NXT: Tag team finals and Takeover II set

The boss is in the building. WWE COO Triple H has a special announcement for the NXT Universe. Tonight on WWE NXT, what does Triple H have in store for his surprise announcement? Plus, the NXT Tag Team Tournament semifinals bring us one step closer to a number one contender for a shot at NXT Tag Team Champions The Ascension! All that and more on this week's edition of WWE NXT!

We are on tape from Orlando, Fla. Tom Phillips, Byron Saxton, and Renee Young have the call for this week.

Prior to their match, Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady give their introduction and declare the NXT tag team division "S-A-W-F-T! SAWFT!"

NXT Tag Team Tournament Semifinals Match One: Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady vs. The Vaudevillains

Colin Cassady starts with Aiden English. Lockup sees English fail on a side headlock takeover and receive a shoulder bump. Big Cass with a knee to the midsection. Scoop slam attempt from Cassady is moved out of by English and tag made to Simon Gotch. English sent out by a big boot and a knee lands on Gotch. Scoop slam followed by an elbow drop gets a nearfall. Tag made to Enzo Amore and he lands punches that earn a nearfall.

Facewash with the boot lands and Gotch sent into the corner. Cassady tags in and tosses Amore into Gotch for a splash. Amore tags back as Cassady has Gotch in his arms. English dropkicks Cassady and Gotch lands on top of him. Amore up top and caught by Gotch. Tag made by English and Gotch with the rolling senton. English up top and That's a Wrap converts.

Winners by pinfall: The Vaudevillains

Post-match, The Legionnaires attack Cassady and Amore to shave off the beard of Amore.

WWE COO Triple H out to make a special announcement. Triple H says times are exciting in the WWE and NXT is the brand of the WWE Network. Once again, it is time for NXT to takeover. On September 11th, a two-hour NXT Takeover II special will air and will be overseen by the new NXT General Manager, who will debut next week. Triple H says you have seen nothing yet when it comes to the new general manager.

Recap of the last week's NXT Championship main event. Tyler Breeze with Devin Taylor backstage. Breeze is upset because he worked so hard to get his title shot and Tyson Kidd ruined his opportunity. It doesn't sit well with Breeze and Kidd is going to find out that Breeze is not just a pretty face.

Match Two: Tyson Kidd vs. Tyler Breeze

Tyler Breeze opens with a kick to the midsection and works Tyson Kidd in the corner. Kidd turns it around and lands strikes of his own. Kidd with a back elbow off the ropes and a snapmare leads to a kick of the back. Snap suplex into a neckbreaker for Kidd. A trio of kicks land for Kidd and a Sharpshooter attempt sees Breeze scoot to the ropes to move outside. Breeze takes his cell phone and tells Kidd he doesn't need this as he heads backstage.

Winner by countout: Tyson Kidd

Post-match, Kidd wears Breeze's fur jacket and lays in the corner to add insult to injury.

Tyler Breeze backstage. Breeze wonders why the media is making a big deal out of the issues between himself and Tyson Kidd. Breeze is focused on the big announcement next week and tells the paparazzi to leave.

Match Three: Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch

Both women exchanging taunts and NXT Women's Champion Charlotte opens with the waistlock takedown and front facelock. Becky Lynch counters out to get backslide attempt and a rollup attempt for a nearfall. Spinning toehold in for Lynch and Charlotte rolls through for a cover of her own for a nearfall.

Leglock in for Charlotte and Lynch turns her for a legscissors pin. Lynch with another pin and Charlotte lands a strike. Lynch keeps her cornered and is sent to the apron, where she lands a right hand. Charlotte kicks her into the corner as she returns to the ring and stomps her down. Clothesline and a forearm leads to a snapmare to apply the figure-four headlock by Charlotte. Lynch bridges into a pin attempt and Charlotte comes back for a nearfall of her own.

