NXT: Sin Cara and Kalisto head to Takeover

The NXT Tag Team Tournament has come down to two teams. On one side, The Vaudevillains bring a tough, old-school style. On the other, Sin Cara and Kalisto bring lucha libre's high-flying tactics. Tonight on WWE NXT, the two teams battle for a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championships at Takeover II. Plus, all four men in the NXT Championship fatal four-way main event at Takeover are in action! All that and more on this week's edition of WWE NXT!

Preview of the show hypes the NXT Tag Team Tournament final and all four members of the NXT Takeover II fatal four-way match in singles action.

We are on tape from Orlando, Fla. Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton, and Renee Young have the call for this week.

Match One: Alexa Bliss vs. Charlotte

Lockup gets Charlotte the side headlock and takeover. Alexa Bliss has her shoulders put on the mat and kips out to get a side headlock of her own. Bliss out of the corner with a tilt-a-whirl pin attempt that gets a nearfall. Tilt-a-whirl headscissors connect for Bliss and Charlotte comes back with a tilt-a-whirl gutbuster. Bliss choked on the second rope and clubbed. Forearms landing for Bliss and a dropkick gets a pin attempt on the NXT Women's Champion.

Clothesline ducked by Bliss, but Charlotte with a kick to the midsection. Powerbomb attempt turned into a sunset flip from Bliss for a nearfall. Bliss has her head slammed on the canvas and Bow Down to the Queen connects for Charlotte.

Winner by pinfall: Charlotte

Bayley makes her way to the ring. Bayley says Charlotte refused to shake her hand last week, but Bayley defeated Sasha Banks twice and it is time for Charlotte to take her seriously because she will seriously take her title at Takeover. Bayley extends the hand and Charlotte extends her to push Bayley in the face. Charlotte swings and Bayley ducks to hit the Belly to Bayley. Bayley stands in the ring with the title as Charlotte leaves.

Video promo asks Tyler Breeze why he should be NXT Champion. Breeze says Sami Zayn didn't do well at Takeover and that Tyson Kidd and Adrian Neville aren't "the most super good looking piece of gorgeousness that you're ever going to see." Breeze says maybe he should be champion because he's always been the best looking person in every room he's stepped into and because he always gets the job done in the ring.

Devin Taylor with Sin Cara and Kalisto. Taylor asks how they feel. Sin Cara answers in Spanish and Kalisto translates, saying they have a great challenge. They've been teaming for a short period of time, but they believe they can beat any tag team in NXT. Taylor asks about the NXT Tag Team Champions The Ascension. Kalisto says The Ascension is strong, but they are strong and skillful enough to become champions. Sin Cara breaks out his English and declares they are ready for the challenge.

Match Two: Tye Dillinger vs. Tyler Breeze

Lockup sees Tyler Breeze get the arm wrench. Tye Dillinger counters out and gets the side headlock. Dillinger cornered and steps over Breeze to land a shoulder bump. Breeze leapfrogs and ducks into an inverted atomic drop. Chop and a stomp from Dillinger get a pin attempt. Back bodydrop attempt from Dillinger met by a kick from Breeze. Breeze works Dillinger into the corner and stomps him down. Stomp to the midsection gets Breeze a nearfall.

Front headlock applied by Breeze. Dillinger lifts Breeze up and runs him into the corner. Chop connects and Breeze reverses a whip to send Dillinger into the corner. Dillinger side steps and hits the ropes. Breeze whiffs on a clothesline, but connects on the Beauty Shot coming back.

Winner by pinfall: Tyler Breeze

Video promo features Tyson Kidd. Kidd says there are four individuals in this match. One is the greatest high-flyer in the business. One is an in-ring innovator with heart. One may be self-absorbed and arrogant, but comes away looking like a million bucks. One is cold, callous, hungry, and the most dangerous person to ever walk the planet because he came from The Dungeon. Kidd notes that Sami Zayn, Tyler Breeze, and Adrian Neville are also in this match and that's how he feels about his opponents.

Video from Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady shows them going into a hair salon. Amore says Carmella has a secret weapon in hair removal cream inside for them. The two meet her as she gets the bucket and flex in the mirror as they wait. Carmella brings in the bucket and a customer comes in to ask for a wax. Amore runs him off and Cassady asks Amore to test it on himself. The two fight for the bucket and pour it all over the customer's poodle, who has chunks of hair come loose as Cassady and Amore leave shocked.

Match Three: Tyson Kidd vs. Adam Rose

Lockup sees Adam Rose get the side headlock and shoulder bump. Nearfall gets Adam Rose a side headlock takeover and Tyson Kidd with a legscissors choke to get out. Kick to the midsection from Kidd works Rose into the corner. Rose turns it around and lands punches of his own. Mule kicks to the chest land for Rose and an elbow drop follow gets a one count. Back elbow from Rose gets another one count and Kidd moves to the apron. Kidd lands an enzuigiri and a running boot. Neckbreaker sees Kidd float over to a nearfall.

