  • Tiger Jeet Singh and his son Tiger Ali Singh will be addressing Brampton, Ontario's City Council on Wednesday, June 19th at 1:00 p.m. at Brampton’s City Hall. The Tigers will be on hand to officially invite everyone to attend Brampton's TigerFest as part of this year’s Canada Day Celebrations. "TigerFest is a significant charity event in our City," said Mayor Susan Fennell "and I am proud to see it as part of our exciting Canada Day celebrations on Monday, July 1, 2013."

  • Memphis wrestling legend Jackie Fargo has been hospitalized the prognosis is apparently grim.

  • Former pro wrestler and promoter Joe Bailey passed away on Sunday, June 16, at the age of 59 from cancer. He owned Bad 2 the Bone Pro Wrestling out of Bardstown, Kentucky. Joe was the father of pro wrestler Joseph Carl "J.C." Bailey, Jr., who competed in Combat Zone Wrestling and IWA Mid-South,and died on August 30, 2010 from a brain aneurysm at the age of 27.

  • Today is the 45th birthday of Minoru Suzuki, Japanese wrestler and co-founder of the Pancrase MMA promotion. Also celebrating is Len Davis, the owner of Real Quality Wrestling, a British pro wrestling company – visit http://www.rqwtv.com/ for more details on the company.

  • PWInsider.com is reporting the death of Al "The Dog" Green, at the age of 58. Green teamed with Marcus Laurinaitis in the Wrestling Crew and with Kevin Nash as half of the Master Blasters.

  • The Undertaker is raffling off one of his motorcycles for charity. Unfortunately, Canadians are not eligible to win. But it’s still worth going to the link to see the Undertaker cut an out-of-character promo wearing a Kenny Rogers beard and a hipster hat. Here's the link.

  • Michael Elgin announced on Facebook that he and Rachel Collins -- MsChif -- are now engaged.

  • Instead of a PPV, TNA Destination X will be a part of Impact on July 18 from Louisville, Kentucky.

  • Bonne fête to Jacques Rougeau who turns 53 today.

  • On this date in 2009, one of the best wrestlers in history, Japan’s Mitsuharu Misawa, died in the ring during a match. Misawa took a belly-to-back suplex and was knocked unconscious -- he was taken to a hospital, but never recovered, and his death was called later that night. Speculation is that the suplex severed his spinal cord which in turn triggered a heart attack. SLAM! Wrestling’s coverage of the tragedy is here.

  • British Columbia wrestlers Harv & Gurv Sihra -- the Bollywood Boyz -- were featured in a sports story on OMNI Punjabi news two nights ago. It is in both English and Punjabi.

  • Today is the 54th birthday of Terry "Magnum T.A." Allen. For you youngsters out there, Allen was one of the most popular wrestlers in the NWA during the mid-'80s who had epic feuds with the Four Horsemen and then afterwards with Nikita Koloff. It seemed that Allen was on track to win the NWA Heavyweight Championship, but a major automobile accident in 1986 ended his career many years too soon. Though he never competed in the WWE, it would not be surprising to see him one day inducted into the company’s Hall of Fame. One of the greatest wrestling managers of all time, "Grand Wizard" Ernie Roth was born on this date in 1929. The WWE Hall of Famer passed away in 1983 due to cancer.

  • TNA announced that Bound For Glory will be in San Diego, Calif., on October 20, 2013, at Viejas Arena/San Diego State University. Tickets go on sale June 7.

  • There was a roast of the Iron Sheik last night in Los Angeles at the Legendary Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip. The Ultimate Warrior even turned out.

  • Yabba dabba doo! WWE announced Wednesday that it will be teaming with Warner Brothers on an animated Flintsones movie, that will revolve around a storyline about the birth of WWE in prehistoric times. Naturally, some WWE wrestlers will be voicing some of the characters. It is set for a 2015 release.

  • Happy birthday to Jake “the Snake” Roberts who turns 58 today. As is well-documented, Jake has a new lease on life thanks to a fitness and lifestyle regimen imposed on him by his friend Diamond Dallas Page. As a result, there may be many more birthdays to come for this legend.

  • The International Olympic Committee announced that amateur wrestling is one of three finalists for a spot in the 2020 Olympic Games, following meetings in St. Petersburg, Russia today. Baseball/softball and squash will compete with wrestling for the final spot. Wakeboarding, wushsu, and roller sports did not make the cut.

  • Kofi Kingston is scheduled for elbow surgery tomorrow, and expected to be off WWE TV for four to eight weeks.

  • “Rowdy” Roddy Piper appeared on the show Storage Wars last night. He assessed the value of some kilts that Barry Weiss had found in a locker.

  • "Cowboy" Johnny Mantell's podcast, Mantell's Corral, will feature memories of Buck Robley on Wednesday night's show, 9 pm CST. Check it out here.

  • Women's wrestling great Joyce Grable heads into into Atlanta's Emory Hospital on June 6th for chemotherapy, and then a bone marrow transplant, with her sister. Grable put off the operation so she could attend the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame weekend, where she was inducted into the women's wrestling category.

  • Missy Hyatt is writing a new book about her career. Unlike her first book -- Missy Hyatt: First Lady of Pro Wrestling -- it is not a tell-all, but more of a behind-the-scenes stories. She is writing it herself, and relying on Dennis Brent, who published the World Class and WCW magazines for help with the editing.

  • Brian Kendrick turns 34 today, and WWE’s Hornswoggle turns 27.

  • Today’s wrestling birthdays: Shield member Seth Rollins turns 27, TNA announcer Jeremy Borash turns 39, and WWE legend Kamala turns 63.

  • From Gabe Sapolsky, the booker from EVOLVE, comes confirmation that Sami Callihan is indeed off to WWE developmental: "We can announce now that Sami Callihan has already wrestled on his final DGUSA/EVOLVE event. We want to extend a heartfelt 'thank you' to Sami for being an important part of DGUSA/EVOLVE history. Callihan started at the bottom of his card and through hard work and determination became a main player in the WWNLive Family. Sami first made waves by forming D.U.F. and entering an intense feud against AR Fox. Shortly after the feud vs. Fox started, Callihan reached another turning point when he battled Fit Finlay at EVOLVE 9 in a bout that was voted by the fans as the 2011 DGUSA/EVOLVE Match Of The Year. Callihan went on to give us many memorable moments including the infamous closing of the former ECW Arena at EVOLVE 10.
