Hitman happy for Ventura win
TORONTO (CP) -- Canadian wrestling champ
Bret (Hitman) Hart is delighted that former pro wrestler Jesse Ventura has become governor of Minnesota in this week's U.S. elections, calling it a perfect choice.
"He was always a very honest person, he's very outspoken," said Hart. "He's an intelligent guy. He's not going to disappoint people."
Hart, a native of Calgary, is now with Ted Turner's World Championship Wrestling organization after a falling out with the WWF, the World Wrestling Federation.
Asked if the political arena interested him, Hart said it would be scarier than anything he's ever done, although he felt he was honest enough to be a politician if someone wanted to guide him through the process.
"But at this time I don't think I have the smarts."
