REAL NAME: Elizabeth Kocanski Carolan
HEIGHT: 5'6"
BORN: November 24, 1980 in Elmira, NY
NICKNAMES: Beth Phoenix, self-proclaimed "Total Package Of Women's Wrestling", Phoenix the Firebird, Phoenix, Firebird, Fabulous Firebird, The Glamazon, The Uber Diva

As the most dominant female wrestler in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) today, Carolan has paid her dues and established a new image of womenís wrestling.

Carolan arrived in the WWE on May 8, 2006 to stop then Womenís Champion, Mickie James, from beating on a one-armed Trish Stratus.

For months James had been taunting Stratus. After defeating Candice Michelle, James continued to stomp the fallen Diva. Stratus, with a broken arm, ran in to help but was taken down to the mat by James until finally being saved by Carolan. A week later, Stratus introduced Carolan as an old friend of James'.

By Stratusí side Carolan would taunt and attack James. Before the feud could take off, in her first singles match against Victoria, Carolan suffered a broken jaw that would sideline her from the WWE for over a year. The day after the fractured mandible Carolan had a titanium plate put in.

Her dreams of being a wrestler since she was a little girl were put on hold. She didnít let it slip away though as she had worked too hard already.

Carolan admits she doesnít watch much TV but one of her favourite shows has been WWE RAW since she saw the first episode at 12 years of age.

Knowing right away that was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life, she began training her body for a long term career. To toughen herself up she joined her high schoolís amateur wrestling team. She then became the first ever female varsity wrestler for Notre Dame High School in Elmira, NY.

In 1999 she won championships in the New York State Fair and North East Freestyle. After high school Carolan continued her amateur status by becoming a card member of USA Wrestling.

A long-time fan of the Harts, she wanted to be trained in Stuís Dungeon but ultimately stayed close to home so she could attend Canisius College in Buffalo. She trained with Hart Dungeon grads, the All Knighters -- Joey Knight (future husband Joey Carolan) and Robin Knightwing (Patrick Carolan).

While receiving a B.A. she continued wrestling and in 2000 turned pro. Her first professional match was against Alexis Laree, also known as Mickie James. Carolan was also the first female winner of a 14-man battle royal held in Ontario, Canada.

In 2002 she was a part of the first cast of wrestlers in GLORY, an independent organization for women. In the championship tournament she won to become the first-ever champion. She then joined Far North Wrestling (FNW) as the only female wrestler competing against men. She defeated Joey Knight and Kevin Grace in 2003 to become the FNW cruiserweight champion.

During her early career she jumped to many different independent organizations. In the now defunct MadMar Entertainment she suffered one of her first accidents when a steel chair sliced her back open.

In 2004 she relocated to Louisville to work for Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) in the hopes of receiving a developmental deal with the WWE. She debuted as the valet for Chris Masters but it was cut short and she was repackaged to be the valet for Aaron "The Idol" Stevens. She continued her feud with James picking up where they left off.

On October 20, 2005 Carolan signed her first contract with the WWE while still working for OVW. Stevens and Carolan were joined by Shelly Martinez, known to Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) fans as Ariel. The trio worked WWE dark shows for Smackdown until early 2006. Carolan turned on the new member and feuded with her until tracking down Mickie James on Raw and suffering her broken jaw.

After having come so far Carolan showed her inner strength and desire to be the number one women in the WWE by overcoming her fractured mandible and making a shocking return to OVW. It was then that she first introduced the Glamazon.

She continued to show her power by competing in the first women's ladder match. To taunt her dominance over the women in wrestling she performs a move called the "Double Death Valley Driver" where she stacks two women on top of each other over her shoulder and slams them to the mat. Sheís also been known to do this with men.

Her first match back in the OVW was against Serena competing for the Womenís championship, which she won.

On July 9, 2007 Carolan returned to the WWE Raw roster full time and again went straight for Mickie James and the womenís championship. Though she never beat James for the title, on October 7, 2007 Carolan defeated Candice Michelle for her first WWE Womenís Championship.

Carolan lost her title to her arch nemesis Mickie James on April 14, 2008. During her six-month reign she compelled the WWE Divas to be more aggressive, fight harder, be stronger and also pinned the shoulders of some men. She made Candice Michelle, Melina and Mickie James dig deeper and go to lengths they hadnít gone before.

At One Night Stand 2008 in her favourite type of match, an I Quit match, she made Melina tap out. At Summerslam on August 17, 2008 Carolan won her second WWE Womenís title in a winner takes all match. She and Santino Marella, who make up Glamorellea, defeated Mickie James and Kofi Kingston for the Intercontinental and womenís belts with Carolan finally pinning Mickie James for the title. Carolan held it for five months until losing it to Melina at the Royal Rumble 2009.

During her independent days in GLORY Carolan called herself the total package of womenís wrestling, having ultimate strength, beauty, determination and in-ring ability. During her title reigns she proved she is indeed the complete package.
