Hogan tries to regain his title at SuperBrawl

By MR. X -- Ottawa Sun
PARTS UNKNOWN -- In Hollywood Hogan's rose-colored glasses world, tomorrow night's SuperBrawl WCW pay-per-view would see him regain his heavyweight championship.

If he does defeat Sting, it could be far from an ending fit for Hollywood.

In fact, it could come down to downright chicanery, if a plotline which would allow former nWo ref Nick Patrick to officiate, unfolds as it seems, Hogan could once again be wearing the gold.

It would probably make more sense for the WCW to have Patrick double cross Hogan ... but the WCW rarely makes decisions which make sense.

Also at SuperBrawl, Diamond Dallas Page defends his U.S. title against Chris Benoit. Randy Savage faces Lex Luger with no DQs. Chris Jericho defends his cruiserweight title against Juventud Guerrera, with Guerrera's mask at stake.

The Steiner Brothers defend their tag titles against Scott Hall and Kevin Nash. Rick Martel defends his newly-won TV title against Booker T, with the winner facing Perry Saturn.

AROUND THE WWF: Ahmed Johnson, who wrestled as Tony Norris in the ECW, is out of the WWF. "Ahmed has had some problems confusing Ahmed Johnson and Tony Norris," WWF owner Vince McMahon said. "It's almost as though you were looking at my first report card. Does not play well with others. He was hurt an awful lot and he hurt other competitors, as well, unnecessarily." One story circulating suggests Ahmed wouldn't job to Kurrgan, thus he was given the boot ... One rumor says Magic Johnson will join Mike Tyson as a celebrity at WrestleMania. Expect an announcement Monday ... Sable fell out of her top, literally, on RAW ... Stone Cold Steve Austin provided the highlight of No Way Out, stunning Road Dog Jesse James to win the 4-on-4 match (Savio Vega subbed for Shawn Michaels), then dropped Chyna with yet another stunner. Kane KO'd Vader with a wrench. The Headbangers won over Marc Mero and Goldust with Sable and Luna scrapping as well. Justin Hawk Bradshaw won by DQ over Jeff Jarrett. Taka Michinoko defeated Pantera ... John Tenta (Earthquake) is back for a trial ... Dok Hendrix (formerly Michael P.S. Hayes of the Freebirds) got the Kane treatment on RAW ... There could be a 15-man battle royal at WrestleMania.

WCW BITS: On Nitro, Sting and Luger beat Hogan and Savage by DQ when the nWo ran in. Bret Hart and Ric Flair saved Sting and Luger ... Louie Spicolli died of an overdose of Soma, a muscle relaxant. Brian Adams (Crush) appeared on Nitro to watch Hart's back ... He then turned on Hart, revealing his nWo allegiance.
