Judge rivals for yourself
By BRET "THE HIT MAN" HART -- For the Calgary Sun
You are all a bunch of traitorous backstabbers. Fickle friends, the whole sorry lot of you!
That's right, YOU. I'm talking to the so-called Hitman fans who had a good time attending the WWF card at the Saddledome last night, I have one thing to say to you!
How was it?
I'm only kidding about that traitor stuff. Truth is, I wish I could have been there.
Not that I wish I was still working for the WWF, because I don't.
People ask me that all the time. I'd like to be working for the WWF the way it was, not that way it is now. I'm happy in WCW.
It's just that I miss wrestling live for my fans across Canada. Thank you for all the letters that tell me you miss me too. WCW is making major progress planning a big Canadian tour, so it shouldn't be much longer before The Hitman is in town! Then look out because we're going to make up for lost time!
I have a lot of friends who still work for the WWF and I don't hold the treacherous actions of Vince McMahon and his co-conspirators against the wrestlers who work hard there and give 100% to live up to your expectations and to support their families. My brother Owen has been doing a great job at WWF despite his difficult political situation since my 'departure' and I'm pleased that Calgarians turned out to support him.
Now that you've seen the WWF, I think you should watch the WCW pay-per-view tomorrow so you can compare the two and see for yourself why I'm happy to be in WCW.
They're calling Fall Brawl, The Match Beyond and the card has the potential to more than live up to the hype.
Hogan ousted me from Team Hollywood because I stopped him from nailing Sting with a chair. Sting is my friend. But JJ Dillon mandated that Hogan still has to team with me and Stevie Rey.
Our opponents, Team Wolfpac, (Kevin Nash, Sting, and Lex Luger) are pleased by the dissension in the ranks of Team Hollywood. They're walking around with this cocky "we've already got them beat" attitude to the point where they've been training light and partying hard. They won't feel much like celebrating after the match!
Saving Sting from the chair shot and helping Luger against Anvil and Bulldog only reinforces the reputation I've earned in WCW for being the most unpredictable guy in wrestling. Truth is, I gave Jim a couple of stiff shots that I owed him since Pensacola last Monday and he knew I'd get him sooner or later. The Hart Foundation works in mysterious ways and that we've been together for 13-plus years is proof that it works. I'm sure Anvil will get me back somehow ... that's what worries me.
The only force in wrestling with as much solidarity as The Hart Foundation is The 4 Horsemen. Have you seen how everyone has been pestering Arn Anderson to reform the Horsemen? Benoit. Malenko, McMichael, even Dillon.
Did you know that JJ Dillon managed the Horsemen in their heyday? That's why Dillon should know better. He should know that there's no way Arn Anderson is going to reform the Horsemen without Ric Flair. Where is Ric Flair?
Flair hasn't been around for months due to some legal differences with WCW but I hear that's being straightened out. I wouldn't be surprised if Flair shows up at Fall Brawl since the winner gets a title shot at Goldberg.
Raven and Saturn are going to fight Raven's rules and winner gets the flock. If that's the winning prize, then my best advice to both of these guys is to stay home.
One guy who's at home for now is Hacksaw Jim Duggan. So-called friends in the wrestling business come and go but Jim Duggan has been a good buddy to me for many years. He never let the seedier side of the business change the fact that he's a great guy with a big heart.
Jim has cancer.
I'm putting out the call to Hitman fans, near and far and to all wrestling fans. Pray for Jim Duggan to find the strength to win the toughest fight he's ever had. We're in your corner, Hack. See, Jim, even The Hitman is chanting "USA USA!"
