SLAM! Wrestling Canadian Hall of Fame: Bret Hart Memories

Bret Hart
I think the best Bret Hart memory is everything really..because everytime he wrestles you know you will never see such a dedicated, and special wrestler as Bret Hart is ... when he wrestles you never keep your eye off the match because he is the best!!!!
 Lindsey Sidwell

The best memories of Bret is when he had the new Hart Foundation with Owen, Pillman, Niehart and Smith. They always bad mouth the USA and the wrestlers that American fans liked, for a example Shawn Micheals, Stone Cold and the Undertaker and they would attack them from behind but Bret Hart told the truth the American fans turned on him first so he turned his back on us and behalf of the american fans I'm sorry.
 LAGAEL5@aol.com
Bret "The Hitman" Hart has been my favorite wrestler since I was about seven years old. I am fifteen years old now. I always admired his dedication, his ability, his heart, his fighting spirit, and everything else about him since then. He truly is the greatest wrestler in the history of pro wrestling and the greatest athlete in any type of sport. No other athlete in any sport has ever put as much of themselves into what they do as Bret Hart does. Whether you love him or you hate him, you have to admit that he put gave full dedication to wrestling and to all the fans. When Bret waged war against the U.S. fans, it was their own faults. He gave us, the United States fans, and all of his fans worldwide, his full heart and dedication. The "Hitman" never failed to give his all. He always had his Canadian fighting spirit. No matter what the situation was, Bret Hart always rose to the occasion. The United States fans turned their backs on Bret. Bret never turned his back on them. He was angry and frustrated with his treatment from the fans, and he had every right to be. He gave us years and years of dedication, and the U.S. fans abandoned him to cheer on scum like "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and that worthless degenerate "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michaels. They never were as loyal to the fans as Bret was and still is today, yet the fans cheered them anyways. Bret turned down a huge amount of money from the WCW before he came back to the WWF at Survivor Series 1996 to defeat "Stone Cold", bacause of his loyalty to the WWF and to his fans. And what did he get for it? He got screwed over by McMahon at Survivor Series 1997 in his match against Shawn Michaels and gets abandoned by most of his fans in the United States. If I was Bret, I'd be pretty mad too. I will never watch thee WWF again or order a WWF PPV event. Bret, just so you know, I never have and never will abandon you. You are the greatest - EVER!! My fondest memories of Bret are when he defeated Yokozuna at Wrestlemania X for his second championship title reign, and when he defeated "Big Daddy Cool" Diesel (a.k.a. Kevin Nash) at Survivor Series 1995 for his third chamionship title reign. I also got to see him in person. I saw him in the Boston Garden a few years ago. I also saw him on February 13th, 1997 on Tursday Raw Thursday at Worcester, the Thursday before In Your House: The Final Four where he won the title four his fourth time, only to get screwed out of it the next night by Austin hitting him over the head with a chair. I got to tag Bret's hand that night, and I'll never forget. When I was little, I used to look up to Bret. He was my hero and my role model - he still is. I want to thank Bret for all the years of hard work and dedication he has given us over his legendary career. Wrestlers have come and gone, stars have been born and died out, but Bret was always there. Even today, he still is "The excellence of execution. The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!!" He proved that time and time again I know that Bret can defeat anyone in the WCW or NWO. He will be the WCW World Heavyweight Champion. The WCW has a much better talent roster than the WWF, but that doesn't matter. Bret could beat any of them. I just hope that the WCW doesn't fail to promote him. I hope they give him full support. If they don't - they're stupid. He's the greatest wrestler ever. He would give them great ratings. I hope he keeps his head up high as he always has and doesn't let people get to him. I hope he doesn't change his personality. I hope he stays the same person that us "Hitman" fans have grown to love. I love seeing Bret in WCW. Thank you Bret for giving us full dedication and putting your all in wrestling. Thank you for sticking up for yourself and being a role model for all people to look up to. Now all you need to do is prove to the WCW fans that you are the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be. Then again, it's us who need to prove that we are grateful for all the years you've given us. Thank you Bret. You will always be my favorite no matter what happens. No wrestler will ever be as good as you!!!!
  The biggest "Hitman" fan ever,
 Brian "The Hitman" Edmunds
Well my memory of Bret is he never gives up no matter who he fights he put's up a good fight. I remember when he fought Bad News Allen in a a match for the title in Stampede Wrestling. Bad News had used something on Bret and Bret was bleeding all over but Bret would not give up he still fought till he won. He couldn't come back out to do the interview his brothers Keith and Bruce did it for him but Bret had a standing ovation that night everyone was standing up when he won. He was great back then and he still is great now. Those who say there his fans then when he goes bad they aren't they are not his true fans. I have stuck being his fan though thick and thin and I will be a fan of his till the day I die and thats the truth.
  Rhonda Kominek (Hart Babe)
Bret "Hit Man" Hart is the greatest wrestler of all time. He has wrestled so many wrestlers from 200lbs. to 600lbs. and he has beaten them all! He knows so many manuevers and executes them perfectly. That is why he is the Excellence of Execution. He is also the master of submissions. he can issue any of the following to his oppoents at any time: Sharpshooter, figure-four leglock, figure-four leglock around the ringpost, boston crab, cross-faced chicken wing, armbar and others I have failed to mention. He is a champion to end all champions! he is a two-time WWF tag team champion w/ Jim "The Anvil" Niehardt, a two-time WWF Intercontinental Champion, and a FIVE-TIME World Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Champion. If he hadn't been screwed so many times by the WWF owner, Vincent K. McMahon, He would have been WWF champion for many more times to come. Bret Hart has estbalished his claim as the "best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!"
  -Casey McFall-
My memories of Bret Hart are:
When he defended the WWF title against the undertaker on SummerSlam of 97.
Since I was 5 years old, I always have being The Hitman's fan. I never miss Bret Hart's matches.
He is always going to be my favorite wrestler.
Thank you, for being who you are. "The Hitman"
  Alvaro Yepez
I think the best Bret Hart memory was when he battled with Shawn at WRESTLEMANIA X.I think that was the best memory because the both members gave all they got. They battled , batteled ,and battled ,But never gave up.They tried and tried but one man came out to be the World Wrestling Federation Champ.
