G-1 Tag League Champions Yuji Nagata and Takashi Iizuka wrestled All Japan's Toshiaki Kawada and Masa Fuchi to a 30-minute draw in the main event of New Japan's '2nd Judgement' pay-per-view event today in Osaka, Japan.

A sellout crowd of 6,700 fans saw both teams engage in a physical encounter as Nagata and Kawada went at it tooth and nail, working a stiff and snug style of match. The enthusiastic crowd 'oohed' and 'aahed' as both teams built their in-ring work to a fever-pitched cresendo as time expired.

Nagata and Iizuka won this year's G-1 Tag League tournament on November 30th in Hiroshima, thus earning the right to represent New Japan in this inter-promotinal main event match. Kawada and Fuchi reached the semi-finals of All Japan's annual Real World Tag League tournament this past weekend.

In the semi-main event, New Japan President Tatsumi Fujinami defeated junior heavyweight sensation Koji Kanemoto with a figure four leg lock. Manabu Nakanishi (formerly Kurosawa in WCW) defeated Osamu Nishimura with his torture rack submission hold. In another inter-promotional match, the New Japan team of Jushin "Thunder" Liger, Minoru Tanaka and Shin'ya Makabe defeated a contingent from Osaka Pro Wrestling comprised of Tsubasa, Takehiro Murahama and Super Delfin.

In other results: Satoshi Kojima defeated Kenzo Suzuki, Yutaka Yoshie defeated Hiroyoshi Tenzan and Super Strong Machine & Kensuke Sasaki defeated T-2000 Machine & Masa Chono.

During the show New Japan also held a drawing to determine the first round matches for the tournament to crown a new IWGP World Heavyweight champion next month at their annual Tokyo Dome show on January 4th. Former IWGP Champion Kensuke Sasaki will face Satoshi Kojima and Hiroyoshi Tenzan will wrestle Yuji Nagata. Masa Chono and All Japan's Toshiaki Kawada will receive first round byes. Chono will face the winner of the Sasaki-Kojima match in the second round while Kawada awaits the Tenzan-Nagata winner.
