Impact: Eric Young captures the world title

A gauntlet match will determine the number one contender for the TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus. Tonight on TNA Impact, given the ever chaotic nature inside the Impact Zone, what will go down as we get closer to TNA Sacrifice? Plus, the TNA Tag Team Championships are up for grabs! All that and more on this week's edition of TNA Impact!

TNA President Dixie Carter is shown making her way into the arena. Carter says she'll have a lot to say later.

Recap of the all the latest events in TNA.

We are on tape from Orlando, Fla. Mike Tenay and Taz have the call for this week.

TNA Director of Wrestling Operations MVP is in his office. MVP declares that TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus makes the ultimate sacrifice each week by laying his belt on the line, but then says that ten men will fight for a shot at the TNA World Heavyweight Championship in a gauntlet match. The winner will get a shot at Sacrifice and that match will kick off the show for us.


Gauntlet Match One

"Cowboy" James Storm and Gunner start us off. The two brawl midway up the ramp and take it to ringside. Gunner in control as it moves to the ring with strikes and a shoulder bump. Storm sent to the apron, but he lands a kick to the back of the head and goes up top. Storm caught for a Gunner fallaway slam. Gunner looking to send Storm over the top, but he fights back. Clothesline in the corner drops Storm and he works to send him over again. Storm fights back with strikes.

Bobby Roode joins the match. Roode immediately goes after Gunner with strikes and corner work. Clothesline knocks Gunner down. The former Beer Money partners go after Gunner and work the double team attack. Gunner sent out to the apron and being stomped.

Bully Ray next and he gets the better of Storm and Roode to start. Suplex from the two puts Bully down temporarily, but he comes back with a clothesline that knocks both down. Gunner in control of Roode while Bully works on Storm. Roode down and his legs wishboned as Gunner is up top. Storm saves him.

Ethan Carter III in and a brief surge of offense is stopped by Bully. Roode and EC3 work at Bully together, but Bully turns it around on EC3. Chops connect on Storm and EC3 before Roode gets the upper hand.

Bobby Lashley in and taking everyone out. Shoulder ram on Roode in the corner is followed by a suplex. EC3 taken out by Lashley and Bully Ray. Storm down courtesy of Bully and Gunner working on Roode. EC3 in danger of elimination by Lashley.

Abyss next and he pinballs back and forth between Bully and Roode. Gunner gets dropped and Abyss going after everyone. Posing against the ropes, Bully and Lashley attempt to dump him over the top as TNA World Heavyweight Champion Magnus joins the announce team before we break.

We return with TNA X Division Champion Sanada having joined the match and Eric Young makes his way out. Young goes after Abyss immediately as the brawl continues.

Willow is the final participant in the ten-man match. Willow immediately after EC3 and he is put on the apron. Dropkick lands for Willow and he looks to suplex EC3 outside. Rockstar Spud wheels his way down and stands up. Spud yanks Willow to the outside and Willow is the first elimination from the contest. Willow chases Spud to the back.

Inside, Sanada going after Abyss and he gets chokeslammed before being sent out. Sanada is eliminated and Lashley soon spears Abyss. EC3 tries to go after Lashley, but he is slammed. Last Call Superkick catches Lashley and Roode sends him out. Lashley is eliminated.

Roode and Bully trading. Roode sent to the apron and a big boot from Bully sends Roode down. Roode has been eliminated. Bully striking on EC3 now and going for the bionic elbow, but Roode yanks him by the arm. EC3 helps out and Bully has been eliminated. EC3 and Gunner going after each other. Gunner slams his own head into the turnbuckle in the corner and hits a knee on EC3. Gunner has EC3 up, but he eats a Last Call Superkick. Gunner has been eliminated.

Young now at a disadvantage as Storm, EC3, and Abyss look to go after him. Young fighting back with shots, but he is sent to the apron by EC3. Young skins the cat and gets a headscissors on EC3. Ethan Carter III has been eliminated.