 MoRtALGT1@aol.com
Bret "Hit Man" Hart was my favorite wrestler when I started liking wrestling. He still is my favorite. I want to grow up to be just like him. My favorite memory of him is when he defeated WWF Champion Yokozuna. I think Bret Hart is the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!
 Joey K.
My favorite memory of Bret Hart is everything that he has done. I have grown up watching this great wrestler. He is my idol in every way, and to that I owe him my life. I understand everything he has done, and if there is something I don't get he explains it to me. Bret is just a real man, someone you could look up to. Today we live in a world of chaos and no heroes. But Bret Hart is a hero, he may not think he is now but he has proven through his actions he is. I have never went to a wrestling show, but I do my best to get a hold of every Bret Hart material there. He is simply a perfect wrestler, and he won't dare not give his 100 percent. Many people dislike Bret because of the U.S.A. incident, but he is true. I am even a citizen of the U.S.A. and I know he speaks the truth. My dream is to one day to meet this legend who has so greatly influenced my life. I could go on and on about Bret Hart but you would have to write an ongoing collection that would never end about everything Bret has done and meant to me. I still believe you Bret!
 Adam Brewer
I have two memories I'd like to mention.
One was Bret taking the World Wrestling Federation title from Ric Flair. I'll never forget that victory. Bret then finally got what he deserves.
My second Bret Hart memory is the speach he made on Raw, in which he turned his back to the American people and announced he will be faithfull to non American fans, Canadian especially. I think you should always stay loyal to your roots. I was glad to see Bret not letting the American people get to him. I'll never forget the standing ovation he got at the Canadian Stampede. WOW!
 Elez J. Shenhar
My favorite memory of Bret Hart is when at Canadian Stampede the Hart family beat Austin and team USA at the In Your House and then whole Hart family just came in the ring
 Kenneth T Biggins
I was a fan of the Hart Foundation since I was eight. The initial reason was that I thought Anvil's goattie was cool. I attended a WWF event long ago in Montreal and the first match was between the Rockers and the Hart Foundation. Although it was the first match of the card it was also in my opinion the best, the match resulted in a time limit draw. Little did I know how big two wrestlers in that match will became in the future.
Usually I'm a person that cheers for the underdog against a crowd favorite like Hogan, Michaels, or the Undertaker. But when Bret was on top of the WWF I was still one of his biggest fan. I particularly remember his matches against the Bulldog, Papa Shango, Owen Hart, Diesel, Bob Backlund, Jerry Lawler, first ever King of the Ring and the 60 minute Iron Man match where the Hitman was robbed.
When I heard that the Hitman was coming back I could hardly wait. It is very good to see a western canadian dominating a U.S coperation. Shortly after he formed the gang that is the best there is, was and ever will, the HART FOUNDATION. I never forget Owen's tears when after a long feud he made up with his brother. Bulldog, one of my other personal favorites was also there. Shortly after came Pillman who was the Esa Tikaneen of the gang, a good guy who could always be counted on. Then the Anvil came just in time to push Austin off the entrance stage and break Stone Cold's skinny little body. Then all the U.S jokes started, one of my all time favorite was: The U.S is nothing but a toliet where the Patriot comes to take a pi$$. But more importantly he always carried the Canadian flag with pride. He gave us more pride in our country than any other Canadian athlete or politician.
I get a big laugh of the WWF today. Their big American hero Stone Cold was killed twice by the best there is. One time Stone Cold passed out in the sharpshooter. Bret was so brave that he was so sure that he will win the title that he put his own career on the line against the Undertaker. Even though Michaels was the ref, Bret found a way to win. The Patriot giving up when the fans were chanting U.S.A was also great. Canada went 4-0 in the flag matches against the U.S.. My favorite pay per view was the Calgary Stampede when the Hart Foundation beat five U.S wrestlers to win the match. I remember all the Harts running in the ring and celebrating, it was great. I will also remember: 3:16 OWEN JUST BROKE YOUR NECK, OH CANADA BEFORE MATCHES and Pillman's triple X files. Pillman dying was the start of the end of an era. (Good luck Loose Cannon at the big ring in the sky). I was so mad when Hitman was $crewed in Montreal, I haven't watched WWF since. It is like the NHL without the Montreal Canadians.
I watch WCW every week now. It is fairly good, but I was kind of hoping that Bret will reform the Foundation, maybe with Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit as a new member; at least he join alliances with traitors like Sting, Luger and Nash of the Wolfpack. Anyways what ever he does he will always be my all time favorite.
5 time Heavyweight Champ, 2 time Intercontinal, 2 time tag team champ, first ever King of the Ring Winner, 2 time Royal Rumble Champ. Surely the best there is!
Attila the sixth member of the Hart Foundation
Bret Hart has always been my favorite wrestler. Ever since his days with the first Hart Foundation.(the best tag team ever) I always admired his athletism and the fact he could wrestle big or small guys and excellently execute them. Your matches are always the most entertaining of the card. Your the only Professional wrestler that can bring a lot of ametuer move to the match and still make it entertaining. Your best matches were with Shawn Micheals(even though I hate the little puke) My favorite match ever is Survivors Serries 1992 when you faced Shawn Micheal and you cought that little boy in the sharpshoter and made him cry for his mom. I even liked you when you bashed America even though I am an American because I knew a promoter was putting you up to it. I had never watched WCW until you went their now that is all I watch. I wish you the best of luck in WCW.
 Carrie A Lancaster
My favorite memory of Bret Hart is well, tonights nitro. He really showed that he cared about someone in the Federation and showed that he does care and feel for people who he feels for and admires. I personally think that he is one of the bravest wrestlers. He warned everyone in WCW and NWO that they were no longer safe and that shows that he has ballz. I would just like to tell him that I will always be on his side.
 PHATMAN654Aaol.com
I think I am the best hitman fan ever. I recorded most of his matches, I've collected most of his figures, I got his shades, his poster and his shirt and I am not even Canadian. He is THE BEST THERE IS,THE BEST THERE WAS, AND THE BEST THERE EVER WILL BE. I think the best memory I saw was when he made Jerry "The King" Lawler kiss his feet at the King of the Ring.

