There is no way out for Stone Cold and Triple H
By GLENN COLE -- Toronto Sun

There will be blood spilled -- no doubt a few capsules worth -- tomorrow at No Way Out.

That is because Stone Cold Steve Austin will meet the hateful Triple H in a match to settle their feud ... for now.

No holds barred. Best two-of-three falls. Scores to settle. All that hype.

Actually, this should be one those minor pay-per-views that delivers.

There is no doubt that there is enmity between Austin and the wrestler formerly known as Hunter Hearst Helmsley who arguably are the top two performers employed in Vince McMahon's wrestling emporium.

Meanwhile, Kurt Angle, the insufferable Olympic champion from Pittsburgh, will put the heavyweight championship on the line against the Rock.

Heavy speculation is that the Rock will take away the title, thus setting up a Wrestlemania final between the Rock and Austin in Houston next month.

It makes sense. Wrestlemania is the No. 1 pay-per-view, the one everybody watches. And a Rock-Austin battle would produce a bigger buy-rate than, let's say, Angle vs. Austin.

That way, they can legitimize charging $5 more for the show and the folks in Houston will feel as though they are getting their money's worth.

OFF THE TOP ROPE: Real life. Real TV. We imagine that Stephanie McMahon took a long, hot shower after the most recent Smackdown. McMahon got a face full of horse manure and then had a bucket of brownish liquid poured over her near the end of the show by Trish, whom she meets tomorrow ... It appears X-Pac, fresh off injured reserve, and Justin Credible, fresh from the ECW, have formed an alliance ... Except for a bogus title match between Kevin Nash and Scott Steiner where the rules seemed to change every minute, the WCW pay-per-view this past weekend was more than passable ... The WWF and Molson have a new sponsorship agreement. Some of the new ads already have appeared but the campaign officially starts Monday on Raw ... Smackdown on UPN finished 83rd in the U.S. TV ratings last week. That is six positions better than the XFL on NBC, which tied for 89th (last) among prime-time shows ... Hottest rumour is that Shawn Michaels will be at Wrestlemania in his home state of Texas to battle Triple-H ... The WCW has launched a new cruiserweight tag-team division, part of a plan to promote cruiserweight performers such as Billy Kidman and Rey Mysterio Jr.

MOVING ON UP: The Original Sinn and Flesh Gordon are leaving the Apocalypse Wrestling Federation and are headed for Memphis where they will try to perfect themselves for a shot at the WWF. They were trained by Ron Hutchison, a longtime performer for Maple Leaf Wrestling. Hutchison helped the always entreating Edge and Christian get their start ... Powerslam Wrestling Extreme will be in Cambridge next Friday night at the Cambridge Newfie Club, 1500 Dunbar Rd. Bell time is 7:39. Bloody Bill Skullion will meet Notorious T.I.D. in the featured bout on the card. ... The following night in Guelph, the IWF will be in action at 7 at the Royal Canadian Legion on York Rd. Performer include Billy Boogie, Marco Malaquias, Showtime Eric Young, Jacob Cain, Dane Jarris, Dangerboy and Derek Wylde ... The next AWF show is on March 25 at Cactus Pete's, 472 Birchmount Rd. ... Border Cities Wrestling is another indy that is alive and kicking near Windsor. It has a show on March 7 in Gloucester at the Ciociaro Club. Sabu, who is the BCW Can-Am champion. ECW star Rhino, Scott D'Amore and Johnny Damon are among those on the card.
