Glenn Kulka faces legal bout

By LISA LISLE and JASON CUMMING -- Ottawa Sun

Glenn Kulka. -- Greg Oliver, CANOE
Hulking WWF wannabe and former CFL all-star Glenn Kulka has a rematch next month against Lady Justice.

The 35-year-old former Ottawa Rough Rider defensive end was charged with impaired driving after a four-vehicle crash on Hwy. 417, near Parkdale Ave. Monday night.

OPP say a vehicle rear-ended another vehicle just before 11 p.m. Both drivers stopped their vehicles and were standing on the side of the road when two more cars slammed into the wreckage. A female passenger was taken to hospital.

Reached at his longtime girlfriend's home yesterday, Kulka was tight-lipped, but said he was okay.

"I've obviously been told what to say, and that's 'No comment,' " Kulka said.

It's not the 270-lb. pounder's first tangle in the legal ring.

The Gloucester resident pleaded guilty and was fined $300 in March 1992 for cocaine possession.

The CFL also slapped him with a $500 fine and ordered him to act as the league's anti-drug spokesman.

The beefy ballplayer's promising WWF career got off to a rough start two years ago when he broke his leg during a match.

But dad Stan Kulka told the Sun last night his son just inked a three-year deal with the popular entertainment powerhouse.

"They're just trying to come up with some kind of identity for him," the elder Kulka said from his Edmonton home. "I just hope he gets the break to get on the tube. He's hard as nails."

He'll be back in court Feb. 24.
