Hogan no hero in SuperBrawl

By MR. X -- Ottawa Sun
PARTS UNKNOWN -- Hollywood Hogan. What a hero. What a legend. What an ego!

Sure Hogan lost his match against Sting for the WCW heavyweight championship at last Sunday's SuperBrawl. But it couldn't be a clean finish. Nah, Hogan wouldn't allow that. Sting won only because of the interference of Macho Man Randy Savage and the unexpected unbiased officiating of Nick Patrick.

In other SuperBrawl matches, Booker T defeated both Rick Martel and Saturn in separate matches. Disco Inferno beat La Parka. Bill Goldberg defeated Brad Armstrong. Juventud Guerrera was forced to pull off his mask with a loss to Chris Jerricho. British Bulldog defeated Steve McMichael. Diamond Dallas Page beat Chris Benoit. Lex Luger beat Randy Savage. Scott Steiner turned on his brother Rick as the Outsiders defeated the Steiners.

AROUND THE WWF: Pete Rose will appear at WrestleMania as ring announcer. Before he bets on any of the matches, wonder if he knows they're fixed? ... Sunny and Chyna scuffled for real a week ago at RAW ... Steve Austin and Kane will meet face to face at RAW this Monday. Don't count out an appearance by the Undertaker, setting up a WrestleMania match. ... D-Generation X has vowed to turn the WWF upside down in the next few weeks ... WWF owner Vince McMahon had some uncomplimentary comments about Bret Hart on TSN's Off The Record this week, including: "Bret was becoming a pain in the ass. He was a crybaby." McMahon also said the WWF's adult-oriented entertainment on RAW was not the wrong direction to take. "It is all things that would happen in everyday life. Things we see in Hollywood. There are no guns, knives or rapes or anything along that line. It's pure entertainment." ... The breakup of the Legion of Doom was another RAW angle. Also, Jeff Jarrett implied he had left manager Jim Cornette. And, in another breakup scenario, Kurrgan looks like he's heading away from his Truth Commission flunkees ... TSN will air a WrestleMania special March 23 at 8 p.m., followed by a two-hour live RAW show ... According to the WrestleZone website, the woman in Shawn Michaels' home during the RAW segment was his fiance, Becky Roberts.

WCW BITS: Newest member of the nWo Scott Steiner is being called White Thunder. Another new nWo recruit is The Disciple (Brutus Beefcake, aka Ed Leslie) ... Look for Hall and Hogan to face Sting and Macho Man at the next Nitro. The main event for the Uncensored pay-per-view is Savage vs. Hogan in a cage. Also expected to fight are Hall vs. Sting and Nash vs. The Giant ... The mysterious Ultimate Warrior is ready to return to the ring, but his destination is unknown. The WWF is unlikely.
