REAL NAME: Serena Deeb
Deeb started training at the OVW Wrestling School in March 2005 and soon entered into a feud with ODB. The two rivals exchanged victories in mixed tag team and six-man tag team matches. Deeb managed to capture the Women's Championship during the main event of the September 13 edition of OVW TV in a four way match involving O.D.B., Beth Phoenix and Katie Lea (Burchill).
With Deeb as champion, she became involved in a feud with Phoenix and lost her title on October 4th. Deeb wouldn’t manage to defeat Phoenix for the title, as Katie Lea won the belt during a gauntlet challenge. Deeb’s attention was fully on trying to reclaim the gold, but a singles match for the belt ended in Disqualification when Phoenix interfered. She saw the year out with a win in a non title no-disqualification triple threat match against Katie Lea and Phoenix.
The next two years would be a mixed bag for Deeb.
During 2007, she would spend many weeks on an undefeated streak in OVW, which was ended by Lea in May and she competed in a variety of tag matches. In the early months of 2008 she would go on a losing streak, eventually disappearing in February until an unannounced return in May answering an open challenge from then current champion Josie to win her second title. A decision was then made that the Women’s Championship would be defended under 24/7 rules, Josie would be the first to take advantage of the rule in early July when she attacked Deeb and won the belt. It wasn’t long until the gold found its way back to Deeb, when she attacked Josie during a speech pinning her for the title. Reggie pinned Deeb to win the belt for a matter of minutes until Deeb speared Reggie and won it back. In August the 24/7 ruling was deactivated after Deeb won the belt back for an unprecedented sixth time. She held the title until November 12th when she lost the championship to Melody in a four-way match with Josie and Reggie.
On July 1, 2009 it was reported that Deeb had signed a contract with WWE, she made her debut on July 15, 2009. On 14 August, Deeb pinned April Lee in a four-way match during the TV taping for FCW's fiftieth episode to win a future opportunity to compete against Angela for her Queen of FCW crown. On October 4th she defeated Angela and became the second Queen of FCW. Four months later on the February 4, 2010 FCW TV tapings, AJ Lee defeated Serena, to become the new Queen of FCW.
On January 22, 2010 she was called up to the main roster and appeared on SmackDown, playing the part of an audience member, before jumping over the barrier to join CM Punk's group of Straight Edge followers. As part of the initiation, she agreed to have her head shaved bald. A week later, she appeared as a new member of the heel group the Straight Edge Society with Punk and Luke Gallows.
Straight Edge Society and Rey Mysterio had a feud which culminated in Punk being defeated by Mysterio in a hair vs mask match at Over the Limit. After being shaved, he started wearing a mask to cover his baldness. On the July 16th edition of SmackDown, the Straight Edge Society and The Big Show began a feud where Show took off Punk's mask showing his bald head. The following week, the Straight Edge Society plotted revenge on The Big Show when the masked member of the Straight Edge Society was selected to fight. Big Show removed his mask and it was revealed to be Joey Mercury who had come back to the company. On the July 30 edition of SmackDown, CM Punk, Luke Gallows, Joey Mercury and Serena brutally assaulted Big Show, repeatedly smashing and stomping his hand into the steel ring steps.
