Parting shot for Hitman
Escape clause will allow Hart to bolt WWF for WCW

By MR. X -- Ottawa Sun
PARTS UNKNOWN -- Just when the World Wrestling Federation figured the biggest noise this week would be Steve Austin dropping a Stone Cold Stunner on Owen Hart, Bret Hart dropped a big bombshell of his own.

The Hitman, the WWF's champion who is scheduled to defend his belt against Shawn Michaels tomorrow night at the Survivor Series in Montreal, has told the WWF he is leaving as of Dec. 7, presumably to join World Championship Wrestling.

Hart, apparently, had an escape clause after one year of his contract and he's chosen to exercise it, leaving for more money, perhaps as much as $3 million per year. But hold on, there's got to be more to it, doesn't there? And could Owen Hart be on his way out next? It'll be interesting to see how this unfolds.

It'll also be interesting to see if Hart jobs and loses his title to Michaels, an adversary he bitterly despises in real life.

KULKA DEBUTS: Former Ottawa Rough Rider star Glenn Kulka will likely make his WWF wrestling debut at Monday's RAW is WAR show at the Corel Centre. He's scheduled to face Sexton Hardcastle. He's been told to show up at tomorrow's Survivor Series in Montreal, but likely won't get to wrestle after being bumped off Team Canada along with Tiger Ali Singh. The lineup now has British Bulldog, Owen Hart, Doug Furnas and Phillip Lafon facing the U.S. team of Vader, Marc Mero, Goldust and a mystery partner, likely the "fan" who jumped into the ring at last week's RAW show. Kulka, 33, has high hopes for his trial with the WWF. At 6-foot-3, 272 lbs., he's got the size. Now it's up to the WWF to figure out if he's got the look. He's worked out extensively in Bret Hart's home and has done extensive and exhausting tours of Northern Ontario and the Maritimes to prepare. "It's a very selfish business," he says. "You have to make sure you don't let the other guy make you look stupid. You live or die by the sword." Kulka has dubbed his finishing hold the Kulka Krunch.

AROUND THE WWF: There are still plenty of tickets left for Monday's RAW is War show. Action begins at 8 p.m., with TSN picking up the show live at 9. There's another show the next night in Cornwall ... Sable was a show-stopper at last week's RAW. The dressing room footage was an uplifting moment. Too bad TSN cut it out for the replays ... There's also an angle with Goldust and Marlena. Goldust announced he was sick of the lies, he'd found someone else and was leaving his wife ... Shawn Michaels has promised to walk out naked to the ring during the Ottawa show. Would anyone notice? Jerry Lawler tabbed it DeGeneration Sex ... Stone Cold Steve Austin has promised to thrash Owen Hart at Survivor Series, scheduled to begin on pay-per-view at 6:30 p.m. It was Hart who dumped Austin on his head with a piledriver, causing Austin's current injured status. "I'm going to beat the hell out of him," says Austin. "I'm not just a little p---ed off at what happened."
