What does every game player want? What does every game player need? No. Not
Al Snow's inanimate valet silly but options, options and more options.
Acclaim is poised to deliver that and more to wrestling fans as the
anticipated sequel to WWF War Zone nears its release date.
Taking their cue from last year's blockbuster THQ WCW / nWo Revenge
release, WWF Attitude for the Nintendo 64 entertainment system will augment
the original format expanding War Zone's meager roster of 18 playable
wrestlers to over 70. Forty recognizable WWF superstars are to be included.
Players have a choice of thirty starting the game and the other ten are
secret characters. The remaining thirty are fantasy grapplers specifically
designed for the game.
Each wrestler will have more moves, their own taunts, themes and ring
entrances which can be mixed and matched in the improved wrestler editor.
Now players can revise a wrestler's look, moves and change the voices too.
The feature that has fans frothing at the mouth though is the "career mode"
option. Imitating real-life as other sports games have, players in 'career
mode' start at the bottom of the WWF climbing the ladder for a shot at the
European, Intercontinental and World titles. You begin as a jobber at house
shows working your way up to appearances on Raw Is War and pay-per-views.
Matches you can compete in could include Survivor Series, King Of The Ring,
Three-Ways, Two-Out-Of-Three Falls, I Quit, Falls Count Anywhere, Texas
Death, Lumberjack, Steel Cage and Weapon matches. There's also the ominous
sounding Nuclear War match. What's that? Who the heck knows?
WWF Attitude is scheduled to arrive in stores some time in May.
