Hit Man celebrates title win with Toronto fans
TORONTO - Canadian World Wrestling Federation superstar Bret "The Hit Man" Hart wowed over a thousand fans at Toronto Pearson International Airport yesterday morning. Hart stopped in Toronto on his way back to his home city of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, after winning the WWF World Title for a fifth time at the WWF's Summerslam in East Rutherford, New Jersey last Sunday night.
Hart, who was traveling with his seven-year-old son, Blade, became emotional at the sight of the massive turnout.
"What a welcome back to Canada!," said Hart to the dedicated fans. "This is really great."
Fans cheered and sang "Oh' Canada" until Hart made his appearance. Some fans had been waiting since 5 a.m. to catch a glimpse of the new WWF Champ. Airport officials and security were overwhelmed by the fan turnout and had to reroute passengers within the airport causing a bottleneck at Terminal 2.
For Hart, it is the fifth occasion he's won the WWF World Title.
Previously with his partner and brother-in-law Jim (The Anvil) Niedhart, Hart twice wore WWF World Tag Team gold as The Hart Foundation and as a singles competitor he held the Intercontinental Title twice as well.
