Countdown to TNA Hardcore Justice
By JON WALDMAN -- SLAM! Wrestling

We're how many months in now and I still don't know what to call this company? Oy.

Look. I get that TNA Impact is doing a slow burn on its brand switch, but this is ridiculous. Do the wrestlers even know who to say they work for?

On a separate note, given that WWE's chopping block was active today, you can expect the flow that TNA Impact had been building over the last few weeks will be messed with a bit, which is a shame because there really has been some great storyline work being done of late. When you look at the work we've seen on TV, the writing has improved, the main event looks crisp and the Bound for Glory tournament has really been able to build well.

Let's hope TNA can resist the urge to go on a WWE hiring binge; otherwise, tonight's PPV, Hardcore Justice, could end up being the last good PPV we see in a while.

??? WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Sting vs. Kurt Angle

Whether you like the new Sting character or not, you have to admire how well TNA has worked up the match with Angle tonight. The two, in their prime, would have been amazing to see. All signs point to Angle winning, and given Sting's age and condition, this could be his last great bout.
??? TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH

Beer Money vs. Mexican Americans

LAX 2.0 really, really bores me. Anarquia may be the worst name in wrestling since the days of The Tulip, and Hernandez is really worn on me. Still, you know that they're going to take the tag belts with all signs pointing to the Beer Money split so they can pursue individual gold.
X-DIVISION TITLE MATCH

Austin Aries vs. Brian Kendrick vs. Alex Shelley

Thankfully, Kendrick's reign is coming to an end. Rejoice! I'm looking forward to seeing what Aries can do with the title, especially if the rumours are true and there are more RoH guys coming in.
  ??? KNOCKOUTS TITLE MATCH

Mickie James vs. Winter

Mickie's worn the belt too long, and it's time to get the Winter/Angelina angle to its crescendo. Of course, this is just a transitional move to get the belt onto Velvet Sky, who is at the apex of her popularity.
  SIX-MAN TITLE MATCH

Immortal vs. Fortune

Bubba's promo on Thursday had me thinking this would be a "losing team breaks up" match, but I'm guessing they're saving that stip for next month to build the tension between Styles and Daniels more. I sense a screwy finish.
  BOUND FOR GLORY MATCH

RVD vs. Crimson

Crimson takes this one to keep his perfect record alive.
  BOUND FOR GLORY MATCH

Pope vs. Devon

Great story build, but I really am not buying Devon as a singles threat. Pope wins.
  GRUDGE MATCH

Bubba Ray vs. Mr. Anderson

Dudley wins as Anderson gets shuffled further down the card.
??? KNOCKOUT TAG TEAM TITLE MATCH

Sarita/Rosita vs. Tara/Miss Tessmacher

Brooke has the second worst name in wrestling. It just doesn't roll off the tongue at all. I'm digging Sarita's mask though, and for that reason alone, I'm going with the heels.
