Impact: Aries and Option C fail at Destination X

Former TNA X Division Champion Austin Aries has given it all up for the biggest prize of them all. The creator of Option C has cashed in the X Division gold for a chance at the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Tonight on the special Destination X edition of TNA Impact, Aries battles champion Bobby Lashley for the biggest belt in TNA! Plus, The Hardys reunite for another run at the tag team top against TNA Tag Team Champions The Wolves! All that and more on this week's special Destination X edition of TNA Impact!

Video from earlier today shows Austin Aries in the ring. Aries says this place will be packed in a few hours and he will use that energy from the crowd to become the TNA World Heavyweight Champion.

We are on tape from New York City, N.Y. Mike Tenay and Taz have the call for this week.

TNA President Dixie Carter, Ethan Carter III, Rockstar Spud, Rhino, Snitsky, and Big Zeke. Carter says every time people think they know the rules, she changes the game on them. Bully Ray, Devon, and Tommy Dreamer have all been beaten. Carter tells them they are living in the past and are pathetic. Rhino takes the mic and tells the crowd to show some respect. Carter tells the crowd that if they chant ECW, she will give it to them. However, she will not give them old has-beens. She has given them true ECW and given them a star in his own brand in EC3.

Ethan Carter III introduces his "extreme army." EC3 takes away the handle of Big Zeke and introduces him as Rycklon. EC3 introduces Gene Snitsky and Rhino and challenges Bully Ray to a battle for the sway of the company. EC3 tells the crowd Dixie will never be going through a table and challenges Team 3D and Dreamer for one last battle where this building will be torn down and rebuilt as the house that the Carters built. EC3 says he and his army will put Team 3D and Dreamer down forever.

TNA Destination X qualifiers are previewed and entrances are made for the TNA Tag Team Championship bout.

Match One for the TNA Tag Team Championships: The Wolves (c) vs. The Hardys

Matt Hardy starts out with Eddie Edwards. Both men exchanging armlocks and submissions. Davey Richards in with a sledge to the arm of Matt. Double-team offense from The Wolves connects and Jeff brought in. Shots landing and a side headlock applied by Jeff. Step-over kick connects and Jeff to the apron. Matt with an armbreaker on Richards and Matt in with an elbow to the left arm of Richards. Jeff returns and a double-clothesline connects. Hardys working Richards with quick tags. Double-team suplex gets Matt a nearfall.

Wristlock applied by Matt and Richards punching out. Clothesline drops Richards and Jeff again in. Richards in the corner and Matt drops down in front of him. Jeff runs into a Richards clothesline as Matt is used as a catapult. Tag to Edwards cannot be prevented and back elbows landing on the Hardys. Double-team back suplex flipped out of by Edwards and a double-hurricanrana sends the Hardys out. Double-team suicide dive lands for The Wolves.

Back inside, The Wolves with strikes in the corner on Jeff. Kick from Richards is followed by a German suplex from Edwards and a jackknife cover gets Richars a nearfall. Matt inside and he saves Jeff as they toss The Wolves out. Matt drops down again and Jeff launches himself into The Wolves on the floor. Inside, Matt with a Side Effect after Jeff again launches into Edwards. Swanton lands on Edwards and gets a close nearfall broken by Richards.

Richards and Jeff tumble outside and Matt with a moonsault from the top that nearly wins it. Richards breaks the pin and is again thrown out. Edwards locked in the Ice Pick by Matt and Richards is stuck in it by Jeff. Richards falls forward onto Matt to break both holds. Richards on the apron and Jeff tries to fly again, but tumbles to the floor as Richards moves away. Edwards and Matt exchange forearms. Popup into a roundhouse lands for The Wolves and the double-team double-foot stomps land from the top, but are unable to put Matt away.

Richards being swept outside by Jeff and Edwards with a flip dive over the top to take out Jeff. Matt with a Twist of Fate on Richards that nearly wins it. Matt going to the well again and Richards with a backslide that nearly takes it. Matt clubbing Richards down and sits him up top. On the apron, Edwards lands with a head kick and gets Matt in powerbomb position. Richards with headbutts and Edwards moves to the center of the ring. Backstabber out of the air by Richards lands.

Winners by pinfall and still TNA Tag Team Champions: The Wolves

Post-match, TNA Tag Team Champions The Wolves and The Hardy shake hands over the belts.

