Impact: Abyss fights for a spot against Magnus

After failing to keep the TNA World Heavyweight Championship around the waist of Magnus, the business relationship between Abyss and the former champion has been shaky. Tonight on TNA Impact, Abyss is given a chance at an official contract with TNA. All he has to do is beat his former employer. Plus, Kurt Angle returns against Rockstar Spud! All that and more on this week's edition of TNA Impact!

Kurt Angle warming up backstage. Angle is ready for Rockstar Spud, but if Spud backs out, Angle will set his sights on Ethan Carter III.

Recap of all the latest events in TNA.

We are on tape from Orlando, Fla. Mike Tenay and Taz have the call for this week.

Magnus makes his way to the ring with a turnbuckle holder in place. Magnus stops his normal introduction, realizing he is no longer TNA World Heavyweight Championship. Magnus doesn't believe he got beat by TNA World Heavyweight Champion Eric Young, but that he didn't have good help. Magnus calls for Abyss to tell him what he needs to say face-to-face.

Abyss heads to the ring. Magnus immediately demeans Abyss as a "blithering idiot." Magnus calls Abyss a "puke" and declares that everyone abandoned Abyss because he was a disappointment. Magnus asked Abyss to make sure the TNA World Heavyweight Championship never left him. Abyss reminds Magnus that TNA Director of Wrestling Operations MVP was going to fire anyone who interrupted the match. Magnus fires Abyss for his lack of help. Abyss says he felt like he belonged and felt like a friend against Magnus. After some choice names, Abyss reminds Magnus that he is a monster that hurts and maims. Abyss threatens to end the career of Magnus. Magnus declares that he isn't under contract and he will take legal action if he attacks him.

TNA Director of Wrestling Operations MVP hits the ramp. MVP tries to diffuse the situation, telling Magnus to put down his weapon. MVP talk about second chances, even if Abyss isn't his favorite person right now. MVP offers Abyss a roster spot in TNA if he can beat Magnus tonight. Abyss promises to beat Magnus down tonight.

Rockstar Spud is met by Ethan Carter III in the locker room. Spud doesn't want a pep talk and EC3 promises to give him truth. EC3 says Angle is back and just as dangerous as ever. EC3 believes that only he can beat him and tells Spud that he has a plan in store. EC3 has told Spud to be a lion and a tiger, but tonight, he wants him to be a gazelle.

Match One: Kurt Angle vs. Rockstar Spud (w/Ethan Carter III)

Rockstar Spud begs Kurt Angle and then dives in on a single-leg takedown. Angle with a gutwrench throw. Angle distracted by Ethan Carter III and Spud tries leg kicks. Tilt-a-whirl backbreaker from Angle followed by punches. Backdrop attempt by Angle countered by a kick and Spud runs outside. EC3 holds the leg of Angle as he tries to reenter and the referee has his back turned as Spud lands a dropkick. Punches from mount by Spud are followed by a missile dropkick for a nearfall.

Spud encouraged to go up top by EC3 once again. Angle meets him there and hits a belly-to-belly superplex. Straps are down for Angle and the Ankle Lock put in.

Winner by submission: Kurt Angle

Post-match, Ethan Carter III with a chop block to the injured knee of Angle. Leglock attempt from EC3 is stopped by Willow, who runs out to make the save.

The Beautiful People discussing their problems with TNA Knockouts Champion Madison Rayne. The two have a designer bag and they promise to give Rayne a makeover tonight.

MVP on the phone, discussing his match with Austin Aries tonight. Kenny King in his office. MVP has a problem with how comfortable King has been lately and offers him a match tonight.

TNA Knockouts Champion Madison Rayne makes her way down the ramp. Rayne calls for The Beautiful People to come give her a makeover.

The Beautiful People hit the ring. Angelina Love says Rayne looks a little tired. Love asks if Rayne's child has been keeping her up all night. Love wants Rayne to thank them for the free makeover they offered. Rayne apologizes for everything and apologizes for what she is about to do.

Rayne kicks both women in the stomach and attacks them. Rayne working in the corner before the numbers overwhelm her. Love calls Rayne a nobody as Velvet Sky pins Rayne to the mat. The attack continues before Brittany attempts to make the save. Clothesline from Sky as Love holds the legs sends Brittany out. In Yo' Face on Rayne connects and a bag with the face of Angelina Love is placed over the head of Rayne.

Mr. Anderson shown in the hometown of Samuel Shaw. Anderson has his childhood address and invites the cameras to follow him.

During the commercial break, Gail Kim is shown talking to Madison Rayne. Gail Kim doesn't want The Beautiful People to take over her division and offers to tag with Rayne. Rayne accepts and Brittany says she will join them. Rayne turns her down.

