Countdown to TNA Sacrifice
By SLAM! Wrestling Staff
Remember how excited we were last week for a gimmick-free PPV? Well, it's
too bad TNA couldn't carry the ball filled with that enthusiasm.
Yes fans, Sacrifice is here with five of the seven matches (announced in time
for our preview, as usual) having stips.
Sigh.
Okay, back to reality time. There is some decent intrigue here, especially in
the main event. Let's see what could (or is that should) happen tonight.

GRUDGE MATCH (ULTIMATE SACRIFICE)
Kurt Angle (Control of MEM) vs. Mick Foley (TNA World Title) vs. Sting
(Career) vs. Jeff Jarrett (control of TNA) |
|
SLAM! Predictions
Jon Waldman
You know what bugs me about this match? TNA hasn't made it clear how the results
will break down. Is it winner-take-all? Is it only the guy who's pinned that
loses his sacrifice? The logical part here would be for Jarrett to lose control
of TNA, but to who? Foley already has almost absolute power, so will the added
bit help? More appropriate wuld be Kurt Angle with MEM controlling the entire
organization, then have Foley reveal that he's been with the Mafia all along.
Jason Clevett
Battle of the former champions, all of them old. Not sure what to expect with
this one. I'd like to see someone outside of this group get a shot at running
with the belt. I'll pick Mick to sneak out a win.
Greg Oliver
I honestly don't think this is the time for Sting to retire. At least not in
a silly four-way match. It should be one-on-one in an epic battle with someone
like Jarrett or Angle. Hopefully this match builds towards that at Bound For
Glory just a few months away. So I'm picking Sting to win.

GRUDGE MATCH (MONSTER'S BALL)
Daffney vs. Taylor Wylde |
| |
SLAM! Predictions
Jon Waldman
TNA seems to think Wylde has the Mickie James teflon power here and can go into
any match, win or lose, and come out the fans' favourite gal. Sadly, they're
mistaken. I get the feeling Daffney blades here. I'll take her to eek out the
win also, with help from Dr. Stevie.
Jason Clevett
Daffney is getting the push so she will win.
Greg Oliver
Talk about messing up your makeup! I'll take Daffney, but not exactly sure why.
Wilde has dropped down the ratings for some reason.

3D INVITATIONAL FINALS MATCH
The British Invasion vs. Beer Money Inc. |
|
SLAM! Predictions
Jon Waldman
TBI has been impressive since they formed. I'll take them with some sort of
cheap victory.
Jason Clevett
An odd match up. Going to pick British Invasion in hopes that we can have some
time before revisiting BMI vs. 3D.
Greg Oliver
We've seen Beer Money versus Team 3D again and again, so I really hope the Brits
go over. However, my gut is saying go with the tried and true in Beer Money.

TNA LEGENDS TITLE MATCH (I QUIT)
AJ Styles vs. Booker T |
|
SLAM! Predictions
Jon Waldman
AJ deserves better than this. Booker's way past his prime and, as much as I
hate saying it, should be looking at retirement. AJ wins here.
Jason Clevett
Should be the match of the night. Styles retains.
Greg Oliver
Any chance of having Booker T quit for good? He just seems so tired and uninspired.
Styles wins.

TNA KNOCKOUT TITLE MATCH (STRETCHER)
Awesome Kong vs. Angelina Love
|
SLAM! Predictions
Jon Waldman
I like the angle a lot. I get the feeling that this is where the "famous
woman" debuts for TNA, costing Kong the bout.
Jason Clevett
It is too soon to put the belt back on Kong, so Love somehow eeks out a win probably
via DQ.
Greg Oliver
This feud is just getting going really, so I'm taking Love to conquer all.
| |
GRUDGE MATCH
Kevin Nash vs. Samoa Joe
|
| |
SLAM! Predictions
Jon Waldman
After such a long interruption in this feud I couldn't care less. I get the
feeling that Joe wins and wins big here, putting Nash back on the shelf.
Jason Clevett
Nash's best match in years was against Joe, can they work a miracle twice? Joe
wins.
Greg Oliver
Many months in the making does not necessarily make for an intriguing match.
Joe had better go over, and cleanly. But that sure doesn't happen much.

TNA X-DIVISION TITLE MATCH
Christopher Daniels vs. Suicide
|
| |
SLAM! Predictions
Jon Waldman
Daniels deserves a first name! This match is happening way too early in the
storyline. I'll take Suicide with a DQ win as the MCMG and Lethal Consequences
interfere, only for Kaz to come out and save the day.
Jason Clevett
Suicide retains after angry X Division guys interfere.
Greg Oliver
Probably the match of the night given the storyline and if they are given enough
time. Daniels seems to be in the good books again and showed his loyalty to
the company by working under a mask for so long, so I'm choosing Daniels --
the man who seems to have lost his first name.
