Warrior makes ultimate return to squared circle

By MR. X -- Ottawa Sun
PARTS UNKNOWN -- World Championship Wrestling had an Ultimate surprise in store for its fans Monday night.

In the end, the surprise was really no surprise, but it sure sent a powerful message to the rival World Wrestling Federation.

The Ultimate Warrior, former WWF champ, finally made his debut on WCW's Nitro in spectacular fashion with a grand entrance and impressive 15-minute dialogue with Hollywood Hogan.

The Warrior, apparently, is committed to less than 20 appearances with WCW over a six-month period, but his popularity could do some serious damage to the WWF.

Look for Warrior to announce an alliance of his own on the next Nitro (One Warrior Nation, nWo backwards?), perhaps including his former tag-team partner with the Blade Runners, Sting (with the short blond hair back?).

WWF BITS: Monday's taped RAW show featured a great finish with Stone Cold Steve Austin calling out the Undertaker. The 'Taker came out to the ring and went face to face with Austin. Except, it wasn't the Undertaker ... it was Kane (or was it?). After the match, Austin stuffed his opponent into a waiting hearse, but as the show faded out, we saw the Undertaker at the wheel ... We were also introduced to a great new character, Gangrel, in real life Dave Heath, who was formerly known as the Vampire Warrior. Gangrel's vampire clan character is derived from a role-playing game ... Val Venis fought his way through three members of Kaientai before being stopped by Taka ... Edge may be Sable's mystery partner against Jackie and Marc Mero at Summer Slam next weekend. Another possibility is Al Snow, who will get a big push soon ... Also, at Summer Slam, Owen Hart will meet Ken Shamrock in a lion's den match, fought in a nine-foot-deep pit. Hart has aligned himself with Dan Severn, which could indicate a split with the Nation ... Look for Droz to replace Hawk in LOD 2000 ... Severn will meet Shamrock on the next RAW, live from Philly. Shawn Michaels may also be on hand.

AROUND THE WCW: The Giant-Goldberg match on Nitro was way too short ... Eddy Guerrero's Nitro rant on being under appreciated was great, with some great shots directed at Eric Bischoff. This could work out to be a good angle.
