Summerslam: Hart and soul
By BRET "THE HIT MAN" HART -- For the Calgary Sun
So they're finally going to appoint a new commissioner in the WWF! Now that I'm giving them all a taste of their own medicine, now that the Hart Foundation is fighting fire with fire, all of a sudden they decide they need a new commissioner. That's fine with me! That's what I've been saying all along.
They can dish it out but they sure can't take it. For anybody who still doesn't understand why The Hart Foundation has been fighting fire with fire, this new commissioner is a perfect way for you to see the point.
The point is, if we'd had a fair commissioner all along then The Hitman -- and other guys, too -- wouldn't have been stabbed in the back and cheated over and over again.
Monsoon says that I'm out of control. Good! That's what it took to get a new commissioner. A fair commissioner would never have allowed Shawn Michaels to referee my title match with the Undertaker at SummerSlam tomorrow! A fair commissioner wouldn't have allowed boy toy's blatant interference to cost me a match with The Patriot, of all people.
They'd just better make sure that whomever they appoint as the new commissioner isn't as biased against non-Americans as the rest of the WWF administration. There are some interesting candidates: Cowboy Bill Watts; Hall of Famer Ernie Ladd; Arnold Skaaland.
There's talk of Tito Santana being commissioner, which might be a great idea since Tito was on the wrong end of enough cheap shots to know what it feels like.
Pat Patterson is being considered, but I think he's already too involved in WWF politics to be unbiased.
Jack Tunney's name has come up, but I'd almost rather have an American commissioner after the way Tunney embarrassed Canada as an ineffectual puppet when he was WWF president.
Ray Rougeau is interested and that might actually be a good idea. I'll have to reserve judgment on the new commissioner until we find out, this week, on Monday Night Raw, who it will be.
As interesting as it is to speculate about who the new commissioner will be, my main focus is on SummerSlam, tomorrow at 4:30 on Viewer's Choice pay-per-view! New Jersey's Meadowlands/Continental Airlines Arena is completely sold out in anticipation of what has turned out to be a very hot card.
Bulldog, Owen, and I each have that extra added pressure of not letting the others down for the triple crown and that only makes me more focused on my heavyweight title match with the Undertaker.
What happens if Shawn Michaels doesn't call this one down the middle? I still get screwed and Shawn gets to sit home looking for his smile. I never beat Undertaker and he never really beat me. He can bring all the goblins and the dark side stuff 'cause it doesn't effect me at all. I'm not afraid of the dark side but I am impressed with Undertaker. He's very quick and strong. Unlike other guys who are giants, like Sid or Diesel,
Undertaker doesn't lack mobility. There's a big question mark that looms over my head.
If I can beat Undertaker at the SummerSlam tomorrow it would mean a lot to me personally to beat a guy who always wants it so bad. But if I should somehow lose to the Undertaker at SummerSlam, I will never, ever wrestle on American soil again.
SummerSlam comes early this year and it's hotter than ever. But the heat outside will be nothing compared to the heat I'll get from those Americans if I bring the WWF world title back to Canada.
