TV spot's kids stuff
By BRET "THE HIT MAN" HART -- For the Calgary Sun
I have this constant ringing in my head. I'm not talking about the high-pitched whine you get from years of taking turnbuckles and crashing into the canvas. I'm used to that. It's the darn phone that I'll never get used to. These days, there's always a phone to my ear. As much as I hate it, it does have its good points. For example, I just got off the phone with my manager, Bruce Allen, who gave me the good news that I've been asked to do an episode of the hit TV comedy show, Honey I Shrunk The Kids. Stay tuned for details -- same Bret time, same Bret channel.
Kudos to my personal trainer, Grant McReynolds. Grant kicked butt at Schank's last Sunday and won the Western Canadian Strong Man Title by 17 points! Next stop is The Canadian Strong Man Competition in Toronto and the Strongest Man Alive (International) in St. Louis. Another winning member of Team Hitman!
What some people have referred to as the "little disagreement" I had with Hogan on Nitro is actually a big deal. Hogan broke his word to me.
Dishonesty is something I have no tolerance for it. As soon as we signed for the match with Sting and Luger, Hogan told me how he was going to take Sting out with a chair. I made it very clear to him that Sting is my personal friend and I didn't want any cheap shots. Hogan agreed and I'm angry that he went back on his word.
Hogan is acting like I started this. He sent me a fax, throwing me off Team Hollywood at Fall Brawl. Hogan thinks that his is the last and final word because all too often it has been. What he doesn't yet know is that I've spoken with JJ Dillon and since the match is already signed, Dillon is going to mandate that Hogan teams with me and Stevie Rey whether he likes it. Dillon said he's imposing fines so substantial for a no-show that Hogan will have no choice. Too bad for the Hulkster.
I just recruited Stevie Rey into joining nWo Hollywood, even though I'm not a member myself, and I feel kind of bad that he's stuck in the middle of this disagreement between The Hitman and Hollywood. On the other hand, being on Team Hollywood is a major perk, considering that all the wrestlers are clamoring to be a part of Fall Brawl because the winner is awarded a WCW heavyweight title shot at Goldberg. It's not hard for you to see where my sites are set!
Fall Brawl, The Match Beyond.
Team Hollywood: Hollywood Hulk Hogan, Bret Hitman Hart and Stevie Ray
Team Wolfpac: Kevin Nash, Lex Luger and Sting
Team WCW: Diamond Dallas Page, Warrior, and Row-dy Roddy Piper
What a line up! No one has the depth of talent that WCW does and I'm proud to be in the upper echelons of their roster. Yet I still get letters from Hitman fans who desperately plead for me to go back to the WWF and explain why I sold them out and left for more money in WCW. The WWF pokes and jabs at my reputation because they know I'll do the same to them.
The difference is that I'm telling the truth.
You don't have to take my word for it. See the truth for yourself in an independently-produced documentary about me which is scheduled for release soon. I'm honored that the documentary has been selected to open the prestigious Sheffield Film Festival in the U.K.
I'm headed to the Vancouver Molson Indy this weekend. I hope the guy who announces me this time at least gets my name right. At the Toronto Molson Indy, I was introduced as 'Bret The Hartman Hit'. You can't imagine how many fans -- both racing and wrestling -- told me how sorry they were that he'd done that, not only because it was disrespectful to me, but it sort of brought down the hype at the start of the race.
Tune into Nitro to see Hogan's reaction to Dillon's decision. I wouldn't miss it!
