Questions surround ECW PPV
By JOHN POWELL -- SLAM! Wrestling

Canadian Extreme Championship Wrestling fans are still in the dark. It is less than a week away and still there is no word on whether ECW's Living Dangerously pay-per-view will air this weekend. Viewer's Choice, Canada's primary pay-per-view broadcaster, is keeping the Sunday night slot open but isn't holding out much hope.

"They (ECW) haven't been in touch with us officially. Everyone that we normally deal with there is saying 'Well, we don't know what's going on'. What I have done though in the last week is I actually got in touch with the 'technical side' - the group that handles the production of the show - and they don't have anything booked for a show on Sunday," said Bill Custers, the Director Of Programming and Marketing at Viewer's Choice Canada.

If Living Dangerously doesn't take place an encore broadcast of January's Guilty As Charged, which could prove to be ECW's final pay-per-view show ever, will be shown by Viewer's Choice instead. Custers says that he hasn't received any promotional material for Living Dangerously which is why there is no mention of it in their viewing guides or on their promotional channel.

Bell ExpressVu, a prominent Canadian satillite television provider is taking the same wait and see attitude.

"Unless it is cancelled before then, it will be aired. It is always a possibility. Sometimes our providers do that. We will only know at the last minute," said a Bell ExpressVu representative. Bell ExpressVu customers can still order Living Dangerously but if the show isn't broadcast, they won't be charged for it.

When contacted by SLAM! Wrestling, an ECW spokesman would only say that an announcement about Living Dangerously will be forthcoming in the next couple of days and that fans should keep checking ECW's official site. A message on the site earlier today informed Club ECW members that "due to the tentative nature of ECW's future" ECW will be refunding their money. The termination of the Club may be another indication that the hardcore wrestling promotion may be closing its doors soon and company owner Paul Heyman could be heading off to a new position with the World Wrestling Federation. Heyman is expected to be on at Raw Is War tonight but the nature of his appearance is unknown at press time.
