ECW to take on RollerJam
The stars of two of TNN's popular "Friday Night Thrill Zone" sports
entertainment series - WSL RollerJam and ECW - come together and
inevitably clash on the oval rink of the World Skating League in
December.
Four ECW wrestlers will make an unwelcome guest appearance on
RollerJam, Friday, Dec. 17 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/PT) during a match between the
WSL'S Florida Sundogs, known as "The All-American Team," and their
archrivals the New York Enforcers, who have earned their name, "The Evil
Empire."
ECW'S Axel Rotten, Vito "The Skull" Lograssi, Big Sal and Little Guido storm
the match to assist Kenneth Loge III, General Manager of the WSL's Florida
Sundogs. During the action, Loge proclaims that the Sundogs, led by
"Captain America" Bill Baker, will not fall prey to the physical tactics of
the Enforcer's terrible trio of "Twin Towers" Tim Washington and Mark
D'Amato, and "Minister of Pain" Janet Abraham. The ECW boys will find it
difficult to sit idly by and let their favorite Sundogs be pushed around.
"We added ECW Wrestling in August as a lead-in to ROllerJam and to
create a block of sports entertainment programming on Friday nights. Our
ratings have increased significantly during that block, especially among
teens and young men," says Brian Hughes, Vice President, Programming, TNN.
"We thought it would be fun to see what happened when we put the two
supercharged stars together - the wrestlers and the skaters - and even we
were surprised. The viewers should really enjoy the action."
