Goldberg is 'Da Man!

Goldberg  William Scott Goldberg, just Goldberg to you and me, is the new WCW World Champion.

And to do it, he had to win twice on Monday Nitro.

Early in the night, Hollywood Hogan declared that he would face Goldberg only if he could beat Scott Hall.

Well, Goldberg jackhammered Hall for the win and the right to face the champ.

In the main event, there were the usual distractions that accompany a Hogan match these days. But in the end, Hogan was surprised by Diamond Dallas Page and Karl Malone being at ringside and was even more surprised when Goldberg jackhammered him for the pin.

Give Hogan credit. He did the job. He doesn't need the belt for heat at the moment, and is still in the main event at this weekend's Bash at the Beach.

We hope to have video clips and still shots from the show, just as soon as TSN elects to show Nitro in Canada.