Inside, Young gets hit with an enzuigiri from Storm and a splash from Abyss. Young cornered, but he gets the boot up and an elbow to send both men away. Backdrop suplex on Storm and an elbow drop from the top on Abyss. Closing Time from Storm ends the offense and he looks for a Last Call. Young ducks and sends him to the apron. Storm attempts to skin the cat, but a dropkick sends him out. "Cowboy" James Storm has been eliminated.

Abyss from behind on Young with a Shock Treatment backbreaker. Abyss puts him on the apron, but Young continues to hang on. Shoulder ram and some punches in the corner from Young. Flip to the apron by Young gets him another shoulder ram and a missile dropkick. Clothesline by Young sends Abyss out and his feet catch the shoulder of Abyss.

Winner: Eric Young

Christy Hemme joins Eric Young in the ring. Young calls for MVP to join him for a request as we break.

MVP makes his way out after Young calls for him once again. Young thanks MVP for the job he is doing and declares that anything can happen on live television. Young says he feels crazy tonight and he wants to roll the dice. Young has waited ten years and he wants to cash in his title shot tonight. MVP asks if he is hearing him correctly and he tells Magnus to suit up for a title match tonight.

Magnus declares that the champion is speaking. Magnus declares that he is fine with a title match because Magnus rules always win in the end. MVP flips it on him and says any DQ or countout will cause Magnus to forfeit the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. MVP further bans Abyss from ringside and declares that any other interference will lead to the firing of the wrestler involved.

Rockstar Spud has a party room prepared for Dixie Carter. Carter believes Spud has turned on her and believes he is working for MVP before storming off. A knock at the door leads to Willow running in and attacking Spud while destroying the room.

Number One Contender Match Two: Brittany vs. ODB vs. Gail Kim vs. Angelina Love (w/Velvet Sky)

Brittany ties up with Gail Kim and ODB works with Angelina Love. Love sent out by ODB and Gail Kim put down in the corner. Brittany and ODB trade shots and soon put each other down with clotheslines. ODB sent out and Gail Kim working on Brittany. Velvet Sky stomping ODB down on the outside. Dropkick from Gail Kim leads to a nearfall for both her and Love as Love drags her off to try and steal the win.

Love and Gail Kim going at it. Brittany back up and she takes on both. Handspring back elbow connects in the corner on Gail Kim, but Love with a clothesline and a sidewalk slam for a nearfall that is broken by ODB. Splash in the corner on Love and a fallaway slam on Gail Kim. Bronco buster on Love connects, but ODB dragged to the mat by her hair. Lights Out on Brittany after Brittany hits a handspring moonsault on ODB. Gail Kim and Love now left and Gail Kim with a backbreaker. Hairspray from Velvet Sky in the eyes of Gail Kim and a superkick connects.

Winner by pinfall: Angelina Love

MVP and Dixie Carter meet up in the office. MVP threatens security on Carter and Carter discusses what MVP did last week to Kenny King. Carter said she is here tonight to take care of the disgruntled employee that cost her at Lockdown and tells MVP to be front row when she handles it.

The Wolves and DJ Z and one half of the TNA Tag Team Champion BroMans Jessie Godderz are in the office of MVP. Robbie E apparently had his flight cancelled and The BroMans look to be off for another week. MVP says Robbie E has until bell time to show up. If not, DJ Z will take his spot and the belts will be on the line.

Recap of the events that lead to the TNA World Heavyweight Championship match.

Magnus in his locker room. Magnus believes Eric Young has made a tactical error and he will regret it during the match tonight.

TNA President Dixie Carter calls for Bully Ray. Bully Ray hits the ring and holds up the microphone as the crowd asks for Bully to put Carter through a table. Bully further encourages the crowd before telling Carter that he is shocked to see her actually show up for a meeting. Carter tells Bully he got conned by Bobby Roode to take him out in Nashville. Carter then recaps how Roode put him through three tables. Carter asks why Bully cost her the company and Bully says this company belongs to the wrestlers and the fans. Carter wants the money back that she paid him. Bully details how he spent the money and asks Carter if she knows who he is. Carter smacks him and tells him who she is before smacking him again. Bully walks Carter down in the corner.

