Chris Daniels signs with Stampede
Arriving back in the U.S. after a European tour, Chris Daniels has signed on the dotted line and made himself a part of Stampede's
re-launch tour. The former WCW star, considered by many to be the number one
free agent on the market today, will join Mike Modest, Bruce Hart, Eddie
Mustang and more superstars on the Mid-Summer's Nightmare tour of Alberta
this June.
"I'm happy to be a part of the re-launch of Stampede Wrestling" Daniels told
StampedeWrestling.com. "Stampede has a long history of wrestling greatness,
and when you talk about wrestling greatness, you have to talk about
Christopher Daniels. I'm looking forward to testing myself against the best
that Stu Hart's Dungeon has to offer. The Stampede boys better say their
prayers, because The Fallen Angel is coming to Calgary!"
Daniels had to endure the same fate many of WCW's most diligent workers did
when his contract fell through as a result of the company being sold to the
WWF in March. WWF officials have been keeping a close eye on Daniels' work
as of late; last fall he went one-on-one with former WWF World Champion Kurt
Angle in the main event of a show in L.A. for WWF developmental territory
UPW. His fans hope that the WWF continue to take note of Daniels'
performances next month, when he travels to the heartland of pro wrestling.
Specific dates for the Alberta tour are forthcoming in the next couple of
days, as are further announcements of talent slated to compete.
