Bret's smash hits ...
By BRET HART -- SLAM! Wrestling
I hope you enjoyed Big Sound as much as I got a kick out of doing it.
It was fun. See, I told ya I could sing!
I never thought that wrestling would open so many doors for me. When I think of all the talented singers and musicians who struggle for their big break, I can only hope that they're as fortunate to have the opportunities that I've had.
For a guy who really can't sing and isn't the world's greatest dancer, it's all in good fun when I get to record songs or be in music videos.
I was more amazed then anyone when I had a hit single in Europe back in '92. And how many people get to jam with mega bands like Metallica and Anthrax?
For me, it's all been good fun but I appreciate that there are so many starving artists who would do anything for the exposure. I love music, it's just the music industry that I wonder about sometimes.
The same goes for wrestling. I love wrestling but it's the business that is slimy.
I love to just be a fan and watch guys like Benoit and Jericho and Lance Storm. I appreciate how talented they are and how hard they work and I don't pay attention to the surrounding circus.
Being retired, I hadn't seen some of my wrestler friends for a while and we had a good time downing a few beers when they were in Calgary. I guess boys will be boys and we picked up where we left off, telling stories and laughing at awful jokes. Nah, I don't think I need to say excatly who they are except to say that they're true friends and it was fun to see them again.
My youngest son, Blade, turns 11 this week.
Where does time go!
When Blade was born, I was a tag-team guy with no title hoping for my big match with Demolition at SummerSlam ...
I predict New Jersey in seven, even though I'm cheering for Colorado.