Bret really is the best there is the best here was and the best there ever will be. What no one will probably understand is why Bret why only Bret knows why anyways my favoirite memory is when Bret beat the living !!##$% of Stone Cold Steve Austin. I have so much respect for the Hitman, he is a great role model for the people and what I think is he should of stayed in the WWF. Same with the British Bulldog and the Anvil. Because all of them had a good future in the WWF. For example the Bulldog was almost known every where in the WWF now he is barely on Nitro. Same with the Anvil. He would of been known good in the WWF if he stayed he was a former tag team champ now you barely see him in tag team action with the Bulldog and Bret had such a big spectrum in the WWF even though fans boooed him in America but deep inside they still have the respect. He is one of those guys that made what the WWF is today by being the champion 5 times. It was good that Owen Hart stayed in the WWF becuse he still has a big future ahead of him in the WWF he might even be a wrestling champion well even though Bret is gone in the WWF I still have the biggest respect for him in WCW and wish him all my luck to be a WCW champion. thank you very much.
  harry
I have several memories of Bret Hart but I only have one memory I woukd like to mention. That memory is when he was defeated by the British Bulldog for the Intercontinental Title. It was the best match that I have ever seen. Even though Bret lost the match he showed the true sportsmanship of a real Champion. He handed the title over with his own two hands. This is what makes Bret Hart the greatest champion of all time. I cannot wait for Bret Hart to step into the ring against Hulk Hogan because it will pit the two greatest wrestlers of all time in the ring together against one and other. Beyond a shadow of a dought Bret Hart will remain supreme in his quest for the WCW championship belt. It's not the belt that Bret wants, its the tile as WCW Heavyweight Champion of the World.
  Shawn Carmichael
The first time I saw the 'Hitman' was at Wrestlemania X, when he beat Yoko for the title. Since then, I've followed his career and cheered no matter who he faced. Americans turned his back on him, as did McMahon and the WWF, and yet he has perservered. I have never seen anyone more dedicated to being the best. Jerks like Austin, or brainless degenerates like Michaels have nothing on this guy. Bret has never backed away from a fight, and has never quit. In WCW, I could care less whether he's n.W.o. or WCW, because either way I know he'll still be the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will BE!!!! Black-and-White, Red-and-Black, neither matters, 'cause it's Pink-and-Black, 4ever.
  Chris Taylor (Hitman 4 Life)
Bret Hart Kicks ASS! He was his all-time best when he bad-mouthed those Americans! The Hart Foundation was at it's strongest and at SummerSlam '97 Bret won the WWF Title for the fifth time! He totally kicks ass but I wish he would have stayed in the WWF!
  NAD, ACE, SLICK
My favorite matches that Bret Hart were a part of were all in the WWF.
Probably my favorite Bret Hart match was at Wrestlemania 8 that was Bret Hart vs. Rowdy Roddy Piper for the Intercontinental Title. That match showed true talent and championship material from both wrestlers. It shows the true competitive spirit of wrestlers.
Another great Bret Hart memory was at SummerSlam '93 after Bret Hart beat Doink, he went and then fought Jerry Lawler, but lost because he didn't release the Sharpshooter at the end.
But, probably my favorite memory of Bret Hart, that wasn't really a match was at Starrcade '97 after he hit Eric Bischoff, he literally handed Nitro to WCW, and then in the World title match between Stine and Hogan, he beat up the ref after a fast-count and after Sting puts Hogan in the Scorpion Death Lock, Hogan submits and Hart gives the match to Sting.
I've been a big fan of Bret Hart for 9 years and I'm not gonna go against him until his career is over.
  Michael Taylor, Voorhees, New Jersey
My favorite Bret Hart memories are when he beat Yokozuna at Wrestlemania 10. I have been a fan of his since I was in 6th grade. Another was when he beat the Undertaker last year and when he beat Jerry the King Lawler In a kiss my foot match. I hope he stays US champ for a long time to come.
  Dave Feinsmith
Bret is my favourite idol and my role model. He has a great influence. It is him that my determination has improved. No one can deny my passion for him. All my friends know that I am a die hard Hitman fan. I would be extremely upset if someone says that I am not a Hitman fan. I support Bret because of his great determination. The time I have since started Bret dated back to the Survivor Series where he was up against Bob Backlund. Bret then was caught in the cross face chicken wing and yet he didnt give up. This inspired me. Bret Hart is the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be wrestler in the World.
 Bret Lim, Singapore
My name is Vladimir, I am 17 years old & I am from Bulgaria. I`ve never been to a WWF or WCW wrestling match in my life...but I`ve been following Bret steps since I was 10 years old. I used to watch RaW is WaR...but not anymore since Bret left the WWF...but now I am watching every Bret`s appearance at the WCW Nitro...for me he`s a man who I can look up to...he`s the perfect role model...he dedicates himself and all he does to the great fans of wrestling. He lives & wrestles for the fans...for to bring smiles on children`s faces. For me there`s no doubt that Bret Hart is the "Excellence of Execution"...
Now there`s something I would like to share with all you guys who write memories in this column....................when I first went to see the memory lane and read all you have written coast to coast...I started crying.....I cried and cried...but I smiled at the same time...these were tears of happiness that I know that there are people who really appreciate all that Bret Hart did for wrestling...and still does.
 Thank you all!!!
...my list of memories is long...but by being 2 times WWF Tag tean champion,2 times WWF Intercontinental champion, first ever King of the ring winner,2 times Royal Rumble winner,5 times WWF WORLD CHAMPION,WCW US Heavyweight Champion...it is obvious to me that Bret "Hitman" Hart is indeed "the best there is,the best there was and the best there ever will be" and should be documented in history as the GREATEST WRESTLER IN THE HISTORY OF WRESTLING!
Vladimir Petkov(One of the greatest Hitman fans)
I think Bret is the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be. My interest in the match began when I saw this man making the return to rumble after his leg injury. Austin couldn't take it while he was waiting for the next opponent. But when Bret came, Man, Austin got scared. I apprecaite his Bret's understanding. What I like about Bret is that when he takes match to a point where both wrestlers are tired, and still he shows his best, when he breaks the best moves of anyone, play like a wrestler not just stunning everyone, consentrating only on his opponent. Good Luck Bret if you think being with Hollywood is the best way, than go for it.
  Sarfraz Durrani
I wanted to say that I think Bret Hart is the best wrestler of all time. All his fans including me have stayed with him and we all believe he's the best there ever was, the best there is, and the best there ever will be!!! My favorite memory was when he absolutely smashed Stone Cold at Wrestlemania for trash talking him! Bret is truly the best!
  Liz Wilson
I see that the WCW is treating Bret almost as bad as Vince McMahon. I really hate the phoney wrestling antics of the WCW but watch it for one reason. The reason is my superhero, Bret HITMAN Hart. Watching Bret job to the likes of the non talented Lex Luger was to much to bear. I am a very loyal fan of Bret and I have kept my word and have not watched the WWF since November 9, 1997. Pro wrestling has given me such great joy but I had to draw the line when Vince humiliated Bret. I have been watching Bret and the WWF for the past eight years. I have 60 ppv tapes to prove it, as well as attending all the Halls of Fame events, numerous live events, and going on last years cruise. Why, because of Bret Hart. I feel he is the greatest technical wrestler of all time, as well as one of the nicest persons I have ever met. If I could have but one wish it would be that he could be the fans hero that he once was many years ago before Vince hurt his image. The anti American figure that he was protraying was certainly not Bret. I'm lucky in my life that I have spent time talking to my hero. Most people only dream that they could meet their superstar.
