Impact: Young battles former partner Roode for gold

After retaining the title at Sacrifice, TNA World Heavyweight Champion Eric Young still wants to be a fighting champion. Tonight on TNA Impact, Bobby Roode ends up with a shot at his former Team Canada partner. Will the ruthless Roode be too much for Young? Plus, all the fallout from Sunday's TNA Sacrifice show! All that and more on this week's edition of TNA Impact!

Recap of all the latest events in TNA.

We are on tape from Orlando, Fla. Mike Tenay and Taz have the call for this week.

Bully Ray shown spray painting a table outside the arena.

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Eric Young making his way to the office of TNA Director of Wrestling Operations MVP. Young says he has been counted out every week, but it comes as a surprise to everyone but him. MVP says no one suspected "Showtime" Eric Young to win and he respects that he is taking on all challengers, unlike former champion Magnus. Young tells MVP he wants to defend his title tonight and MVP has a plan.

Mr. Anderson, Gunner, and Bobby Roode all join in the office. MVP has a deck of cards and has the three men draw. The lowest cards face each other to face the highest card. The winner of that match gets the title shot tonight. Gunner and Mr. Anderson draw low and will face Bobby Roode later tonight.

Magnus makes his way to the ring. Magnus is upset at not being selected by MVP to get a chance against Eric Young tonight. Magnus calls for MVP to come out and explain himself. Abyss in the audience and he comes to the ring. Abyss battering Magnus with strikes and sending him into the barricade and ring apron. Chair shot against the pole misses and Magnus stomping Abyss down as he rolls in the ring. Chokeslam attempt is countered by a Magnus low blow, but Abyss gets it the second time around. Abyss goes to get a chair, but is coaxed by the crowd to get "Janice" and he does so. Magnus escapes as Abyss enters the ring.

The announce team runs down the show.

Bully Ray makes his way to the ring with a table. The table has "DIXIE" written on it. Bully describes what TNA President Dixie Carter did to him at Sacrifice and the injuries to the ribs he received. Bully declares that he is still standing and has some choice words before telling Carter that he will put her through that table if he sees her tonight.

Dixie Carter is shown entering the arena. Carter pleasantly states that she was pleased with the results at Sacrifice and doesn't give much more.

Rockstar Spud sees Dixie Carter at catering. Spud pulls a table cloth and tries to cover Carter in it. Spud tells Carter what Bully Ray has promised tonight. Carter isn't afraid. Carter declares Bully to be more bark than bite and she doesn't take kindly to being threatened.

Match One: Mr. Anderson vs. Gunner

Lockup sees Gunner press Mr. Anderson back into the corner. Anderson with a side headlock and he is pressed back in the corner again. Lockup sees Gunner get the side headlock this time around. Both men feign running the ropes to grab side headlocks before Gunner goes off them to land a shoulder bump. Hip tosses from both men are blocked and Anderson misses on a neckbreaker.

Action resets and Gunner again nabs the side headlock. Anderson slips out the back to get one of his own. Gunner breaks it by ramming Anderson into the corner. Snapmare into a rear chinlock for Gunner. Anderson spins out for a hammerlock. Elbow gets Gunner out, but he runs into a clothesline from Anderson for a nearfall.

Side headlock reapplied by Anderson. Gunner works Anderson into the corner and bounces his head off the turnbuckle. Gunner fights out and knocks Anderson down with a series of back elbows. Fallaway slam lands and Gunner goes up top.

Gunner gets down as "Cowboy" James Storm hits the apron. Anderson tries to take advantage of the distraction with a Mic Check, but Gunner shoves him into the corner. Anderson sends Gunner into the corner and charges. Storm with an enzuigiri that cracks Anderson and Gunner connects on Hanger 18.

Winner by pinfall: Gunner

Magnus in the locker room. An old friend of Magnus shows up and tells him that they need to talk.

Magnus asks what his friend, Bram, has come all the way from Britain for. The friend wants to knock some sense into Magnus, calling him a "sorry excuse" and an embarrassment to his friends, family, and the UK. The friend tells Magnus to look at himself now, remarking how he has changed. The friend says he is here for the good of Magnus now.

Ethan Carter III in the ring. EC3 says he has a dream match in a week. EC3 will take on Kurt Angle in a week. The match was supposed to happen at Lockdown, but EC3 remarks how he hurt him and forced him into surgery. EC3 is happy Angle is back so he can validate his status by defeating Angle. EC3 has never lost by pin or submission and he has a sparring session planned for tonight to get ready. The two inform the crowd to not try this at home.

EC3 and Rockstar Spud do an amateur wrestling demonstration. EC3 asks Spud to assume the down position and he locks up before being interrupted by Kurt Angle. Angle calls it cute and wants to warn EC3 what he's getting into next week. Angle will be out for blood next week. His injuries and mockery will cause his undefeated streak to end. Angle promises to hurt him and break his ankle next week.

The Beautiful People discuss their celebration tonight, declaring that the Knockouts will have to wait and see how epic it will be.

