Abraham suffered the injury in practice on Saturday and underwent an MRI on Monday morning. Abraham will miss the entire preseason, but the Jets are hopeful their top pass rusher will be back for the season opener September 8 at Buffalo. Free agent signee Steve White, a six-year veteran, will start at right end in Abraham's absence. He had career highs with 44 tackles and five sacks last season for Tampa Bay. Bryan Thomas, the team's first-round pick in the 2002 draft, may also be used as a speed rusher on the right side in third-down situations or nickel defense. ... J.P.
