All set for a hoedown showdown
By BRET "THE HIT MAN" HART -- For the Calgary Sun

Thanks for all the birthday cards!

To all of you living right here in Calgary who wrote that you'd like to meet me one day -- today's the day! Let's do lunch at the new Burger King at about 12:30 -- you know, the one on 17th Ave.

While we're there, I'm going to sign some autographs to raise money for Street Teams. Walter Haessel and ex-Calgary police officer Ross MacInnes were able to take 60 kids off the street last year and place them in foster care. Bring your kids to Burger King to get an autograph from The Hitman and take some kids off the street!

If you can't make it to Burger King today then I'll meet you at Breyer's (at the Grandstand) tomorrow for breakfast at 8. There's no telling who might drop in, but I've never known Bulldog and Anvil to miss a good meal.

BAD VIBES: Leave it to the American-owned WWF to keep on painting me out to be the bad guy. Vince McMahon called me at home and then put parts of that conversation on Raw a few days later -- to make it seem like I said I was in Calgary. I can't hear the live commentary from backstage and this time they made sure to keep me plenty busy doing interviews so I wouldn't have the chance to watch the show on a TV monitor. I had no idea they'd set me up to look like a liar, otherwise I would have come out there right away and exposed McMahon as the one doing the lying. I have to give Jim Ross the benefit of the doubt because he said he thought the phone call Mc-Mahon played was real.

Far be it for me to side with Jerry (Burger King) Lawler but he's had a similar problem over the years where he's had to explain to his home town crowd in Memphis why McMahon twists his words around all the time. I mean, Jerry Loser has a big enough mouth without any extra added help from Vince.

I never said anything that wasn't true and, because the truth hurts now, they're trying to make me look like a liar.

Ken Shamrock used me and my family to get himself a spot in the WWF, but it was all a sham because as soon as he was locked into a contract he stabbed us in the back.

In the WWF today the motto seems to be, `I watch your back, you stab mine.' Sham-man will pay for his treasonous sell out at the Saddledome tomorrow night.

Speaking of sellouts, tickets for the WWF's In Your House Canadian Stampede are almost gone so grab yours today! There'll be matches and other stuff that aren't part of the pay-per-view, so come on down to the Canadian Airlines Saddledome and be part of the action.

The diabolical Paul Bearer described a plot befitting X-Files when he purged a gory secret he claims has troubled his soul for two decades. The mystery of the Undertaker is unraveling. Mr. Bearer claims that during his tenure as a young apprentice in the Taker family funeral home, a young UT and his even younger brother Kane, were caught playing with matches and punished by the senior Mr. Taker. Bearer claims that in retaliation for the punishment, UT set the funeral home ablaze and incinerated his family.

Undertaker strongly denies this and instead claims that he returned from doing his chores to find the entire family home already burned to the ground!

He was so horrified that he hid until the sadistic Paul Bearer forced the young UT to view the charred remains of his mother. As horrifying as both versions of this story are, I'm still not sure what secret it was that had Undertaker under Paul Bearer's thumb.

Why give into Paul Bearer's demands? Why not just tell everyone of the tragedy? How did Undertaker end up respecting Paul Bearer so much as a manager and a friend that he didn't hide his devastation when Bearer first turned on him?

Taker also said that he hopes his fans will forgive him when Paul Bearer reveals the terrible secret.

If he hasn't done anything wrong then what's to forgive?

Now Bearer claims that the Undertaker's younger brother, Kane, is still alive!

Will Kane show up when Undertaker defends the WWF World title against Vader at the Saddledome tomorrow night?

Bulldog, Davey, Owen, Pillman and I are ready to stampede all over Shamrock, L.O.D., Goldust, and Austin.

In the name of good sportsmanship, The Hart Foundation has paid their driver to show them a good time before the match -- because they certainly won't be having a good time after it! The fated five will have a nice big, early dinner and visit some of the more popular midway attractions -- like the Gravitron!

Then if they've still got the guts, The Hart Foundation will be ready for the showdown at the hoedown!
