RAW: One last push toward Wrestlemania
By DALE PLUMMER -- SLAM! Wrestling

The Rock and John Cena stare each other down at Raw in Chicago. Photo by Ricky Havlik, RickyHavlik.com

Finally, Wrestlemania week is here. The final stop for Monday Night RAW is in Chicago, with the Rock, John Cena, and WWE champion, The Miz, under the same roof. The Windy City also happens to be the home of CM Punk.

Punk kicks off the show sitting in the ring, with the crowd chanting his name. He says he will miss this in Atlanta, he doesn't think that he will receive the same ovation. Punk calls out Orton for taking out Nexus, but Punk calls himself a realist. Punk says losing Nexus isn't his problem; Randy Orton is his problem. He says Orton he has a false sense of security, and takes us back to last week. (By the way, Orton's "wife" may want to invest in some acting lessons.)

And the crowd turns on him. Punk says he is just getting started, but will close this sick and twisted chapter at Wrestlemania.

Before Punk can leave the ring, Orton makes his way to the ring, visibly limping with a heavily bandaged knee. Punk cuts him off at the ropes, but Orton counters and hits the elevated DDT. Orton stalks his prey, and lines up the punt. Orton's knee gives out, and Punk escapes getting kicked in the head. With Orton injured Punk toys with him in the ring, kicking him in the knee. Punk picks Orton up and drops him with the GTS.

Edge and Christian are on RAW, because Edge is allowed to get his hands on Alberto Del Rio on this show, but not Smackdown! Edge says the RAW GM isn't that bad.

Match #1 Edge and Christian vs. Alberto Del Rio and Brodus Clay

Edge and Clay face off and Edge gets the upper hand. He quickly tags in his partner, and they flip Clay over the top rope. Christian looks for a plancha, but Clay catches him. Edge connects on a baseball slide to take Clay to the floor. We go to commercial.

After the break, Del Rio is in control. He knocks Christian to the mat. Edge gets the hot tag, as Clay also tags in. Edge gets caught on a cross body, but he fights out, and takes the big man to the mat. Del Rio trips Edge up though, and Christian takes him out. Edge dodges a charge, bounces off the ropes, and spears Clay. He covers to get the win.

Winner via pinfall: Edge and Christian

On the outside, Del Rio locks in the cross arm breaker on Christian. Edge chases Del Rio off. Edge goes to check on his friend, but Del Rio jumps him from behind, and locks in the cross arm breaker.

After more commercials, we got to the announce position. Michael Cole gets an email for the GM. He wants to see if Jerry Lawler is ready for Wrestlemania, so he will face Jack Swagger, tonight.

Match #2 Santino Marella w/Tamina, Vladimir Kozlov, Big Show, and Kane vs. Justin Gabriel w/ The Corre

Michael Cole lets us know that all these superstars will face each other in an eight man tag at Wrestlemania. And Santino wins after hitting Gabriel with the cobra.

Winner via pinfall: Santino Marella

After the match, Santino celebrates with his team, but Kane is not amused, until he does his own trombone dance.

Shawn Michaels addresses The Undertaker and Triple H.
The Undertaker is in the building. The lights go out, and Johnny Cash starts to play. The Dead Man makes his way to the ring, and is followed shortly by Triple H. I think we saw this about a month ago. As Hunter gets on the apron, the lights go out again. Nothing happens, so the two stare each other down.

Sexy Boy breaks the silence, as Shawn Michaels makes his return to RAW! Michaels apologizes for interrupting, but says there was no way he was going to miss this. HBK puts the match over, but then wants to know why Triple H thinks he can do what Shawn couldn't. Hunter says the truth is HBK got soft, and he has to -- and will -- win. He says he is here for one reason, to look the Undertaker dead in the eyes, and tell him it's time to hang it up. Triple H says he is the one, as in 18-1.

Undertaker says it ain't that time. The streak will live. If Hunter doesn't want to take his word for it, ask HBK. Undertaker sees HBK as a humbled man, full of regret. A man whose career he ended. HBK goes for Sweet Chin Music, but Taker blocks it a grabs him by the throat. Hunter breaks it up, and gets in Taker's face. Hunter wants Shawn to tell Taker why he will end the streak. HBK has nothing to say and leaves the ring. And on that note, Undertaker walks off.

Match #3 Jerry "The King" Lawler vs. Jack Swagger w/ Michael Cole

King makes the mistake of going after Cole, and Swagger knocks him to the mat. Swagger follows with a splash off the turnbuckle, and then knocks Lawler from the ring. He tosses the King over the security barrier, as Cole eggs him on. Lawler fights back with a chair, getting himself disqualified. That doesn't stop the King, who continues the beating, until he goes after Cole, who has retreated to his Plexiglas shell. Security prevents King from getting to Cole, who yells at him.

Winner via DQ: Jack Swagger

Need instant heat? Just add Vicki Guerrero. She comes out on stage, and imitates John Morrison's entrance, a week after pinning him. She calls out Snooki before Dolph Ziggler makes his way to the ring.

Match #4 Dolph Ziggler and King Sheamus w/ Vicki Guerrero vs. Daniel Bryan and John Morrison

Sheamus hits Bryan with the high cross, or Pale Justice according to Cole, to get the win.

Winner via pinfall: King Sheamus and Dolph Ziggler

Scott Stanford asks Orton if he will make it to Wrestlemania. Orton talks about his anger management issues, ruining careers of men he barely knew. Orton says he despises CM Punk. Orton says the question should be will CM Punk make it out.

The final inductees into the WWE Hall of Fame are the Road Warriors and Paul Ellering.

Trish Stratus and Snooki join us from a bar. Snooki says Trish has been training her well, but some idiot keeps interrupting them. Snooki smacks the guy and the bouncers escort him out. Turns out Michelle McCool and Layla are also in the bar. Snooki throws a drink at them and a cat fight ensues.

The Rock is finally back on RAW, live. Rocky calls out John Cena, and Cena obliges. He tells Rock that he belongs here. Cena says he was one of the millions of Rock's fans when he ran his mouth. Cena wanted to know why he left. Cena points to crowd and how much they love The Rock. Everything Cena said had meaning and merit, while he wanted to know what problem Rock had with him. Cena is upset that Rock has attacked the person Cena is and how he chooses to be. Cena wants to know who is the Rock to judge.

The Rock says he is going to whoop him. Cena is ready for a fight, and then The Miz interrupts, with Alex Riley in tow. Miz can't believe is being upstaged by the O-brothers, overhyped and over-rated. Miz tells Cena he will lose, but at least he will go down swinging, unlike the Rock. Miz has a secret, Rock is not going to do a thing, because he doesn't want to ruin his movie star rep by getting beat up and embarrassed.

Rocks tells Miz it doesn't matter what he thinks. Riley sucker punches Rock and Miz jumps in. Rocky fights back, knocking Riley from the ring, and dropping Miz with a DDT. Rock hits the people's elbow and tosses Miz out of the ring. Rock turns around, only to get an Attitude Adjustment from Cena. The show ends with Rocky down in the ring.
