Stone cold ices boss

PARTS UNKNOWN -- Just when you thought Stone Cold Steve Austin had used up every gimmick in the book, he drops another stunner on you.

An agitated Austin stormed into RAW Monday, driving a Zamboni. After barging into the ring, knocking it back a foot or two, he scrambled onto the roof and flew over the ropes to deliver a clothesline to WWF owner and chief heel Vince McMahon.

Why?

Just one day previous, at the WWF Breakdown pay-per-view, McMahon left with Austin's championship belt after declaring a double pinfall. Kane and Undertaker had delivered a double chokeslam to Austin.

Monday, McMahon was about to announce the new champion when Austin arrived to inflict some pain. After Austin was led away in cuffs by security police, with Kane and Undertaker silently watching, McMahon announced that the two men from the dark side would meet each other at the next pay-per-view as punishment for not protecting his backside. He also forced them to team up and face Mankind, The Rock and Ken Shamrock later in RAW.

After taunting Undertaker and Kane one too many times, McMahon was again pummelled and was "injured" when Undertaker rammed the steel steps onto his leg.

Later, after battling his own partners for much of the match, The Rock would pin Undertaker, who would then exchange angry words with Kane.

Wow! What a night it was!

HARTS ON FIRE: Monday was a big night for both Owen and Bret Hart. On RAW, Owen delivered a pile driver to Dan Severn, that left "The Beast" lying motionless in the ring, apparently paralyzed. It was the same finishing hold that Hart accidentally missed with on Austin more than a year ago. Austin was nearly paralyzed for real and was out of action for a long period of time. Apparently, this one wasn't for real. But it is part of the storyline which will leave Owen unable to fight on the next RAW, feeling guilty because of his piledriver to Severn. Meanwhile, over on WCW Nitro, Owen's older brother Bret did a little twisting and turning of his own, turning on Sting and rejoining his old buddy, Hollywood Hogan.

AROUND THE WWF: Terri Runnels (Marlena) is back with a bang. She appeared in Val Venis' corner, wearing next to nothing, at Breakdown. And, surprise, Runnels' real-life hubby Dustin has returned to being Goldust. It'd make perfect sense in the wacky world of the WWF for Goldust to now unleash his affection on Venis ... At Breakdown, Hart beat Edge; Al Snow and Scorpio beat Too Much; Marc Mero beat Darren Drozdov; Bradshaw beat Vader; D-Lo Brown upset Gangrel; Rock defeated Mankind and Shamrock in a No. 1 contender Triple-Threat match; Venis over Runnels; X-Pac and New Age Outlaws defeated Jeff Jarrett and Southern Justice ... The Jim Carrey-Jerry Lawler altercation was an angle, but was taken for real by media across North America. Look for Carrey to pop up soon in the WWF ... A New Age Outlaws breakup was teased, with Billy Gunn walking out of the arena Monday. Hope this doesn't happen. It could be an opportunity to put Shawn Michaels into the picture, with Hunter Hearst Helmsley out of action for two months or so ... Big Boss Man (Ray Traylor) is WWF-bound. Also look for Steven Regal (A Man's Man) to pop up soon, and Dr. Death Steve Williams to return in a month or so.

WCW BITS: Biggest news could be the imminent departure of The Giant. Could he be heading for the WWF? Stay tuned ... Couldn't the WCW start giving the Four Horsemen a bigger push? They are the glue that could put all the fragmented pieces back together ... Where is the Scott Hall angle heading? Sandman should show up within the next month or two.
