B.C. set for cages and chains
By GREG OLIVER --SLAM! Sports
There will be wrestling mayhem this weekend in B.C. Promise.
Take, for instance, Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling, which runs
shows Friday and Saturday. The event on Saturday is definitely unique --
NOTHING BUT CAGE MATCHES!

"[It's] a special treat for the fans," explained ECCW wrestler Michelle
Starr to SLAM! Wrestling. "Get our top guys in there and have all cage
matches."
The card on Saturday is in Chilliwack, B.C. at the Princess Armouries.
The cage matches include Headshrinker Fatu vs "Ironman" Mike Roselli,
Glamour Order of Disipline (GOD) vs Dog Pound Order (dPo), Mr. Gillis vs
Lumberjack Bubba, "Rocket" Randy Tyler vs Akam Singh, Torch vs
'Dirty' Dan Denton and Lorena The Blonde Bombshell vs Grusome Annie.
Starr should know something about cage matches from his job years ago
working for the WWF in Calfornia setting up rings.
"It's definitely easier to have the cage up before the show than to try
and do it while the fans are there!" he laughed.
Friday night sees dueling shows in New Westminster, B.C., as ECCW and
International Championship Wrestling, run by Streetfighter Tim Flowers,
put on shows about six blocks apart.
The ICW show is at the Royal Westminster Regimental Armories, 530
Queens Avenue. The card features a Battle Royal featuring
Bad News Allen, "Street Fighter"
Timothy Flowers vs. AoD's Dr. Luther; Combat Girl vs. The Tijuana Kid; "Heart
Throb" Buddy Wayne vs. AoD's Abaddon and Dr. Bob Miller & "The Atomic
Playboy" Rick Richards vs. AoD's Incubus & Leviathan.
Friday night's ECCW show is at the F.O.E. "Eagles" Hall. Matches
include Chief Billy Two Eagles vs Headshrinker Fatu in an Indian Strap
Match, Mr. Gillis (c) vs "Rocket" Randy Tyler for the NWA/ECCW title,
Dog Pound Order (dPo) vs Portland Connection, Tag title match: Glamour
Order of Discipline (GOD) (c) vs Winner of above match (the winner of
the Number 1 Tag Contender's Match will face GOD, a lucky fan will spin
the Extreme Match Wheel and that match will take place), "Ironman" Mike
Roselli vs Akam Singh; Torch vs Larry Zybysco Jr., and "Dirty" Dan Denton vs Lumberjack
Bubba.
Starr admitted to being disappointed that both the ICW and ECCW shows
were on the same night.
"[It] splits the wrestling crowd, because the fans go to both events,"
he said. "Now they have to decide what show to go to."