 Nancy Minton, ABretFan@aol.com, Laurel, Maryland
My greatest Bret Hart memory was on WCW Nitro when he badmouthed DDP. Then later, in the main event,he beat DDP fair and square in the middle of the ring, with the most devastating submission move in profesasional wrestling -- the sharpshooter -- to capture his first title in WCW, the United States title. I hope Bret Hart captures the WCW world heavyweight title from Goldberg somewhere around Christmas. Bret Hart is my hero and he truly is, the best there is,the best there was,and the best there ever will be!
 Big Bret Hart, Mark Fonseca
My favorite Bret Hart memory was on RAW when Bret insulted the American fans. Shawn Michaels then came out to defend the Americans and told Bret, like it or leave it. This is where my memory came up. Bret punched Shawn right on the mouth. Then he put the figurefour around the post on Michaels' injured knee. Shawn screamed like a girl for a long time. When Bret finally let go, Shawn chould barely walk (haaaaaaaa haaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!) I hope Bret does that again in WCW and doesn't let go.
 MFon97@aol.com
Bret Hart is The best there is the best there was and the best there ever= will be. thats all i have to say
 Kyle Petronski
What else can I say, it seems everyone has said it already. Since I was 4, I have watched wrestling & since I was 4. I have loved every second of it. I have been a Bret Hart fan since I was 4, that is 16 years!!! I have had many favorite wrestlers but Bret was always the one that stuck out in my mind, my most favorite. I have met many of them but I haven't met Bret, yet!!
Bret Hart is the ICON & I can't wait till he beats Hogan. Bret is the hero, that all kids once looked up too, now unfortunately they look up to scsa & wrestling in general is a lot different than it used to be. Bret a family man, a good father, you forgot one bret is a good uncle. Remember what he promised his dying nephew. Bret loves the fans so much, he always has & he always will. I know people don't care to much right now, but they should.
  ava vaughn
Since the age of 4, I have loved wrestleing. When I started School All the kids were talkin' about what Bugs Bunny did that saterday morning & I told them that I didn't watch it because wrestleing was on & they looked at me as if I were from outer space or something, I didn't understand!! My Brother told me it was because they thought zgirls shouldn't watch wrestleing & I asked him Why & he said that I don't know!
Bret Hart is more than just a wrestler or a Good Guy or Bad Guy. To me it doesn't mean that if your a good Athlete your 1 of my Favorites.
Bret has HEART & that's very important to me. Bret Loves People & I think he loves animals. Bret is 1 of the Greatest Men This world has Ever Known & I'm honored that he Cares enough to zbring some of himself into our Everyday Lives. Bret is a Good Father! His kids are so Lucky to have him as there Father!! A Name is Just a Name but that depends on how you carry the name!! Bret Hart is a name that will live in the Lives of Everyone in The World, Forever!! Bret Hart is The Kind of Man That Every Family Would be Proud to Have!! I know he is 1 of the most Gentle Men in The World & Helen Should be Proud of haveing a Son Like Bret!! I know I would!!!!
 LARRYg Vaughn
The best moment of Bret Hart was when he beat the hell out of Stone Cold Steve Austin
 Htmnnwo316@aol.com
My favorite memory of Bret the Hit Man Hart is when Bret fought Bulldog in the cage and it was thrown out cause Owen came out
  your greatest fan Daniel Rootsaert
My favorite Bret Hart moment was when he beat Yokouzuna at Wrestlemania X. No one was able to beat him and the the excellent of excution did. The crowd went insane and I loved it. Even though it wasn't with the sharpshooter he got the win. That must of been Bret's greatest moment.
 ZombieKilr@aol.com
To see a True Champion, look no further than the guy who has the United States Championship belt around his waist....
Bret Hart,is the greatest Wrestler of all time!Everyone talks about Hogan;but if you look at Bret's record he has beaten everyone good, bad or in between....Except Hulk Hogan, and Hogan has never beaten Bret...
Here's my prediction when the Match Happens, and for Wcw it is a match needing to be made...
None of Hogan's intimidation will work on the Hitman, and Hogan is way too slow to counter the Excellence of Excecution! A sharpshooter is in the Future for Hogan....
Bret is being bood by the Fans of Wcw,and I ask this question..Why Fans Why!.You Pay to see the best and when Bret Hart walks out, there are no gimmicks,no screaming, yelling or swearing..Just what is on the entrance it is called Wrestling.....In this humble reporters view..Bret the "Hitman"Hart, the greatest to ever step into a ring..And call himself a Champion...........
This Article has been a tribute to the Hitman! From Wrestlings Greatest Family,it is time for everyone to stop booing and offer the "Hitman",the Ovations he so richly deserves............
  Mike Hoffman
I think that Bret should bring back the hart foundation, because when he was with the Hart Foundation, he had a lot of gold!
 Justin Todd, Detroit,MI
My best Bret Hart memorie was at survivor series of 1991 when the other three of his men on his team where out and the other three men on the undertakers team where out on the undertakers first WWF fight as the Millon dollar mans mistory fourth man on his team and Hart and the Undertaker fought for an easy 20 minets back and forth l forget who won but Bret Hart really showed me some guts and l respect him for that and for every thing else he has done in WWF and WCW/nWo. Thanks Bret your the best... it's good you have such a tight friendship with Hulk Hogan.
  Uncanny924
Bret is probably the greatest Canadian wrestler of all time. He is 5 time heavyweight champion, 2 time intercontinental champion, 2 time tag team champion, and a 2 time United States heavyweight champion. Bret could beat anybody even Goldberg, Ultimate Warrior, and Hollywood Hulk Hogan.
 Hogan686@aol.com
I Personally think bret hart is not only the best human that ever walked in the WWF but the best wrestler.....he is relentless and is very VERY technical .....i would give a million bux to meet the guy and shake his hand......the thing im saying is he REALLY needs to return to the WWF.....his best matches were there and his best competition is there......i enjoy watching the WWF....and i enjoy iy even more when Bret is there.......please tell Bret about this because im not the only one.......It Is all up to him.....But no matter what....in my eyes he will always be the best there is.....the best there was......and the best that there EVER will be.....
  Kamran -15, Los Angeles, CA
I Love Bret Hart! He has beaten pretty much every good wrestler ever. He can beat anybody, anytime. I remember watching him as a little kid. he always gave a fan his glasses, and I hoped that one day I will get to be that kid. I remember his match against Mr. Perfect for the IC belt! I remember when he beat Roddy Piper at WM 8. I remeber his WWF heavyweight wins for the belt against Flair, Yokozuna, Diesel, The Final Four against, Vader, Undertaker, and Stone Cold, and the Undertaker at Summerslam 97! I remember him and the Anvil winning the Tag belts twice angainst The British Buldogs and then Demolition! I remember when he rebuilt the Hart Foundation when Owen and The Buldog were fighting. I remember when he gave Shawn Michaels the figure four on the ringpost! I remember every moment of his career! Too bad, he is in WCW. But he still kicks everybody's ass in WCW. He is the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be, he is the excellence of execution!
  Anthony Taouil, Leamington, Ontario
I've followed wrestling for many many years now. Ever since I was a little kid, I remember bits and pieces of Stampede Wrestling. I still remember seeing bits and pieces of Bret in his early years. I also remember the great match between Davey Boy Smith and Bret Hart in Wimbeley Stadium with Diana in the middle of it all. I also have a friend who's dad was a professional wrestler "Cry Baby Caron" and he showed some pictures of him and his involvement with Stampede Wrestling. Stu Hart is truly "The Godfather and Founder" of Professional Wrestling. I've heard of Stu and his stories and I wish that one day I can meet the Hart Family and visit the Hart's Mansion and see and hear about the past and history of professional Wrestling