Elbow to the top of the head and a kick to the back get Kidd another pin. Facewash with the boots in the corner from Kidd. Hip attacks in the corner lead to a suplex for a nearfall on Rose. Side headlock applied and Rose with a stunner to get out. Rose backs up into the corner and lands a series of back elbows. Running forearms and a spinebuster set Kidd up in the corner. Rose charges into a dropkick to the knee. Kidd works the leg and applies the Sharpshooter. Rose near the ropes, but gets dragged to the center of the ring.

Winner by submission: Tyson Kidd

Video promo features Sami Zayn. Zayn says the advantage of a fatal four-way is being able to pin anyone, but he'd like to get the cherry on top by pinning NXT Champion Adrian Neville. Zayn wants to leave no doubt by beating the best man in the ring in his friend Neville.

Devin Taylor with The Vaudevillains as it goes black and white. Taylor says the group has a chance tonight to earn a shot and Aiden English interrupts. Tonight, they plan to prove they are a cut above Sin Cara and Kalisto and any other teams in NXT or WWE. English calls himself an artist and a physical specimen, while declaring Simon Gotch the strongest strongman in the WWE. Tonight, they plan to prove they are superior. Gotch is asked for thoughts and he proclaims excellent in another language.

Match Four: Sami Zayn vs. Marcus Louis (w/Sylvester Lefort)

Lockup starts the two off and Marcus Louis gets a wristlock. Sami Zayn turns into a wristlock of his own, only to be countered. Zayn flipping and kipping out into a slam from Louis. Louis working Zayn in the corner and connecting on a backbreaker for a nearfall. Rear chinlock applied by Louis and turned into a side headlock. Zayn trying to turn out of the alternating holds and Zayn runs Louis back into the corner. Back bodydrop attempt by Louis met by a boot and clotheslines. Pop-up dropkick lands for Zayn. Reverse STO into a Koji Clutch in the center of the ring by Zayn.

Winner by submission: Sami Zayn

Post-match, Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady take out Louis and catch Sylvester Lefort. Amore holds the bucket while Cassady attempts to full nelson Lefort down. Lefort escapes as Amore and Cassady threaten.

Video promo features NXT Champion Adrian Neville. Neville knows he is at a disadvantage in a fatal four-way. Neville chose this match because it was a risk. Neville has defeated all of these men in singles competition and wants to prove himself ready for the challenge at Takeover.

Match Five: CJ Parker vs. Adrian Neville

Lockup sees CJ Parker work Adrian Neville in the corner. Neville whipped into the opposite corner and floats over into handsprings. Parker misses a splash in the corner and Neville springboards over Parker to land a flying forearm. Side headlock takeover by Neville. Parker fights up and ducks Neville to land a heel kick that nearly wins it. Parker clubbing Neville down. Neville with a kick out of the corner, only to run into a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for a nearfall.

Parker heads up top and misses on a splash attempt. Neville with a pair of spinning back kicks and a punt. Dropkick puts Parker in the corner and Neville with a pair of running uppercuts. Missile dropkick lands and Neville in the opposite corner with the Red Arrow.

Winner by pinfall: Adrian Neville

NXT Tag Team Tournament Contenders Match Six: Sin Cara & Kalisto vs. The Vaudevillains

Kalisto starts out with Aiden English. The two start with a handshake and English gets a side headlock into a chinlock. Kalisto cartwheels out and flips his way into a rollup for a nearfall. Waistlock from Kalisto turned into a waistlock by English. Side headlock again applied and Kalisto struggling to get out. Kalisto drops back and rolls to get out. Side headlock takeover from Kalisto gets a nearfall on English. Slam attempt by English turned into a side headlock from Kalisto. Boot out of the corner from Kalisto sees him hit a corkscrew arm drag from the top.

Sin Cara brought in and the double-team kicks connect. Kalisto leaps into powerbomb position and moonsaults off Sin Cara's shoulders to get a nearfall for Sin Cara. English with an arm wrench and a punch. Simon Gotch in and Sin Cara with a hip toss and dropkick combo. Monkey flip out of the corner sends Gotch reeling into the other corner. Sin Cara charges and jumps into the corner as Gotch sidesteps to dropkick the leg, sending Sin Cara outside. Back inside, Gotch with a nearfall. English in and Gotch with an uppercut to the back of the head as English follows with a neckbreaker for an nearfall.

Front facelock applied by English. Sin Cara works him into the corner and gets clubbed down. English hangs Sin Cara in the tree of woe and lands body shots, but gets sent into the ring post on his shoulder as Sin Cara sits up. Up top, crossbody lands and both men down. Tags made to Kalisto and Gotch. Springboard corkscrew crossbody lands for Kalisto and a dropkick to the knee is followed by a headscissors takeover into the mat. English breaks the pin attempt and is sent out by Sin Cara. Kick combination lands and springboard caught by Gotch, but Kalisto wiggles out and connects on Salida del Sol. Sin Cara tagged in and a senton lands as Kalisto cannonballs outside on English.

Winners by pinfall and number one contenders for the WWE Tag Team Championships: Sin Cara & Kalisto

The show closes with NXT Tag Team Champions The Ascension standing at the top of the ramp and raising their belts.
