Hitman set to lace 'em up?

Bret Hart's official web site is reporting that the Hitman is on his way to the very cities where WCW has shows planned over the next couple of days.

The site, at www.brethart.net, reported that Hart "left Calgary bound for San Francisco, Reno, and Los Angeles. Can it be just a coincidence that WCW has shows in those very same cities this weekend?"

Rumour had it that WCW wanted Bret to return for Monday's Nitro, which will receive at least some mainstream attention with KISS booked for the show, and Bill Goldberg's Universal Soldier: The Return movie now in theatres (though not to good reviews).

In his Calgary Sun column, which appears exclusively on SLAM! Wrestling, Hart said "maybe the best way for me to see if I still have the heart for [wrestling] is to simply get on an airplane, fly to wherever WCW has a match, walk in, tell Eric Bischoff I have something I want to prove, put on my tights, lace up my boots, and go back to work."

He was also complimentary of Hollywood Hogan's return to the red and yellow, saying that it seemed like a genuine hero had come back to life.

Speculation is that Hogan and Hart are headed towards a major feud over the WCW World title, with Hart likely coming out on top at the World War III pay-per-view, rumoured to be set in Toronto. The rematch would then happen at Starrcade.