What can I say about "The Hitman"? I won't go on and on like some people gushing through this e-mail, but I will say that I have always loved, respected, and admired "The Hitman" for his pride, integrity, and never say die attitude. I just hope that I will be able to do like Bret Hart when I'm in big time wrestling. My favorite memeory of Bret Hart would have to be King of the Ring `93 where he went through Razor Ramon (Scott Hall), Mr. Perfect (Curt Hennig), and Scott "Bam Bam" Bigelow to crowned the king of the ring. But, Bret, thanks for the memories, and... you'll be hearing from me pretty soon.
  Terran McCall
I remember the first time I saw the Hitman wrestle live! I snuck out of my house and met my friend Donald. Both telling our parents we were spending the night at the other ones house. We then paid Donalds brother $40 to drive us 40 minutes north to Albuquerque to go see WWF wrestling at the Tingley coliseum.
Truth be told, I went there to see the Macho Man and Elizabeth! What more could a 14 year old ask for them to have ringside for that match! The o
pponenet for Macho man that evening? Bret Hart! I was so impressed with the athleticism Hart showed during the match and the out of the ring fighting that took place right in front of me! Bret was a bad guys , bad guy and I loved it!
From that moment I started following the goings on wil the Hart Foundation and was thrilled to see them destroy the British Bulldogs any chance I could! I also to this day, say that Bret and Anvil should have beat Andre at the battle royal at WM2!