Video package shows Knux and his girlfriend, Tanea, preparing to join TNA. Knux wants Tanea to be Rebel. Knux wants himself and Rebel and two other people. Rebel asks who and Knux reluctantly tells her that Crazy Steve and The Freak will be joining them. The Menagerie debuts next week.

Match Two: Gunner vs. Bobby Roode

Lockup sees Gunner work Bobby Roode into the corner. Roode with a kick to the midsection off the break and Gunner on the wrong end of corner work from Roode. Kick from Roode stops the backdrop attempt from Gunner, but he runs into a shoulder bump and strikes. Gunner now with headbutts and strikes. Roode sent into the corner and Gunner with a bodydrop. Falling headbutt gets a nearfall.

Gunner falls outside as he charges Roode. Roode stomping and Gunner brawling back. Roode sends Gunner into the steel steps on his shoulder after the brief resurgence. Gunner has his head bounced off the steps and Roode gets a brief nearfall back inside.

More grounding offense from Roode. Headbutts from Gunner to the midsection connecting. Gunner runs into the boots of Roode in the corner and somersault neckbreaker from Roode gets a pin attempt before he locks in the surfboard stretch. Dropkick plants Gunner after he breaks out of the hold. Roode up top again, but he is caught this time. Fallaway slam lands and some sledgehammer smashes. High knee lands and Roode on the shoulders of Gunner. Roode fishhooks his way out and tries a rollup, but Gunner gets the ropes. DDT from Gunner nearly steals the win.

Roode out on the apron and he uses it to get a hangman's neckbreaker. Roode puts Gunner up for the Roode Bomb. Gunner slides out and hits a slingshot suplex. Gunner up top after smashing his head into the turnbuckles. Flying headbutt misses and Roode puts Gunner up for the Roode Bomb. Roode Bomb converts.

Winner by pinfall: Bobby Roode

TNA President Dixie Carter instructs her security team to put the table in the center of the ring and do not leave her side.

Velvet Sky joins TNA Knockouts Champion Angelina Love. Love has received a letter from the TNA Board of Directors. The letter states Love needs to dress more appropriately to represent the company and Sky is included in that. The two agree to put on their evening gowns and have a bit of a surprise planned for their celebration.

TNA President Dixie Carter makes her way to the ring with her security team. The table is in the middle of the ring and Carter takes a seat. Carter asks the crowd if they know who she is before reminding them that she put Bully Ray through a table at Sacrifice. Carter promises to never forget what he did to her at Lockdown. Carter takes pride being the first woman to put the table specialist through a table. Carter asks if his gesture earlier was supposed to be intimidation. Carter is not afraid and tells Bully that he should fear her.

Bully Ray makes his way out with a chain. A wall of security stands at the end of the ramp. Bully asks if Carter can hear the crowd asking for him to put her through a table. Bully asks if security thinks they can hold him and asks if they really want to stand up for Carter. Bully knows that security want to see him put her through a table. Security moves away after some persuasion.

Bully steps to ringside. Bully will give them to the count of five. If they don't leave, he plans to beat them down and put Carter through the table. Bully begins the count and the crowd finishes it for him. Security holding Bully as he charges. Bully bursts through and sends them all outside. Carter tries to slap Bully, but Bully catches her and sets her up.

MVP comes out and orders both out of his ring. MVP hates to save Carter, but that is his ring as TNA Director of Wrestling Operations and he doesn't have time to waste. Bully Ray and Dixie Carter are barred from the Impact Zone.

Match Three: Willow vs. "Cowboy" James Storm

Willow tries for an ankle pick and is struck down by "Cowboy" James Storm. Storm with a back elbow and some corner work. Storm sends Willow into the corner with velocity. Willow has his head bounced off the turnbuckle and Storm goes to work on the legs of Willow. Storm goes for Eye of the Storm, but Willow out with chopping blows. Inverted atomic drop into the leg drop on the groin of Storm. Dropkick and a step-over heel kick land and corner Storm. Willow with a handspring clothesline. Dropkick in the corner leads to a Twist of Fate that sends Storm outside.

Baseball slide elbow drop to Storm on the floor from Willow. Storm beat against the barricade and Willow sets up the steel steps. Using the steps as a launching pad, flying leg lariat connects for Willow. Head of Storm bounced off the steps and Willow now has a chair. Leg drop with the chair misses for Willow as Storm moves away. Willow gets his umbrella and Storm goes for a beer bottle. The referee admonishes Storm and Storm shoves him to the ground.

Winner by disqualification: Willow

Post-match, James Storm breaks the glass and looks to attack Willow. Willow with an umbrella across the back and he gets the broken bottle. Willow chases him up the ramp, where he is backed by Mr. Anderson. Anderson with the Mic Check.

The BroMans backstage with MVP. The team complains that three-on-two dynamic threw off their game. MVP is confused, but he gives them a shot at the TNA World Tag Team Champions The Wolves and a special partner.

