Both Owen and his brother Bret looked a little worse for the wear following
a recent skirmish in Calgary.
Turns out Bret had his arm broken by a girl and Owen had his leg shattered
by a law officer.
Not to worry, however, it was all part of an episode of Honey I Shrunk the
Kids in which the two wrestlers were cast as themselves.
Filmed recently at the old army barracks off Crowchild, the Disney
production had an episode called Honey I'm Wrestling the Problem in which the
brothers get into an argument with their dinner hosts over whether wrestling
is fake or not.
They take the disagreement to the backyard for a few demonstration holds
and that's when the family's daughter injures Bret and the sheriff next door
slams Owen.
"It was worse than taking a real bump in the ring because it was filmed
outside in the freezing cold at about 3 a.m," said Owen. "They needed to get a
shot from every angle, so this big fat sheriff had to slam me over and over
again."
Don't worry wrestling fans, the arm and leg casts in the accompanying photo
are fake and the two will be back with their respective wrestling federations
tonight.
