'Big Sexy' Kevin Nash has the date January 1, 2002 marked on his calendar -- that's the day that he becomes a free agent.
His contract with the former company known as WCW, officially known as Universal Wrestling Corporation now, expires on the last day of 2001. Nash doesn't think it will take long for him to return to action.
"As of right now, the plan is
for Scott [Hall] and I to work the Tokyo Dome show for New Japan Pro Wrestling on January 4, 2002 ... and then go from there. There have been some talks about an overseas tour to Australia after that," Nash wrote on his web site,
KevinNash.net.
Nash is hoping to be able to share the overseas experiences with fans back in North America. "I'm gonna see if I can obtain the rights to The Outsiders matches in Japan, so everyone can see - through my Website - how we're doing since we won't be on TV in the U.S. I'm thinking about doing a documentary of the Japan Tour, which will include a few days before the trip, our travels, our adventures and more."
The forced time out of the ring has apparently been good for Nash. He thanked Vince McMahon for buying WCW and keeping him on the sidelines and spending time with his son. Plus, his body has been healing. "My body feels great. The stress involved with being a professional wrestler is incredible, and I'm not enduring that right now, which is good."
The former world champ also said that through his agent, he is trying to get some acting roles.
