Cold night for McMahon

By MR. X -- Ottawa Sun
PARTS UNKNOWN -- Just when you think Stone Cold Steve Austin has shown you just about everything, he drops another stunner on you.

Vince McMahon was forced to accept a challenge to wrestle Stone Cold on RAW Monday night. The angle played out superbly, with Dude Love coming to Vinnie's defence. McMahon defiantly pushed the Dudester out of the way.

The ensuing skirmish was disappointing for those who wanted to see Vinnie get dropped on his noggin.

And it won't end there. The following night, in the taping for this Monday's RAW, McMahon and Austin once again wound up face to face, with another stunning ending.

RAW zoomed along with several great storylines continuing. Faarooq got help from Ken Shamrock and Steve Blackman in his battle with Rocky Maivia and the Nation of Domination.

The Undertaker and Kane continued their war of words with the younger brother challenging the Undertaker to meet at their parents' gravesite.

Flash Funk re-emerged as 2 Cold Scorpio, another hardcore legend, to team with Terry Funk.

The gimmicks obviously worked. RAW defeated Nitro in the TV ratings war, after losing 83 straight weeks.

BACK IN OTTAWA: In case you missed it, the WWF returns to Ottawa May 22 at the Corel Centre. Matches include Austin vs. Maivia; Undertaker vs. Kane; Legion of Doom vs. New Age Outlaws; Owen Hart vs. Hunter Hearst Helmsley; Marc Mero with Sable vs. Goldust with Luna; and Vader vs. Kurrgan. Tickets range from $12 to $25.

AROUND THE RING: Ric Flair is in hot water with the WCW. Some are suggesting he's been fired, others say he's been suspended. Still other skeptics say this could be part of a ruse. Stay tuned ... Dude Love will host a 'Love Shack' segment on RAW ... The Arts and Entertainment Network is scheduled to air Part 1 of The Unreal Story of Professional Wrestling April 26, at 8 p.m. ... Steven Regal has signed with the WWF ... Hollywood Hogan appeared on Jay Leno Monday.
