During today's Fan Axxess event, the WWF donated $12,500 to the Special Olympics and the Make-A-Wish-Foundation.
The ceremony took place in the middle of the ring at the Pizza Pizza Arena. On hand were, WWF superstar The Rock, WWF's Canadian Chairman Carl Demarco, as well as Mayor Lastman, representatives of Special Olympics and also Make a Wish Foundation. Sitting at ringside was The Rock's Mom.
After the ceremony, Rock stayed in the ring (along with The Fink) and did a candid Q/A session with the fans. To the fan's delight, Rock even sang his famous 'SmackDown Hotel' and hugged a fan at ringside too.
Toronto's own, Trish Stratus, and Kurt Angle also entertained the fans in the ring. The chants of "YOU SUCK !" and "WHAT?" annoyed Angle. Some fans started chanting "USA! USA!" to which Trish responded by starting a "CANADA! CANADA!" chant.
Later, as Kurt called Canadians a "bunch of idiots", Trish rubbed his nose in the fact that Canada's men's hockey team beat the U.S. in the Olympics.
