With manager Miss Tammy and the Deadline Dolls in his corner, Deadline Doug
Lunney can't lose. - James O'Connor, Winnipeg Sun

The look on Gordon Norrie's face was priceless.
"I've got this idea," I told the Winnipeg Sun publisher as I sat in his
office. "I've been offered a chance to train with the people from Top Rope
Championship Wrestling, who want to put me in a match later this month.

THE 'REPUGNANT' VANCE NEVADA: About to sample a heapin' helpin' of whup-ass.
|
"Then I'll write a column about what it was like to be a pro wrestler. What
do you think?"
Once he realized I wasn't kidding, Norrie said he loved the idea. A night
later I was introduced to the fans at the Palladium Nite Club by promoter
Bobby Jay, only to be attacked by the repugnant Vance Nevada and his cronies
Rob Stardom and Chris Parys.
Well, Vance, a couple of the boys at TRCW have put me through torturous
training the past few weeks, but tonight all the bodyslams, bruises and rope
burns will be worth it.
Tonight at the Palladium, when Deadline Doug Lunney steps through the ropes
-- led by the lovely Miss Tammy and the Deadline Dolls -- Vance Nevada will
discover he messed with the wrong dude.
The match is part of TRCW's Summer Heat 2001, which also includes: The
7-foot-3 Cyborg vs. TRCW champion Adam Knight; a tag title bout between the
MVPs and No Heat; Team Impact vs. Darren Dalton, Robby Royce and The Axe; T.J.
Bratt vs. Shane Madison; Jay vs. Mike Myers; the mighty midgets; a 10-man tag
match; and a barbed-wire death match between Stardom and The Sheik.
The action starts at 9 p.m. Rush seats are $5 at the door. Get there early,
Deadliners. I plan to make short work of Nevada as I've got to work tomorrow
morning.
Blasted day jobs.