Match Two: Kenny King vs. Bobby Lashley

Bobby Lashley taking the back of Kenny King with a waistlock. Waistlock takedown and a repeat of the same from Lashley. Side headlock for Lashley and he works King into the corner. Shoulder bump lands and King leapfrogs and ducks Lashley to land a drop toehold. King with a side headlock, but Lashley slams his way out.

Sidewalk slam from Lashley sends King outside. King tries to attack Lashley from behind, but a leapfrog from Lashley sends King into a powerslam coming off the ropes. Lashley looking for some corner work and the referee steps in. Lashley picks the referee up and sits him aside before blocking a punch for a wristlock.

Closed fist from Lashley again draws the attention of the referee, allowing King to poke the eyes. Bulldog into a hangman's neckbreaker to to the outside from King. Springboard missile dropkick lands and King striking Lashley down. Rake of the eyes as Lashley tries to get back in it sees King get a headlock. Lashley fights out to land a belly-to-belly suplex. Body shots and punches landing for Lashley. Clothesline and a spear in the corner leads to a throw in the middle of the ring. King comes back with a pendulum kick and goes up top. King flips and Lashley catches him for a delayed vertical suplex. King cornered and he moves outside as Lashley charges. King walks up and down the ramp as the referee counts King out.

Winner by countout: Bobby Lashley

Mr. Anderson shows up at the house of Samuel Shaw. Christy Shaw meets Anderson and invites him in.

Beer Money, Inc. meeting in the locker room. "Cowboy" James Storm reminds Bobby Roode that he didn't forget what Roode has done to him. Roode asks why he asked him to be his partner tonight. Storm says the team was unbeatable when they are together and he wants to make Gunner regret never thanking him. Plus, Storm wants to make Gunner's father cry. Roode laughs and says he gets that same entertainment from putting Bully Ray through tables as the team prepares.

Match Three: Austin Aries vs. MVP

Austin Aries locks in a side headlock and transitions into a full nelson. Front chinlock from Aries countered by MVP into an arm wrench. Aries flips out into a side headlock takeover. Legscissors from MVP countered by a headstand into a dropkick from Aries. MVP back up with strikes that floor Aries.

Aries moves outside to avoid the elbow drop from MVP and tries to sweep the leg. Stomps to the hands of Aries connect and a crossbody over the top from MVP connects. Action tries to move inside, but Aries dropkicks the knee of MVP while he is on the apron to send him down. Double sledge from the top connects for Aries. Back inside, slingshot splash and an elbow drop get an Aries nearfall. European Uppercut from the top to the back of the head gets Aries another pin attempt.

MVP fighting back with strikes, but Aries reverses him into the corner. Running dropkick misses and MVP in control with corner clotheslines. Aries bites the arm of MVP as he grabs the collar tie. Aries looks for a discus forearm, but forearm shots from Aries countered by a lariat that earns MVP a nearfall.

Ballin' Elbow lands for MVP. MVP has the waistlock on Aries, but Aries with the standing switch to land a discus forearm. Brainbuster attempt countered into a belly-to-back release suplex from MVP. Yakuza Kick from MVP stopped by Aries, who gets a kneebreaker. Running corner dropkick nearly gets Aries the win.

Aries up top for the 450 Splash. MVP moves out of the way and connects on Aries with the Yakuza Kick.

Winner by pinfall: MVP

TNA X Division Champion Sanada is profiled in a video package.

Mr. Anderson in the kitchen with Mrs. Shaw. Mrs. Shaw brings out some tea.for the two. Anderson tells Mrs. Shaw that he works with Samuel and asks what that smell is. Mrs. Shaw tells Anderson that she makes Samuel an apple pie everyday and delivers it to his room in the basement. Samuel isn't home, but the two go to check out the bedroom of Samuel Shaw.

Match Four: "Cowboy" James Storm & Bobby Roode vs. Bully Ray & Gunner

Bully Ray starts with "Cowboy" James Storm. Storm locks in the side headlock. Shoulder bump from Bully puts Storm down and he works an arm wrench. Backdrop attempt countered by Storm, but Bully gets Storm down. Backdrop for Roode and an arm wrench in on Storm again.

Gunner in with a splash on the arm of Storm. Rake of the eyes brings Bobby Roode in, but he is dropped by clotheslines and a slam. Headbutt gets a nearfall and Bully back in. Double shoulder block from the team knocks Roode down. Roode gets Bully into their corner and the illegal double team offense begins. Storm in with a nearfall.

Roode in and he bounces the head of Bully off the turnbuckle. Roode with some corner work and a back elbow that puts Bully down. Front facelock in for Roode. Bully gets to his feet, but he is dropped by Bully. Gunner steps in and the referee ties him up, allowing Storm to bite the head of Bully. Roode taunts Bully and gets chopped across the chest. Roode fires back and heads off the ropes, running into a sidewalk slam.