X Division Qualifier Match Two: Low Ki vs. DJ Z vs, Manik

Low Ki lands a forearm on DJ Z to start. Manik and Low Ki countering the strikes of one another until Low Ki sweeps the leg and misses on a stomp. Both men pause and receive a missile dropkick from DJ Z. Manik outside and DJ Z working Low Ki in the corner. Shoulder ram from the apron by DJ Z on Low Ki leads to a curb stomp and a baseball slide on Manik. Tornado DDT by DJ Z is dropped by Low Ki and Low Ki with an elbow in the corner. Elbows connect and Manik back in. All three men down.

Manik and Low Ki first up and lands a kick on Low Ki and a headscissors on DJ Z. Catching himself between the ropes, Manik drops as Low Ki dives and lands outside. DJ Z dropped inside and locked in an octopus stretch. Deathlock applied by Manik and Low Ki in with roundhouse kicks that drop Manik, wrenching the legs of DJ Z. Low Ki tries to fake a knee and gets caught with a Northern Lights Suplex for a nearfall that torques the legs of DJ Z further.

Low Ki back elbows Manik away. Cradle attempt by Low Ki on DJ Z fails and Low Ki hits a dropkick that knocks both men down. DJ Z with a seated senton after knocking Low Ki off up top that nearly gets the pin on Manik. DJ Z up top and Low Ki handsprings into a kick that sends DJ Z tumbling to the ramp. Ki Krusher connects on Manik.

Winner by pinfall and contender for the TNA X Division Championship: Low Ki

"Cowboy" James Storm in the ring. Storm introduces himself as a legend. Storm calls himself the leader of a revolution and the new mentor, lead, and friend of Sanada. Storm will make sure Sanada gets done what he needs to get done and introduces Sanada.

X Division Qualifier Match Three: Sanada vs. Brian Cage vs. Crazzy Steve (w/The Menagerie)

Brian Cage landing clotheslines and back elbows. Dropkick on Crazzy Steve and a pair of backbreakers on Sanada and Crazzy Steve. Tilt-a-whirl backbreaker and a slam from Cage get a nearfall on Sanada. Steve steps up to Cage and asks for a test of strength. Steve with a stomp to the foot and a side headlock. Cage counters and hits a Samoan Drop on Sanada while landing a fallaway slam on Steve for a nearfall.

Cage worked in the corner by Sanada. Boot up for Cage and Sanada back bodydropped outside. Steve up top and Cage meets him. Delayed vertical suplex nearly connects. Steve fights out and sunset flips into a powerbomb for a quick pin that is broken by Sanada. Sanada picks up Steve and gets sunset flipped into the turnbuckles. Cage and Steve now exchanging. Driver lands, but a springboard moonsault misses. Sanada with the Tiger Suplex from behind on Steve.

Winner by pinfall and contender for the TNA X Division Championship: Sanada

Team 3D and Tommy Dreamer. Bully Ray says they know what they plan to say and they know what their answer is so it is a matter of letting everyone know next.

Bobby Roode meets up with Austin Aries backstage. Roode says this is deja vu as usual. Roode says two years ago it was them and he looked past Aries. Roode admits it wasn't a fluke. Tonight, Roode tells Aries it is his chance for retribution for everything MVP has done. Aries says he will beat Lashley and there is nothing he'd love more than to give Roode a title shot.

Team 3D and Tommy Dreamer make their way to the ring. Devon greets the crowd and says he may have been gone for a bit, but EC3 must be stuck on stupid. EC3 challenged them to a war and himself, his brother, and Dreamer are masters of starting and finishing wars. Dreamer with the mic. Dreamer says this is about something bigger than EC3. Dreamer has been in wars with and against Team 3D and many others who have sweat and bled. Being hardcore is a work ethic and there are many who embody that ECW work ethic backstage right now. Dreamer doesn't know how much he has left, but he wants to get it done with EC3 right now.

EC3 and his team make their way down. EC3 says it is set and it will be on Carter time. They go to war next week. Bully Ray tells EC3 nobody wants to go to war next week. Bully asks if EC3 knows where he is and tells him that he is in New York City and he is going to die. Bully could start a riot right now and he has been known for that in this town. Bully says EC3 can have the time, but he wants the terms. Bully says it will be eight-man weapons extreme hardcore war and that, by this time next week, Dixie Carter will be put through a table.

TNA Executive Director of Wrestling Operations Kurt Angle talking with Samoa Joe. Angle is told that the conversation looked intense and Angle says Destination X is about to have no limits.

Team Carter is shown meeting in Dixie Carter's office. EC3 tells the team that Bully Ray has threatened the boss one too many times. Next week, it ends one way or another. Dixie Carter says her one way or another is King Mo, just in case.