I have special memories of the show on which Bret Hart came back to the ring after being gone for 8 months or so. The night he said what had been missing from the World Wrestling Federation was him. That night was really special. And I think when he came back he has been even more important to the wrestling world than he was before.
 gjhm@webtv.net
Well my best memory is probably coming soon. Thats when Bret beats the hell out Hollywood Hogan.. and destroys the black and white N.W.O. After he does this Sting will recruit Bret.....otherwise he should just go back to the WWF where he is not on the back shelf... the WWF is Hart's home and is where he became 5 time WWF champion...

My favorite memory of Bret?... There have been so many memories that I can't even pick a favorite. Bret has brought so much more than great wrestling matches to the wrestling industry. He has given the world a hero, and what makes it even more special is that he's proud of the fact that he's looked up to by millions for what he does. Bret We Love U.
My best memories of the Hitman were any matches he wrestled. The good and the bad. Especially the "Give up Match", where Stone "HAS" Steve Austin was bleeding all over the place while passing out from the sharp shooter. Also seeing him in person at a local bar in my home town, where I scored his autograph and seeing him wrestle with Owen against Stone "HAS" Austin and Puke Love Mick Foley. No wonder Bret left. I look forward to his career in WCW and even though the talent roster is stacked I know Bret will eventually come out on top. I hope to see him in Canada soon. It would be great to see a WCW live event. Bret should enjoy his career change and should never go back to the WWF until they grow up and stop acting so desperate and only the WWF MORONS can think otherwise.
  Darryl
I remember Bret during the good and bad days in the WWF. Especially the greatest days in the WWF. Key word there WWF, I'll never get over Bret not being in the WWF. Tears came to my eyes when I heard he was off to WCW and he'll never be back to the WWF. I'll always remember his outstanding matches with Roddey Piper, Davey Boy Smith and the first man to beat Yokozuna with a fair pin. Whatever he does or wherever goes I'll always know that Bret "Hitman" Hart is best hardest working wrestler there ever will be.
  Bret Harts Biggest fan
Bret Hart,The Best there is,the best there was,and the best there ever will be.I remembered him when he was just a member of the "Hart Foundation".I knew there was a bright future for him. But(sincerely) I never expected him to be on par with Hulk Hogan(Five-times WWF Champion). He has proven again and again that he is one of the best. Winning numerous titles.I admire the "Excellence of Execution" even though I never got to meet him personally.Wrestling is rare here in Malaysia. But yet afar,I still look up to him as a role model.Keep up the good work Bret,And remember the people of Malaysia are always behind you........

I remember when just a few days ago Bret Hart left Hogan as the happiest day
 JShu101248@aol.com
My favorite two memories of Bret Hart was when he beat Big Cool Daddy "Diesel". And when he beat the Undertaker, then put Jerry 'the King' Lawler in the sharpshooter. But what Vince McMahon did to Bret Hart at the Suvivors Series '97. I watched that and everyone knew that he didn't give up, and even if you are a Shawn Michaels fan you still know that Bret Hart should of won. But Bret should of stayed in the WWF, and kept hte Hart Foundation together. They were the best tag team around. With Bret, Owen, the Bulldog, and the Anvil. But it was sad what happened to Brian Pillman. Bret's not noticed in WCW as he was in WWF. But neither is theAnvil or the Bulldog. Bret is the exellence of execution. Bret "Hitman" Hart is the best there is, the best there was, and the best there will ever be.

I think that Bret Hart was and still is the best wrestler that I have ever watched. He has speed and power and when he puts the sharpshooter on you, you're history. I've watched Bret scince I can remember and he has always been in it for the fans. When the fans turned their backs on him, it must have hurt him deeply. He is my idol in everything that I do and I hope I get to see him live one day.
Keep your head high Hitman and don't let anyone bring you down.

I have several memories of Bret Hart which I would like to share. First off, I have been watching Bret wrestle since I was four, I am thirteen now, he has been my favorite wrestler ever since. One of my favorite memories was when he won his first major singles title against Curt Hennig at Summerslam '91, in which he won the Inter-Continental title. Another was when he regained the World title from Yokuzuna at WrestleMania X. I also enjoyed watching him winning his match at Souled Out '98 when he proved to the world he was better than Ric Flair by forcing him to submit to the Sharpshooter. The other night when he finally got away from Hogan was another great Hart memory. I was the only one of my friends who kept my faith in Hart. I knew he wasn't nWo 4 Life, he is Hart Foundation 4 Ever. The true colors of wrestling are no way red 'n black or black 'n white, they are pink 'n black.
  A Hart fan 4 Ever,
 Josh Hayes (Hart414@aol.com)
My memories of Bret Hart are the night he reunited the Hart Foundation. Survivor Series 1997. His first appearance on Nito, and Wrestlemania 8, when he defeated Piper. He is my favorite wrestler along with Sting, The Rock, Steve Austin, Shawn Michaels, and the British Bulldog. I hope that sooner than later he would become the next WCW world heavyweight Champion

My best Bret Hart memory was at Wrestlmania 10 when he kicked Yoko and beat him. The Hitman will always be the Excellence of Execution.
 USHER12333@aol.com
I remember when Bret Hart fought in that battle royal at Wrestlemania 2.
He was the last man in with Andre the Giant. What a task. Even though he lost he was the best in the ring.

