'Mania memories (no more tears)
By TIM BAINES - Ottawa Sun
But I've got other memories of Wrestlemania, too.
It's not like the old days when wrestlers cloaked themselves in secrecy. When good guys were good and bad guys were bad.
Wrestlers now cross those lines frequently. Out of the ring, some of the bad guys are the nicest.
Here's a collection of quotes gathered during the week of Wrestlemania:
Randy Orton: "A lot of guys have inspired and motivated me through the years. I look at Rey Mysterio. He's got a beautiful wife and two kids. I look at him out of the ring and that's way I'd like to be."
Armando Estrada: "A lot of what you see on TV is me. When I see the red light, that's me without about six cups of Starbucks expresso."
Mae Young: "Stephanie (McMahon) promised me I could wrestle her daughter, Aurora Rose, when I was 100 years old. I've always said I hope I die in the middle of the ring."
Linda McMahon: "We were one of the first reality shows. Those who watch know the character Mr. McMahon. He's been on TV longer than Johnny Carson."
Maryse, with a devilish grin: "I've already been in Playboy. Maybe if they're lucky I'll do it again."
Edgehead Zack Ryder describes the amazing feeling looking around the WWE locker room: "I see guys like Big Show, Shawn Michaels, Ric Flair and The Undertaker and as a kid, I used to play with their action figures."
AROUND THE RING
Andrew Martin (Test) was arrested Sunday in Florida, accused of driving under the influence. "Considering I don't drink alcohol or do drugs, I don't know how the DUI is going to stand," Martin said ... Nattie Neidhart will apparently be known as Natalia Neidhart on Smackdown!
