Damage (2010)

The second starring vehicle for "Stone Cold" Steve Austin is Damage, which was released in March 2010.

Austin stars as John Bricker, an ex-convict who ends up competing in illegal underground fights after getting paroled.

The film was shot in Vancouver, B.C., starting in October 2008. It was written by Frank Hannah (Cooler) and directed by Jeff King (Ruslan, Kill Switch).

In a press release, Tim Brown, the president of Insight Film Releasing, talked about the movie. "Insight is extremely excited to be joining with Steve Austin to bring Damage to the screen. With edge of the seat excitement, thrilling fight sequences and minute to minute on screen action, Damage is the ideal showcase to highlight Steve Austinís fighting style."

Austin's fighting style actually resulted in some news early in the shooting. During a fight scene, Austin broke the nose of mixed martial arts fighter Paul Lazenby.

On his website, Lazenby didn't blame Austin at all for the incident, which required a good 20 minutes before the bleeding stopped.

"I want to stress that this was NOT a case of negligence or incompetence, just one of those things that can happen even between skilled performers when they're swinging their fists at one another," Lazenby wrote. "I don't blame Steve at all, he just made a mistake that even the best stunt performers can make (and one of which I'm certainly not innocent)."

Austin later wore a sling and ice pack over his left hand, joking that he hurt his hand on Lazenby's nose.

Others in the film include Laura Vandervoort from Smallville, Walton Goggins (The Shield), Lynda Boyd and Eric Keenleyside.

The first starring role for Austin was The Condemned, from WWE Films.
