Countdown to TNA Sacrifice
By JON WALDMAN -- SLAM! Wrestling
Sacrifice is upon us, and there's a lot of confusion surrounding it; namely,
what company is putting it on.
This is the very definition of placeholder, as we await Sting vs. Ken Anderson. Consider this one to be Sting "getting his win back" after RVD's surprise debut about a year and a half ago. It seems inevitable that RVD shifts away from the main event after this, but it's extremely hard to figure out where he goes next, though it feels like we're doomed to seeing RVD vs. Bubba Ray.
I'm actually kinda shocked that WWE let the Chyna trademark slip through their fingers, but I'm really not sure if there's much value here. I'm pleasantly surprised that ??? has built in the original Jarrett/Chyna storyline, and it wouldn't surprise me if Stacy Carter (aka The Kat) comes in sometime down the road, maybe with her hubby Sinn/Kizarny. The match, of course, will be horrible. Angle/Chyna win.
The return of Harris was very well executed by ???. I'm guessing that the titles change here, knowing the ??? booking team's tendencies, but I'd rather Beer Money hold the titles a bit longer.
I hate these types of matches, because the inevitable conclusion is Patty Hearst-esque, where the captive ends up siding with their holder. This won't be any different. Tara screws Mickie.
I still don't know why they split the Young Bucks so early. It makes no sense to me since the two hadn't yet developed individual personalities. Kaz wins.
I'm not yet excited about this feud. I'm guessing it's the old standard of Tommy losing all his money and now has to do whatever Bubba Ray tells him to do. Tommy wins.
If LAX wasn't still fresh in my memory I'd be looking forward to this match more. I don't mind the build, but it just feels like such a re-hash.
Why is Samoa Joe not on the pay-per-view? I don't mind Crimson but Abyss has really worn thin over the last year or so. Take the young upstart to win.
No buildup, and I've never been much of a fan of BK's. He'll win though. Visit the SLAM! Wrestling store! Get the best of TNA's PPVs in the SLAM! Store!
