CINCINNATI REDS TEAM REPORT
Monday, April 4, 11:02 PM

*Cincinnati Reds Team Report*
-----------------------------

Prior to Monday, Ken Griffey Jr. was 0-for-12 with six
strikeouts against Pedro Martinez. He batted second for
the 39th time in his career and singled his first time up.
... The Reds are 63-65-1 on Opening Day and have opened at
home in 125 of the past 129 seasons. ... Joe Randa's walkoff
homer was the first-ever by a reds player on opening day. ...
The Reds sold 42,794 tickets for the opener, the highest total
since moving to Great American Ballpark in 2003. "Part of it
was due to the IRS ruling," Reds Chief Operating Officer John
Allen said. The Mets didn't leave many passes." Internal
Revenue Service rules are being strictly enforced this year.
Players and other team employees have to pay taxes
on complementary tickets.