Bully Ray soon steps up to MVP. Bully tells him that the only reason MVP has his position now is because of his help at Lockdown. MVP tells Bully that he is responsible for everything that happens in the arena, but outside of it, he has no jurisdiction.

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Eric Young says that Bobby Roode is possibly the best competition for his belt, considering their history. However, Young knows Roode better than anyone else as well and tonight will be a hashing out of history between the two.

Match Four: The BroMans vs. The Wolves & Sanada

The BroMans attack as the TNA Tag Team Champions The Wolves and TNA X Division Champion Sanada take off their belts and jackets. The Wolves and Sanada soon get the advantage and send The BroMans out. DJ Z attacking Sanada, but Sanada ducks and DJ Z hip tossed high to the outside. Suicide dives from The Wolves and a slingshot crossbody from Sanada connect on the floor.

Back inside, Robbie E in with Sanada. Robbie E tries a chop on the head of Sanada. Chops to the chest of Eddie Edwards and kicks to Davey Richards have the same lack of effect. Richards and Edwards fire off kicks and chops. Chop from Sanada drops Robbie E.

Jessie Godderz and DJ Z get back in and are able to isolate Edwards. Triple kick from the three nearly gets the win. Edwards kips up to land an enzuigiri on DJ Z. Robbie E has the rope pulled down on him and Godderz sent through the ropes.

Richards in with clotheslines and roundhouse kicks to the midsection. DJ Z stops a bodydrop, only to be pressed up into a head kick from Richards. Running forearm in the corner connects and an exploder suplex lands for a nearfall that is broken in time by Richards, forcing The BroMans to drop strikes on their partner.

Sanada in with a double chop. DJ Z stuck alone in the middle of the ring. Foot stomp to the back from Edwards. Moonsault lands for Sanada. Foot stomp to the front from the top by Richards puts the cherry on top.

Winners by pinfall: The Wolves & Sanada

The Beautiful People are prepared for their celebration.

TNA Knockouts Champion Angelina Love and Velvet Sky make their way out in evening gown attire. Love reiterates the dress code letter. However, The Beautiful People take orders from no one and the two plan to take it all off right now. The ladies take off their gloves and tease before taunting the crowd. The letter was written by them to show the crowd what they could never have. Love asks for everyone to stand up for the greatest TNA Knockouts Champion ever.

Gail Kim interrupts. Gail Kim says The Beautiful People have made a mockery of the division she created. Gail Kim says she promises to strip The Beautiful People of everything and starts the attack. The Beautiful People get away after Sky drags Love out after being clotheslined. Madison Rayne and Brittany back them and strip them down, sending them running backstage.

Match Five for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship: Eric Young (c) vs. Bobby Roode

Bobby Roode with the side headlock into a hammerlock. Fireman's carry from Eric Young into an armbar. Side headlock and shoulder bump from Young put Roode down. Roode with a kick to the midsection and an elbow. Side headlock and shoulder bump from Roode connect. Young leapfrogs and ducks into an arm drag, Armbar now in for Young and Roode muscles him back into the corner. Roode with a punch off the break and Young sent into the corner. Young floats over and lands a punch of his own. Dropkick sends Roode out.

Young looks for a suicide dive, but Roode moves out of the way. Young scouts Roode to the other side and lands a slide kick that sends Roode into the barricade as we break.

We return with Young working Roode in the corner. Young sent over the top and out to the floor. Roode sends Young into the steel steps outside. Roode with a nearfall inside. Roode stomping Young down. Knee drop lands on the head of Young for another nearfall.

Full nelson in for Roode. Young powers out and lands a few shots. Flying forearm and a clothesline connect for Young. Young floats over in the corner and lands a shoulder block on the apron. Belly-to-belly suplex connects and sends Roode out. Suicide dive to the outside connects for Young. Roode sent back in and Young up top. Missile dropkick connects for a close nearfall.

Piledriver attempt is turned into a backdrop for Roode. Young tries to sunset flip, but Roode sits down and hooks the legs for a nearfall. Crucifix gets Young a nearfall of his own. Young with a punch, but he runs into a spinebuster from Roode for a nearfall. Roode Bomb attempt is countered by Young. Roode escapes the wheelbarrow counter and sends Young into the corner. Springboard crossbody misses and Roode up top. Roode comes down into a kick to the midsection and the piledriver converts. Roode barely kicks out.

Young up top. Roode barely gets to the top rope to crotch Young. Young staggered and Roode connects on a Roode Bomb that Young barely kicks out of as well. Both men exchanging shots from their knees as they get up to their feet. Kick from Roode is caught, but he turns it into an enzuigiri. Young wobbled and set up top. Young fighting back and he drops Roode. Elbow drop connects from the top.

Winner by pinfall and still TNA World Heavyweight Champion: Eric Young

Post-match, TNA World Heavyweight Champion Eric Young offers a hand to help Bobby Roode up. Young helps Roode up.

The show closes with Bully Ray declaring that he is going to TNA offices in Nashville.
