Extreme Luchador Super Crazzy has managed to make a big splash in ECW since
his debut in late 1998. One of the most innovative high flyers in pro
wrestling today, Crazzy was a mainstay on the Mexican independent circuit
for years, before signing with the AAA promotion in 1995.
From there, he moved on to the Promo Azteca promotion where booker Konnan
made him the focus of the cruiserweight division. It was while working in
Promo Azteca that Crazzy had a legendary feud with Venum Black, another
daredevil Luchador. The feud culminated in a spectacular mask vs hair
match on March 6th in the city of Naucalpan where the two put on an
incredible exhibition of the Lucha Libre style before Crazzy took the match
and mask of Venum Black.
ECW fans have been deprived of world-class Lucha Libre action ever since
the departure of Rey Misterio Jr, Juventud Guerrera and Psicosis to WCW in
1996. Fortunately, Super Crazzy's matches with countrymen Mosco de la
Merced and Antifaz del Norte have quenched that thirst.
His feud with Japanese sensation
Yoshihiro Tajiri has been one of the best
of 1999 as the two have combined the stiff working style of Japanese
Puroresu with the speed and grace of the Lucha Libre style to put on some
of the best matches in the U.S.
Crazzy first gained exposure in the U.S. competing as Super Loco as part of
the WWF's tournament to crown a WWF Light Heavyweight champ. He has
competed on several tours of Japan and although he wrestles a full time
schedule in ECW, he still manages to wrestle periodically in Mexico.