My favorite memory (or favorite memories, in this case) would be each time I've met the Hitman!! I've met him over 10 times, and have been a fan of his for about 10 years now. I am truly THE biggest Hitman fan, EVER!! Each time I've found my own sneaky way to meet him, he's never blown me off & is always willing to take yet another picture with me. The way he's conducted himself & continues to conduct himself is what traditional wrestling stands for (which is pretty non-existant these days). He stands for good old fashioned wrestling as opposed to this soap opera, sexploitation, anything that stirs up controversy, what-have-you garbage. Thank god someone like the Hitman is still in wrestling or it'd be doomed! Anyhow, I have fond memories of meeting the Hitman because he is my hero. He was always a friend to me throughout the years when I was having a lot of problems (with family, friends...). He was the one person who never criticized me or never blew me off. We're also the same astrological sign (cancer), which is cool. I can just identify with him! I just want to say thank you to Bret for being....well, Bret, of course....because a world without Bret would really suck. Thanx for reading.
 And I LOVE YOU BRET!!
 --Johanna, Chicago, IL
I loved it when Bret beat the hell out of Shawn Michaels (A person he never lost to fair and square)on RAW when he said " At least I'm not dancin around here like a jackass, for a couple of ungrateful americans and posing in girly magazines!"
Then When HBK said " Well how would you know unless you took a little peek"
Shawn learned never to mess with the HITMAN and got his ass whooped
 Blakdgnr8@aol.com
I am a big fan of Bret Hart and I remember one of his matches in the WWF when he locked the sharpshooter on Yokozuna and Yokozuna was crying in pain until Mr. Fuji came into the ring and put salt into his eyes. I believe that this match was definitley won by Hart if Mr. Fuji hadn't interfered
 Suyash Barve
My favorite memory of The Hitman is when he defeated Lex Luger to become two time US champ by DDTing him on the steel chair.

My favorite Bret Hart memory is the night he showed up on WCW Moday Nitro. Like Bret, I became disgusted with the WWF's highly negative, profanity-laden, perverse television shows. I respected WCW for giving the fans what we want: QUALITY ATHLETES AND WRESTLING. WCW champions don't have to cuss out their challengers and give them the middle finger in order to get fans to notice. Fans notice WCW wrestlers because of their stature, reputations, and tremendouse wrestling skill. Anyone who believes otherwise is just lying to themselves. I had been wishing that Bret would come to WCW for years. Finally, on that special night in December 1997, it happened! Bret came to compete with the Big Boys...WCW, a positive company based on genuine competition between the greatest athletes ever in wrestling. A place where men become champions, not a place where men descend to the lowest levels of human society. Bret and WCW are synonyms of sorts: Both stand up for what is right and both refuse to cheapen their images in order to attract degenerate, immature cult-like followers. BRET AND WCW: THE ULTIMATE COMBINATION, the world's most competitive, gifted wrestler in the world's most competitive, giving company. THANK YOU BRET, THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES, *THANKS FOR GIVING McMAHON WHAT HE TRULY DESERVED*, **THANKS FOR COMING TO WCW**, AND THANKS, IN ADVANCE, FOR THE EXCITING YEARS TO COME AND THE NEW LEGACY WHICH YOU WILL FORGE IN WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING!!!

One of the greatest memories of Bret that I have transpired 8 years ago at Summer Slam 1990 when The Hart Foundation were fighting Demolition for the tag titles. For weeks I had to put up with a silly odds games where I was the only one who believed the Harts were going home with the titles. As you all know The Harts Won Demolition lost My three friends were in shock my brother actually cried and me? I was a very Happy FAN. it was then I knew what those guys were capable of. I was really proud.

I've been watching wrestling for almost 20 years now and in all that time I've never seen anyone who is better in the ring or gives more than Bret "Hitman" Hart. No matter whether he is fan favorite or not, he will always be "the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be." I hope that I will one day have the chance to meet Bret Hart and if that day comes, I will be satisfied in having met my rolemodel.
 Blake Selinsky
My favorite memory of Bret Hart is how he hasn't stopped whining for years now, and lets not forget my 2nd favorite memory how Bret USED to be a main eventer but is now stuck in the land of the Mid-carders. But THE very best memory of The Hitman was watching him submit to his own finisher in Canada to HBK.....{sigh} the memories. Hey Bret two Words for ya......S#CK IT!!!!!
 Javier Antunez, TheJazz@webtv.net
I'm waching Wrestling since 7 years and if you can reconstituate The Hart Foundation, it's gone be better than nWo, The Nation and D-X.
Denis Trahan (I'm a fan of THE QUEBECERS too because I'm coming from the province of Quebec)
My favorite Hitman memory is when Bret faced Curt Hennig for the WWF Intercontinenal Championship. That was one of the best matches for both compettitors. When Bret blocked the leg drop and turned it in to the sharpshooter. That was really amazing and his late father Stu was able to be there to see him capture the title that night.
 Mike Cramer
My memories of Bret The Hitman Hart are of when he would walk down the platform to enter the wrestling ring to fight his apponents and on the way to the ring would greet his fans with hand shakes hi fives and giving his fans a pair of his sun-glasses. lucky ones they were-- all I have to say is that I love Bret Hart and I am a big fan of his and someday I hope to have the opportunity to meet him some day in person and get close enuff to him to tell him I think highly of him.

