Despite their late-season push, the Oilers were eliminated from
playoff contention following Saturday's loss at Vancouver. "We've looked forward to this game for the last 48
hours," LW Ryan Smyth said. "We worked real hard.  We didn't
quit there in the third. All that work we've done in the last
two months feels like it's gone down the drain. It's going to
hurt for a while." ... The Oilers have missed the playoffs
in two of the last three seasons after making it in the
previous five.
