The Great White takes a big bite out out of the 25th Royal Rumble
By DALE PLUMMER and NICK TYLWALK -- SLAM! Wrestling
For the second straight year, fans most likely came into the Royal Rumble without a very good idea of who might end up the winner. That’s not a bad thing, as unpredictability is the key to making the WWE’s second most famous pay-per-view event so much fun.

Genesis: Hardy wins match but not title
By BOB KAPUR - SLAM! Wrestling
"And on the seventh day... He rested." (Genesis: 2-1). The same might be said about the booker of TNA Wrestling's first pay-per-view event, Genesis, which took place Sunday night. Either that, or it was sheer laziness that resulted in two title matches ending in lame DQ finishes, including the main event which saw Bobby Roode lose to challenger Jeff Hardy, but still keep his TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

ROH Final Battle great at first, then fizzles
By DARREN WOOD - SLAM! Wrestling
Friday's Ring of Honor Final Battle event marks its tenth anniversary; having been the last ROH show of each year since the promotion’s inception in 2002. In that time, Final Battle has evolved into one of the biggest shows of the year, where feuds climax, new angles begin for the coming year, and titles have often changed hands.

TLC: The trouble with tables
By DAVE HILLHOUSE -- SLAM! Wrestling
Seven championship matches: three new champions. While the odds aren’t that good for the challengers, the winners might surprise you. WWE PPVs come to an end for 2011 with some very satisfying matches, setting the scene for the road to you-know-where in the new year.

Countdown to WWE TLC
By JON WALDMAN -- SLAM! Wrestling
TLC ends the WWE PPV year with a whimper, not a bang. Few will argue that the two most intriguing aspects to WWE TV right now are the return of masked Kane, and the mystery that surrounds the Jan. 2 promos we have seen for the last few weeks, neither of which have anything to do with TLC.

No resolution found at Final Resolution
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling
TNA's final pay-per-view offering of 2012 was a bit ironic. Titled "Final Resolution," the show, in fact, had no resolution. In the main event, a 30-minute iron man match for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, Bobby Roode and AJ Styles reached no resolution after 30 minutes, leaving Roode thankful and Styles (and the fans) wanting more.

No swerves but plenty of Rock and Punk at Survivor Series
By NICK TYLWALK - SLAM! Wrestling
Anyone following WWE programming for the last few months already knew the hook for the 2012 edition of Survivor Series well before the pay-per-view broadcast kicked off Sunday night from Madison Square Garden in New York City. The Rock was back, returning to an organization and a venue that meant a great deal to his career.

Roode retains title at highly forgettable Turning Point
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling
Coming off its biggest pay-per-view of the year, it was clear Turning Point wasn't exactly a high priority for TNA, especially considering the main event wasn't signed until the final 10 seconds of the last Impact before the show. The lack of build showed, as a mostly dead crowd watched eight mostly average-at-best matches before a solid main event between Bobby Roode and AJ Styles capped the night.

Henry and Del Rio retain at solid Vengeance show
By BOB KAPUR - SLAM! Wrestling
Despite the name of Sunday’s WWE pay-per-view event, neither the Big Show nor John Cena were able to deliver Vengeance to their respective opponents, World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry and WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio. Instead, after a night of solid in-ring action (when the ring was still standing, that is), the villainous champions emerged with their titles intact.

Bound For Glory: Awful finish undermines outstanding show
By MATT BISHOP - SLAM! Wrestling
Sometimes, it's like TNA just can't help itself. In its biggest show of the year, the company delivered one of its best pay-per-views in recent memory, only to have what was otherwise a pretty great show marred by a horrendous finish in the main event. Other than that, the action was outstanding, even in the much-maligned match between Hulk Hogan and Sting.