Lynch put into the corner and Charlotte with a body shot. Lynch strikes back and Charlotte works her back into the corner. Back elbow from Lynch leads to a pair of clotheslines and a leg lariat. Leg drops from Lynch get a nearfall. Suplex attempt from Lynch countered by Charlotte for one of her own. Charlotte stalking and landing the Bow Down to the Queen.

Winner by pinfall: Charlotte

Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady make their way out again. Amore calls himself a Skywalker smack-talker and he has a razor lightsaber for a French hater. Sylvester Lefort is told to fall back like his hairline and Amore puts up his mohawk against whatever is on Lefort's head in a hair vs. hair match at NXT Takeover II. Cassady says Lefort is "SAWFT!" if he doesn't accept the challenge.

Match Four: Mojo Rawley vs. Steve Cutler

Mojo Rawley runs Steve Cutler into the corner and lands a series of shoulder rams. Rawley ducks a shot from Cutler and lands a shoulder bum for a nearfall. Cutler cornered and fighting back to bounce Rawley out of the corner. Clothesline gets a nearfall for Cutler. Rawley stops Cutler in the corner and works him before whipping him back and forth in the corners. Corner splash lands and another for good measure leads to a hip attack. Hyper Drive converts for Rawley.

Winner by pinfall: Mojo Rawley

Post-match, Mojo Rawley says he stays hyped. Last week, Rawley didn't keep his head on a swivel and Bull Dempsey took advantage of it. Rawley is still standing and he tells Dempsey he isn't just a smile. The smile is gone and Rawley is going to show Dempsey what staying hyped is about.

NXT Tag Team Tournament Semifinals Match Five: Kalisto & Sin Cara vs. Sami Zayn & Adam Rose

Kalisto starts out with Adam Rose. Lockup sees Rose get a side headlock and a shoulder bump. Lockup sees Rose get the arm wrench and Kalisto cartwheels into an armlock of his own that prompts tags on both sides. Sami Zayn gets the armbar and wristlock on Sin Cara. Sin Cara turns into a side headlock takeover and Zayn fights up, only to be taken down. Leapfrogging and ducking sees Sin Cara hit a springboard arm drag. Rose and Zayn outside and Sin Cara and Kalisto springboard in celebration as we break.

We return with Kalisto hitting a side headlock takeover on Rose. Kalisto flips out of a back suplex and hits a springboard corkscrew for a pin attempt. Back to the side headlock takeover from Kalisto. Rose hits the back suplex to break it and Zayn returns with a backbreaker across the knee for a nearfall. Kalisto sent into the corner and bounced off the turnbuckle. Snapmare flipped out of by Kalisto and he runs into the leg of Zayn. Both men ducking and flipping to avoid one another. Kalisto puts on the breaks and backflips on a handstand into a headscissors takeover for a nearfall.

Sin Cara in and a double-team kick lands. Kalisto popped up and dropped with a back splash on Zayn for a pin attempt. Zayn sent into the corner and Sin Cara back bodydropped to the apron. Forearm from Sin Cara gets him up top and the moonsault misses, but the hip toss doesn't and he gets a nearfall. Rear chinlock in and Kalisto returns with a snapmare nearfall. Zayn comes back with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker that nearly gets a pin.

Rose tagged in and working Kalisto in the corner with back kicks to the chest. Rear chinlock applied by Rose and Kalisto kept down with fist drops for a pin attempt. Kalisto kicks Rose away in the corner and Rose plants him with a spinebuster that nearly gets the win. Rose takes a moment and gets kicked away by Kalisto. Sin Cara tags in with springboard headbutts and a crossbody. Zayn sent out by the headscissors takeover and the springboard back elbow nearly wins it.

Kalisto in sends Zayn out with a dropkick and Sin Cara follows with a suicide dive. Rose plants Kalisto with a clothesline. Rose off the ropes and caught with an enzuigiri. Salida del Sol lands for Kalisto and Sin Cara up top with the senton that connects.

Winners by pinfall: Kalisto & Sin Cara

The show closes with Kalisto and Sin Cara leading a lucha chant as Sami Zayn helps Adam Rose to the back.