Gunner and Storm in. Clotheslines, headbutts, and punches for both members of the former Beer Money, Inc. Corner splashes connect and a slingshot suplex gets a nearfall on Storm. Roode breaks it and he is taken out by Bully. Bionic elbow from Bully. Storm put down by a slam and Bully wishbones Storm. Headbutt to the groin from Gunner connects.

Bully asks for it and Gunner heads out to get the tables. Roode meets him, but he is laid out on the table. Bully on the apron and he hits an elbow drop on the table right as Roode moves away. Inside, Gunner with a DDT that nearly wins the match. Roode breaks the pin and gets a Hanger 18 from Gunner. Last Call Superkick connects for Storm.

Winners by pinfall: "Cowboy" James Storm & Bobby Roode

Magnus backstage. Magnus believes Abyss didn't fulfill his obligation to him and Magnus wants to fulfill an obligation to himself by ending the career of Abyss. Magnus says no one can stop him.

Mr. Anderson is shown going down into the basement and he gets to the room of Samuel Shaw. Anderson declares "oh my God" as we break.

Mr. Anderson is shown in the room of Samuel Shaw, adorned with bunk beds and childhood decor. Samuel Shaw barges in and brawls with Anderson. The cameraman moves upstairs, where Mrs. Shaw asks if he'd like some apple pie. Shaw comes up with bloodied lips and hugs his mom as the cameraman leaves.

Match Five: The Beautiful People vs. Gail Kim & Madison Rayne

TNA Knockouts Champion Madison Rayne starts with Velvet Sky. Sky continues to duck between the ropes before Rayne gets to her. Rayne yanking Sky to the mat by her hair. Jawbreaker on Love by Rayne and Gail Kim gets in. Clotheslines for both ladies followed by slide kicks. Rayne bounces the heads of The Beautiful People together. Legscissors from Rayne as she bounces the head of Sky into the mat for a nearfall.

Gail Kim tagged in and lands a clothesline for another nearfall. Angelina Love makes the tag as Sky runs the ropes and yanks Gail Kim down by her hair for a nearfall.

Love sent into the corner by Gail Kim. Running shoulder block from Gail Kim and a boot for Sky. The Beautiful People attempt to run away, but they are brought back in. Legscissors choke from Gail Kim on Love. Sky comes in with a dropkick to the back of the head. Love uses the distraction to lock in a sleeper. Gail Kim runs her into the corner and hits a backbreaker.

Rayne returns with forearm shots and an enzuigiri. Running kick for Sky as she comes in. Sky and Gail Kim fight outside and Gail Kim knocked out as she is bounced off the apron. Rayne with a back splash in the corner on Love. Sky moves in and eats a spear from Rayne. Love from behind with a rollup and a handful of tights.

Winners by pinfall: The Beautiful People

Video package shows Knux meeting a girlfriend as he returns home. Knux's girlfriend wants to leave it all behind and join him in TNA.

Abyss backstage. Abyss wants redemption and to make everything right in his life. Abyss just wanted belonging from Magnus and he made a mistake by hurting those who cared about him most. Abyss says that this match is for one of the people he hurt most.

Video package shows The Wolves challenging TNA Tag Team Champions The BroMans to a handicap match at Sacrifice with the belts on the line.

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Eric Young joins commentary for the main event.

Match Six: Magnus vs. Abyss

Magnus gets face-to-face and Abyss immediately starts striking Magnus into the corner. Abyss runs into a boot, but gets clotheslines going before sending Magnus out to the floor as we break.

We return with Magnus working Abyss in the corner. Abyss has his leg kicked out from under him. Magnus with stomps and kicks to the left leg. Inside trip followed by a leglock from Magnus. The hold is relinquished and stomps on the leg continue from Magnus. Right hands landing, but Magnus lands in a Chokeslam attempt from Abyss. Magnus attacks the leg and puts Abyss down.

Spinning toehold attempt from Magnus sees Abyss shove him away. Magnus outside and Abyss looks to follow, but Magnus trips him and wishbones him around the ring post. Abyss yanks Magnus into the post and brawls outside.

Back inside, Magnus fighting back. Chokeslam locked in on Magnus, but Magnus punts Abyss in the groin.

Winner by disqualification: Magnus

Post-match, Magnus taking the chair to the back of Abyss over and over. The chair now being driven into the leg of Abyss.

TNA World Heavyweight Champion Eric Young comes in to make the save as the referee is cornered by Magnus, but he connects with a low blow. Magnus now taking the chair across the torso of both Young and Abyss. The show closes with Magnus standing over Abyss and Young.