The Beautiful People backstage. The group wonders why people put TNA Knockouts Champion Gail Kim and Taryn Terrell on a pedestal when The Beautiful People are what they should be paying attention to. Kurt Angle is blocking Love's rematch, but next week she'll have an announcement worth paying attention to.

Samoa Joe makes his way out. Joe welcomes the audience to Destination X and says himself and Kurt Angle were having a conversation about reinvigorating the X Division. Angle has done well changing the ring and bringing back some talent, but the X Division can't be reinvigorated without him.

X Division Qualifier Match Four: Samoa Joe vs. Tigre Uno vs. Homicide

Homicide with a dropkick on Samoa Joe and an arm drag on Tigre Uno. Uno and Joe sent out and Homicide lands a flip suicide dive through the ropes on both as we break.

We return to Uno hitting a double-missile dropkick. Guillotine leg drop on the second rope on Homicide connects for Uno. Bulldog lands on Joe and Uno runs into a double-team from Joe and Homicide. High-low connects and sends Uno out. Homicide and Joe exchanging forearms in the center of the ring. Leg kicks from Joe land and Homicide gets a cutter. Nearfall because of a rope break from Joe.

Homicide runs into a belly-to-belly. Splash in the corner lands for Joe and the head kick converts. Knees from Joe set up a powerbomb, but Uno with a dropkick. Kick from the apron lands and Uno with a senton on top of Homicide on the legs for a pin attempt. Joe landing punches and dropping Uno. Inverted atomic drop and big boot connect for Joe, but the back splash misses. Springboard corkscrew lands for Uno for a nearfall.

Back elbow out of the corner from Homicide gets a tornado DDT on Uno. Rope break prevents the pin and Homicide looking for the Gringo Killer. Joe with a chop to the back and a clothesline on Uno. Homicide with a back elbow out of the corner. Joe turns it around and hits the STJoe. Tigre Uno up top with Homicide and jumps to take out Joe, only to miss. Homicide kicks Joe away as he approaches, but Joe with a chop. Muscle Buster lands.

Winner by pinfall and contender for the TNA X Division Championship: Samoa Joe

Video package recaps the rivalry between Abyss and Bram. Abyss has two tickets to a monster's ball next week: one for him and one for Bram. Abyss plans to show Bram how sharp Janice can be and sings My Girl while brandishing Janice.

Match Five for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship: Lashley (c) vs. Austin Aries

The two face-to-face to start. Lockup sees Lashley yank Austin Aries to the mat. Aries ducks a lockup and lands a leg kick. Repeat of the same process sees Aries try to shoot a single, only to be powerbombed. Aries in the corner and he strikes Lashley away. Sunset flip into a Last Chancery reversed by Lashley, but Aries continuing the onslaught of leg kicks. Dropkick on the leg in the corner by Aries. Aries sent outside, but he sneaks inside and flips over Lashley to dropkick him outside.

Aries up top and looking for the double sledge. Aries lands in the arms of Lashley and a belly-to-belly slams Aries to the floor as we break.

We return with Lashley working Aries down with stomps. Shoulder rams in the corner drive Aries outside. Elbows to the body from Aries are countered by clubbing blows by Lashley. Aries ran into the steel post on his stomach twice by Lashley.

Inside, Lashley with a waistlock takedown and the gutwrench is applied. Back elbows from Aries desperately trying to break the hold. Aries struggles out and lands forearms, only to be countered by a bear hug. Aries boxing the ears, but runs into a gorrlla press slam. Running powerslam attempt pushed out of by Aries and a discus forearm in the corner leads to corner work. Lashley charges Aries and falls outside.

Up top, Aries with a double sledge to the floor. Running forearm as Lashley rests against the apron connects. Neckbreaker over the top rope connects and Aries up top. Missile dropkick inside sends Lashley into the corner. Aries charges and runs into a running powerslam. Nearfall for Lashley. Spear setup and countered into a Last Chancery by Aries. Lashley finds a way out and Aries now thinking Brainbuster. Front suplex counter from Lashley. Spear attempt sees Lashley run into the ring post. Dropkick to the head against the post by Aries and a pair of discus forearms and a running dropkick in the corner lead to a Brainbuster that almost puts Lashley away.

Aries up top and Lashley moves outside. Suicide dive attempt by Aries misses and he lands right on the guardrail. Aries out cold on the floor and Lashley brings him back inside. Spear connects.

Winner by pinfall and still TNA World Heavyweight Champion: Lashley

The show closes with Lashley raising his belt as he walks up the ramp triumphantly.