I've written in here before and I'd like to put some more in, I'd like to start by saying Bret Hart IS the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be! Another match I'd like to add on was that backstage brawl with Sting he had a couple weeks ago, that ruled, and in case you didn't notice, Bret was getting up a lot more than Sting was. One of the earliest matches I can remember that had Bret Hart in it was at Wrestlemania 6, in which the Hart Foundation beat up 2 Russian Guys in about 16 seconds, I thought it was awesome, I realized then that these pink and black guys were really something! Back then, that was one of the shortest matches I've ever seen! The Hart Foundation went on to be the next Tag Champs by beating Demolition. After a few more Tag Championships, Bret went into singles competition to win the Intercontinental Title from Mr. Perfect, and then he lost it to the Mountie with a 102 degree temperature. Piper beat Mountie, and the rest is history, Bret beat Piper at WM8, and at that moment, seeing that bloodied Bret Hart with the belt around his waist, that I realized that this guy, Bret Hart, kicked @$$!!! And ever since then I've been the biggest Bret Hart fan in South Jersey! Buying any Bret merchandise I saw, always picking Bret Hart in WWF Video Games Royal Rumble - Warzone, and when the next WCW game comes out, I'm sure he'll be my best too. Than after seeing Bret go through 5 Championship reigns, he left the WWF. I didn't know what to expect, was he going to go WCW or nWo or what? I still think he should have stayed in WWF, but, well, what can you do? Anyway, Starrcade rolled around and Bret Hart was the Guest Ref in the Zbysko/Bischoff match, which the Hitman handed over to Zbysko, and showed he was WCW 4-life, until the night after Spring Stampede, Randy Savage won the title from Sting the night before, and Hogan wanted a shot, Hogan won after Bret took out Savage, I was shocked by this, but not surprised, now I'm the biggest nWo fan I know because of Bret, between Spring Stampede and Road Wild I was an nWo fan, between Road Wild and a few weeks after War Games I was a Wolfpac/WCW fan, and now I'm an nWo fan again, it just goes to show, I don't follow any groups, I follow "The Hitman"!!!!!

I've only been watching wrestling since November of 1997. I first saw Bret on Nitro and have been an avid fan of his ever since. In the interim I have been searching out all of the old matches I could get my hands and have a nice little collection now. My favorite match to date( and I haven't seen them all yet ) was the submission match with Stone Cold.
In the short time I've watched wrestling I can honestly say that Bret is the best. I like his wrestling technique and I admire his ability to take punishment. It saddens me that I came into his career too late.I fear that he will retire when his contract is up with WCW and I really can't blame him. I know it must be a very hard life to be away from the people you love to satisfy fans that are less than appreciative.
I hope that I will see him wrestle one of these days . I can only hope that the fans start treating him with the respect that he deserves before they lose him forever.I really love this guy and I hate to see him being treated this way. Mark my words, he'll rise to his former greatness in the WCW and when he retires I'll be there watching.
 New,but true fan, Melanie
The first time I saw Bret hart was his first appearnce on Nitro. I had no clue who he was, I had never seen him before. But since that night less than a year ago, I have grown to respect and love him. His talent, whether he is a face or a heel, is most definitely an asset to WCW, and I expect to see him wearing the World Championship belt soon, hopefully within a year. Keep on going, Bret, your true fans will always respect and love you.

My favorite wrestler has always been Bret Hart. When I first saw him in 1992 and he was the WWF Intercontinental Champion, I was cheering for him and happy for him. My fondest memories was when he beat Yokozuna for his 2nd WWF World title but lost to his brother Owen Hart. Both brothers have been exceptional wrestlers mainly because they are mat technicians not power wrestlers like Hulk Hogan. When I saw Bret got "screwed" in his rematch with Shawn Michaels in the 1997 Survivor Series, it was like a dagger in my heart. I didn't want Bret to lose. I didn't want Bret to go to WCW, an organization I have grown to hate since they signed Scott Hall and Kevin Nash in 1996. At least Owen is still in the WWF. Lastly, I will just say that my loyalty to the WWF has not changed after the incident and I would support Owen and what he does. But when Bret comes on, I will flip the channel and watch him wrestle. He is the only WCW wrestler worth watching these days.
 Dxrulz19@aol.com
As I watched Nitro last night, watched Hart LOSE (middle of ring 3 count). As I watched Hart attack DDP with the chair and apply the sharpshooter. I remembered reading an article written by Hart. He was bragging about how he hasn't "injured or crippled" anyone because "he is the best there is, was or ever will be". When Bret was using the chair, the excellence of execution looked like a struggling mid-carder going for a heal push. I then remembered when the Hart Foundation was a mid-carder going for a heal push. This might be the beginning of Bret Hart climbing down the ladder of success.

My memories of Bret hart was just every time i saw him on raw as he has always been my favourite wrestler and he is a lot better than stone cold as he cant do any technical moves like bret, so please bret come back as it is not the same without you.
  Jagdeep sangha
The best memory about Bret is when he beat Stone cold after being out of the game for 7 months. But to be honest everything about Bret is a memory because hes the best.If only he'd come back to wwf and slap the dirt out of Shawn Michaels and start the Hart Foundation off again he'd be an even bigger memory in my eyes.
The biggest no.1 fan he has, Martyn Stockton
Dear Hitman, I am one of your best fans.
Best of luck. I have always wanted to meet you but I know it will never happen, you are the best there is,the best there was, and the best there ever will be. Maybe i'll see you in heaven!
  LOVE, Milan Smiljanic
Bret the Hitman Hart is the best he should beat Goldberg and have the world title. He's much better
  BHa8179260@aol.com
Bret Hitman Hart. No single word can some up how great this man is and what a legend he is. Vince Mcmahon, alot of words some him up also but he is the biggest lowest S.O.B that ever walked the face of this earth. Survivor Series 1997 was the greatest shame in professional wrestling. Bret kept the WWF alive when he came back. How loyal was this man to the WWF ? And how does he get repaid? By being screwed like a worthless piece of trash. If i had a chance i would deck Vince mcmahon for what he did. Bret you may never read this but i will always stand in your corner no matter what. And you truly are the best there is the best there was and the best there ever will be.