Bobby Roode from behind and stomping Bully Ray down. Roode is instructed to get a table by Carter and he does. Bully fighting back and he sends Roode outside. Bully staring Carter down and he looks poised to put Carter through the table as we break.

Magnus and Dixie Carter meet backstage. Magnus upset Carter doesn't even stop to greet him or wish him luck. Carter knows Magnus has a plan and she plans to get to the airport and get back home. Carter says Magnus isn't her project anymore and he needs to use his plan alone tonight before storming off.

Match Three for the TNA Tag Team Championships: The BroMans (c) vs. The Wolves

Jessie Godderz with Eddie Edwards to start. Edwards with a chop to start and Godderz gets a side headlock. Double team attacks from The Wovles connect on Godderz and DJ Z. Hangman's neckbreaker from DJ Z on Davey Richards allows Godderz to get a dropkick. The Wolves soon regain control and get a pair of suicide dives to take out The BroMans.

Back inside, The Wolves look to work the double team attacks further on DJ Z. Edwards and Z left alone now and an attack with the knee from Godderz as Edwards runs the ropes stops the momentum. Godderz in and they try a double backdrop suplex. Hurricanrana from Edwards on both connects. Richards in and cleaning house. Running forearm in the corner connects and a missile dropkick puts Godderz down. Richards breaks the nearfall to allow Z to splash onto his own partner.

Z sent out and Godderz again cornered. Godderz with a back elbow, but The Wolves hit the Alarm Clock double team. The referee is dragged out by Robbie E as he makes the count and shoved.

Winners by disqualification: The Wolves

Christy Hemme backstage and she says she wants to meet Samuel Shaw in the ring tonight to talk about commitment.

Christy Hemme invites Samuel Shaw out. Shaw moves to the ring. Hemme says that Shaw is just misunderstood and the relationship between them is complicated. Shaw is happy that Hemme has finally seen the light. Hemme asks Shaw if she'd do anything for him and go anywhere for her. Hemme seduces Shaw by pulling off the glove and asking him to close his eyes. A psychiatric services truck rolls up and Mr. Anderson pops up as Hemme continues to seduce. Hemme asks Shaw to turn around and open his eyes. He turns into an Anderson Mic Check and Anderson plays to the crowd before taking him out to the van. Shaw escapes by kicking the doors back and running off.

Willow backstage and declares that he will take on Ethan Carter III and Rockstar Spud in a handicap match next week.

Match Four for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship: Magnus (c) vs. Eric Young

Magnus with the advantage early, using strikes to wear down the fatigued Eric Young. Young ducks out and gets a takedown with the waistlock, but misses on a moonsault attempt. Young gets sent outside by a knee lift from Magnus. Getting back in, Young pulls the top rope down on Magnus to send him outside. Young ready and goes for a suicide dive, only to be taken out by a European Uppercut from Magnus. Young sent into the ring steps on his injured arm and being stomped down by Magnus as we break.

We return to Magnus working the sleeper hold on Young. Young fights up and backpacks Magnus to land an electric chair. Both men down and Young landing shots as they return to the feet. Neckbreaker connects for Young and he heads up top. Elbow drop from the top rope connects and Young nearly gets the win.

Magnus regains the advantage with a driver that nearly helps him retain the title. Headed outside, Magnus grabs the title belt. The referee moves to gain control of the belt and ties Magnus up. Magnus uses the distraction to land a low blow on Young that nearly finishes the match.

Magnus looking to finish the match now after taking advantage of the low blow. Clothesline attempt from Magnus is countered by a crucifix pin attempt from Young that Magnus barely gets out of. Magnus now up and he is hit with a piledriver from Young.

Winner by pinfall and new TNA World Heavyweight Champion: Eric Young

The show closes with the emotional new TNA World Heavyweight Champion Eric Young celebrating as Jeremy Borash announces him as the new champion
