Controversy headed to the house of Raw

By MR. X -- Ottawa Sun
PARTS UNKNOWN -- The WWF is kickin' tail in the ratings war with WCW.

But WWF owner Vince McMahon is sure not ready to sit back and let the product sell itself.

Wrestling insiders are saying two angles on the next RAW, which was taped last Tuesday, sizzle with controversy.

We won't spoil the fun. But Monday's main angle promises to sicken and disgust some. While others will shake their heads in disbelief.

If the plotline, involving the Undertaker, comes around as it happened last week, it's important to remember that this is NOT real life. Pro wrestling is an athletic soap opera and the WWF has decided to push its theatrics to the limit.

AROUND THE WWF: Last week's RAW lagged a bit, but did include an ongoing chase between Undertaker, Kane and Steve Austin. It ended with Undertaker, in a case of mistaken identity, hauled off to the nuthouse and Paul Bearer tossed head-first down a sewer by Kane and Stone Cold ... Looks like D-Lo Brown and Mark Henry are getting a boost towards becoming fan faves. Henry took Chyna on a date, with D-Lo tricked into being the chauffeur. Henry was forced to defend Chyna in a bar. Funny skit ... Hunter Hearst Helmsley is back ... The New Age Outlaws are being courted by Mr. McMahon's corporate entourage. Oooooh, you didn't know? Let's hope they call somebody and tell the corporates to stick it ... Mankind lost his hardcore title to Big Bossman, thanks to the corporates ... Look for something to heat up between Jackie and Terri Runnels, maybe a romance ... ECW's Blue Meanie has burst into the WWF with a bang ... Marc Mero said he'd retire if he lost to Dwayne Gill, and he did, thanks to the J.O.B. squad, but don't count on Mero hanging up his trunks just yet ... Speaking of the J.O.B. squad, one rumour has Public Enemy signing up ... Word is Pittsburgh Steelers fullback Jerome Bettis is talking to the WWF ... The BlueBlazer is Owen Hart, or is it Jeff Jarrett, or is it Steve Blackman? ... Did you know that at one point, McMahon wanted to put a love interest into the Undertaker angle, calling her Scarlett? But the real-life Mrs. 'Taker didn't want her hubbie involved in the angle.

WCW BITS: Diamond Dallas Page lost his U.S. title to Bret Hart on Nitro. And Chris Jericho lost his TV title to Konnan ... Scott Hall flipped his Cadillac in Orlando last week when he fell asleep at the wheel, at 2:30 a.m. ... Big Papa Pump (Scott Steiner) is the new nWo black leader. And, outside of the ring, he's in hot water for an altercation with a state Dept. of Transportation worker.
