WWF set to make big announcement

By DONNIE ABREU -- SLAM! Wrestling

TORONTO -- On Friday March 15th, Linda McMahon of World Wrestling Federation Entertainment will be making an announcement, sure to be of some interest to Canadian thrill seekers. The big surprise was let out of the bag by one of the exhibits at WWF Fan Axxess on Thursday.

The WWFE will be opening their own themed ride in Niagara Falls - on the Canadian side. The ride will be 220 foot high tower that takes passengers from the bottom to the top at super-speed - then, brings them right back down to the bottom even faster. The ride has been appropriately named - "The Piledriver".

Another interesting aspect to this will be that the ride sits atop a 4,000 square foot building, which in essence will be a mini version of WWF Fan Axxess. Merchandise will be on sale along with various interactive displays, models and more.

The "Pile Driver" is set to open in June 2002.
